  1. 1. I would definitely ride Loch Ness (classic arrow coaster), Pompeii (splashdown), and DarKastle (dark ride) too. 2. Along with I305 and Dominator, I would also make sure to ride Volcano, Avalanche, and FOF. The rest of the coasters are OK, but nothing special in my opinion. 3. I'll let the locals answer this one. 4.With KD adding I305 and BGW losing Big Bad Wolf, it's a little closer. ...But I would still go with BGW. 5.Yes, but it depends on the time of the year, and if you're only hitting the "highlights" in each park.
  2. The Giant Dipper at Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk this past Tuesday. ...Definitely a fun ride in the front.
  3. I guess USF will be my next park sometime this week, since I was in Northern California for the beginning of Rip Ride Rockit's soft opening.
  4. For anyone that didn't like the banner, there you go.
  5. Come to think of it, 18 out of my top 20 are either Intamin or B&M. ...With Phantom's Revenge and ROTM (USF) being the only two that aren't. With that said, I definitely agree that history is on the side of this new coaster.
  6. Yea I agree, GI Joe wasn't that bad at all. ...It was actually kind of entertaining. Grade: B-
  7. I actually went back and changed my vote from two years ago. ...My current top 3 would be SFOG, SFGAm and SFGAdv.
  8. Please don't say that. I am actually looking forward to riding Diamondback for the first time next June. I actually do like the helix and final two bunny hops on Nitro, it's the first two thirds of the ride I can do without. Still, Nitro is better overall than 90 percent of the steel coasters I've been on. ...So I can't dislike it that much.
  9. ^^Yes I did. I actually just filled it out a little while ago.
  10. Great pics, thanks for posting them. They definitely do have room to expand if they choose to do so. The train goes pretty far back in those patch of woods on the other side of the landing strip, so I'm assuming they could always start heading in that direction.
  11. ^I do the same thing as you slither37, but of course for me it's at BGT. I get there at opening head to Montu first, then head to the back of the park and have Kumba to my self for a few rides, and finally end up at SheiKra for a few spins. I'm usually in and out of the park in 2 hours or so. Come to think of it, I do the same thing at Seaworld, USF, and IOA.
  12. I went to see Harry Potter in IMAX 3-D yesterday and thought it was pretty good. Not great, but good. I would say that Goblet of Fire is still my favorite with the Half Blood Prince falling somewhere in the middle. Grade: B
  13. I've been on Dueling Dragons dozens of times and can only think of one time it didn't duel. I guess I'm just lucky. Anyway, the possible new name doesn't really grab me. Oh well, at least it's only the name being replaced and not the ride.
  14. I would hope CP decided on their new ride by now.
  15. It really does look like they're trying to spell something out.
  16. ^I actually had no problems riding Ravine Flyer 3. For me it would have to be Fiesta Express at Cypress Gardens and Wild Adventure, need I say more.
  17. ^Just because I have Alpengeist as my username/avatar doesn't automatically mean it's my #1 coaster. I do like Alpengeist, but it's not even in my top 15 for steel coasters.
  18. I agree that Afterburn is very good and sometimes overlooked. I believe I have it listed as my #3 favorite invert and my #1 outside the state of Florida. With the new coaster coming to Carowinds next year, the park should have a very good 1-2 punch as far as Beemers go. ...That is as long as the new coaster is a B&M.
  19. ^ Based on The Bebes calculations, I would think 4 people would cut the price down to around $2000/$2100. While you can save even more on a rental car, hotel, and gas, you still have your plane ticket, park admission, and food to pay for even with 4 people. Also, don't overlook the important advice Elissa gave you about the park's operating hours in September. ...Most of those parks go to a weekend schedule, basically consisting of Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. IMO, late August would be a safer time to go, but it will also be busier.
  20. How about a coaster that doesn't have over-the-shoulder restraints. ...Maybe a Mega-lite, Aquatrax, Spinner, etc. Of course, more great dark rides are always welcomed, but either way we are talking at least a few years down the road.
  21. Wow, definitely a hard one. It's my worst score yet 8/20.
  22. I agree that the term "2nd largest project" could mean several things, not just money. ...height, length and/or the overall size of a new land come to mind. Also, put me down for another HW fan hoping for an Intamin. Then again, I say that for every new project every year that's being rumored in the US.
  23. Looks cool, thanks for the link. Hopefully it'll be in my neck of the woods in the near future.
