  1. I don't remember who it was that posted something about the Boss at SFSTL, but I am glad it made the list. Flying through coaster structure and then hitting an unexpected drop with a head chopper => pretty awesome first drop.
  2. Yes, pictured here: Haha! Right on the money. Rough with no redeeming qualities. I say if the wood can be salvaged, use it to build a dueling GCI. If the wood can't be salvaged, use the space to build a B&M Invert. If there are no plans to replace it, leave it be.
  3. I rode Magnum after riding MF and Dragster so maybe I am biased, but I also think it is very overrated. It does have a great view, but other than that, I see no reason for it to be in anyones top 10 who has ridden all the other rides at CP. IMO nostalgia should'nt be a factor in how one rates a coaster. Coaster ratings should be based on the coasters that exist now, not on any former state of the coaster world. Or maybe an asterisc should be added to denote nostalgia, kinda like steroid use...
  4. I am going to have agree with Rob on this one - I don't understand the whole rough = good mentality when it comes to wooden coasters. My dad seems to associate rough rides with the classic feel of a wooden ride. I thought it was just a generation gap thing, but apparently not. Personally, I find it hard to enjoy a ride when I am worried about my spleen rupturing (ie SOB). I don't consider John Allen's Racer at Kings Island to be rough, but I do consider it a classic. Anyway, Terminator will not be rough in any sense of the word. It will be a night and day comparison to Psyclone.
  5. I was actually there on the 4th of July last summer and would have to agree with everything TC Ridesalot said. The lines were minimal and the park was very easy to get around. I am glad to hear this is normal for WOF. I won't reveal the name of the ride in #4, but it was definitely a fun one. Mamba and Patriot both impressed me. Mamba's helix is intense! Unfortunately, Prowler was a stack of wood last time I visited, so I hope to make it all the way out to KC sometime
  6. Gwazi doesn't even have Millenium Flyer Trains either so I don't consider it a real GCI.
  7. I also rode the Beast today and though I never experienced the real Beast of 1979, I do miss flying into the tunnel after the shed run. My first ride on the Beast was at night and in the rain before it had been trimmed so much. I haven't had a ride like it since then. I wish there was some way to bolster the structure of the ride rather than putting trim brakes on...
  8. I wonder if the blinding affect of the on-ride camera was intentional. I have read a few remarks about it thus far. I'll bet they didn't think about it beforehand. Either way, I am glad it turned out so well!
  9. Well the only flyer I have ridden is a Vekoma and I really like the flying feeling of it. I must really be missing out on these flyers. Anyone know what the closest flyer (not Vekoma) to Louisville, KY is?
  10. So far I have read two reviews of Prowler and nothing negative has been said yet! Thanks for the update. I am stoked to ride this thing
  11. Yes! I am glad to hear the Prowler night rides are good. Night rides are my favorite - especially through the woods. Based on steel's description, the speed and pacing of the ride are as awesome as the pov makes them look. The comparisons to the Beast at night are getting me especially excited!! When is a good time to visit WOF? I need to start planning a trip!
  12. I finally got to my home park today and rode Diamondback. The first thing I noticed were the trains - best train and seat design I have ever seen. They are very comfortable, very open, yet very safe (from how they felt at least). The second thing I noticed was the quietness and smoothness of the ride - it is as smooth as butter! Other than that, I don't think it really lived up to the hype. I did get to ride in the front and back seats and it definitely is better in the front or back. Then again, I didn't get to ride it very late in the day or at night. I will definitely have to ride it at night very soon. I was also very impressed with the capacity of the ride and the quickness of the line. Hopefully the line will continue to be this quick throughout the summer. I am going to go ahead and say it is not the best ride in the park in my book. Maybe it is because I am a fan of inversions or because I haven't ridden it late in the day or at night. We shall see...
  13. Ooh - tunnels on a GCI. That doesn't happen too often, does it?
  14. The ending sequence does look fun. Has anyone ridden both Evel Knievel and Prowler? How do the endings compare? I have ridden EK and the last little pop and turn into the brake run is pretty nice
