  1. ^I hope I'll agree. The restraints were already bad enough. The additions really don't look that restrictive, though.
  2. Well, since there's nothing at all bizarre about it, that wouldn't really fit.
  3. I've gotten a pull of airtime going over the top hat on Kingda Ka (I've also gotten good airtime on TTD). Then again I'm one of those crazy people who is willing to sit very close to the back. I honestly still like the ride a lot!
  4. Now that, that is some serious credit whoring. Kudos. Unfortunately I was in the same boat as you with American Eagle Red. Hopefully next year will be the year I end up finally getting it, along with X-Flight.
  5. Anyway, I'm starting to think I need to plan a NorCal-SoCal trip next year. The credits I need keep piling up! And speaking of season passes, hopefully next year I'll be needing one again.
  6. ^^^I was thinking the same thing (though of course we can talk all day about how many parks have two or more similar/comparable coasters). Then again, I wouldn't complain if they did get a dive machine, as they're very fun!
  7. ^I'm honestly surprised that people here and there are still doubting it.
  8. ^Hmm. I know what one of those two is. And I'm pretty sure I know what the other one is too. FWIW.
  9. ^^I haven't ridden lapbar trains on one of those yet, but here's hoping they increase in numbers. It's sad how the OTSRs make what could be a reasonable (if mundane) ride into something pretty awful. Enjoyed the article; sounds like the park will have a lot going for it. I hope they do very well, and I'd love to visit soon!
  10. 100. Wacky Worm, WOF 200. Superman: Ultimate Flight, SFGAdv 300. Lightning Racer: Lightning 400. Carolina Cyclone Funny thing about the S:UF coasters. The one at SFGAm was my 100th steel. The one at SFGAdv was my 200th overall. The one at SFOG was coaster 420, for those who care about that. Also I purposely planned my day at Carowinds so my 400th would be someone else's 200th. I heard other people also got their 200th on Carolina Cyclone the same day. I believe a similar thing happened coincidentally with Lightning Racer milestones last year as well.
  11. ^Ah, interesting info. I was just annoyed that they would shut down the ride to tear apart cars (mostly mine for some reason) looking for someone's stuff when they regularly announce that, like most other parks, they will not do so on other rides such as Twister. But maybe it was in no way the guest's fault!
  12. I'll be conservative and count a "visit" as any day where I rode at least one coaster at the location. I've been to some parks more times due to weather or just to hang out and enjoy the atmosphere. Elitch Gardens Mile High Flea Market Heritage Square Amusement Park Lakeside Amusement Park (two visits) Six Flags America Coney Island Cyclone (four visits) Adventurers Family Entertainment Center Rye Playland <3 Luna Park proper Scream Zone Six Flags Great Adventure Knoebels Hersheypark Central Park Fun-Land Kings Dominion Busch Gardens Williamsburg Go-Karts Plus Carowinds NASCAR SpeedPark Fun Spot Family Action Park Dollywood Lake Winnie Six Flags Over Georgia 23 if you count Cyclone rides separately. 22 if you include the coaster as part of Luna Park like you're supposed to. Didn't ride coaster Deno's Wonder Wheel Park No coasters 12th Street Amusements Eldorado Auto Skooters Various carousels
  13. ^Sooo true. I'm not even bothered by the rules so long as the operators account for difficulty in controlling the cars (Lusses often have a mind of their own). They help keep the cars in shape longer. But I like riding with people who know what they're doing, love them some good hits, and don't lose their junk underneath the seats! Isn't it true that PPP is actually the least friendly day for snapping the flyers, because there are a lot of families who get scared and complain? I thought I heard about an issue like that at least one year.
  14. I was a bit disappointed by GASM. After all the praise, especially regarding how it was running this year, I think I was hoping for more of an airtime machine. Most of the course was no better than average, if that.
  15. I've never been to PPP but I do not doubt this for a second. I would love to make Knoebels a once-a-year park, and I think at minimum I WILL be there the year Flying Turns opens, event or no. I'm not even exactly sure why. Just sounds like a neat experience I guess.
  16. Boomerang is 100% boring. Kong has a neat lift hill if you aren't used to inverts. It's cool how it has nothing directly underneath it.
  17. Absolutely sickening. I really feel for those poor animals. Almost makes me want to boycott the place, but for one thing, I'm not really the type to do that, and for another, I do visit various animal attractions here and there and in many cases I don't have concrete proof they're any better. It can be way too easy to keep stuff hidden.
  18. ^It's an absolute must. Everyone knows I like rough woodies, and even I hated that ride. A couple of us got a hint about SkyScreamer at DSB. We were talking to a random employee who mentioned he used to work at Carowinds and pointedly asked about their Windseeker. It wasn't hard to put two and two together.
  19. I'm not sure if child-required policies still come into play sporadically, but I think it's clear the park "gets" enthusiasts. I got in once with no problem without even directly sharing my coaster enthusiasm (though it was during WCB so they may have suspected), and was treated very kindly. It's quite the adorable park. Shame about the incident.
  20. 92 degrees has never felt nicer. After enduring weeks of oppressive heat and humidity (plus at least one surprisingly cold thunderstorm), I'm loving Oregon's special brand of agreeable hotness.
  21. Awesome report, Chuck. I won't point it out, but I found myself in a picture looking exactly the way I'm sure I felt at that moment (before being awakened by coasters). Nice seeing you again.
  22. Cool to see that Hurricane isn't getting scrapped. I was going to say "Hope Western Playland is still keeping their Galaxi," but I just realized it's actually a Zyklon, and those usually suck, so whatever. As a credit whore I guess I'll be able to get two relocated credits on SDC Hurricanes soon. Yay?
  23. A.J., why'd you have to go and bring up PPP? I'm deep into Knoebels withdrawal here.
  24. Lakeside Cyclone last night. Quite the appealing little ride.
