  1. ^ Maybe I should clarify this some more. That's not me in the picture. I took the picture. The camera wasn't mine--it belongs to the guy standing in the picture.

    Here's the story:

We were at Yakima Training Center (YTC) in Sept 2003. While we were there, a group of Special Forces guys showed up, saying they needed to get rid of some demo (what we call explosives) and ask us if we wanted to join them. I had my 35mm camera with me taking rolls and rolls of pictures, so my Platoon Leader handed me his digital camera and let me go town. Of the three days we were training (and playing) with demo, one day I filled his memory card completely (some 150 to 200 pictures) and the other two days I nearly filled the card.

I made a video with pictures from his camera and mine. Whenever I get around to recompressing it into a downloadable format (the current one is over 300 MB for a seven minute video), I'll post it somewhere so you guys can watch it.

  2. Yes, and the odd thing is I'm right handed and I wear my watch on my right arm. Don't know why, but I've always had it that way. Whenever I play any game or sport that requires throwing, I move my watch to my left arm.

Oh, wait a minute. Is a watch different from a wristband?

  3. Hmm--you know, I think Oregon would say the same things about California and Idaho on their train-station walls.

Not really, but a lot of Oregonians complain how many people from California are moving in. They seem to be bringing their problems with them.

Honestly, I'm surprised they're not focusing on the US, considering all the bad rep our country is getting over the past few years.

  4. Matterhorn is only rough because it's fast approaching fifty years! Ask any over forty person and they'll tell you parts start wearing down at that age. Of course, good maintenance will insure another fifty years of pleasure without a hitch.

I agree with the others to start out at Knott's Berry Farm before moving onto Six Flag's Magic Mountain. Start out simple and work your way up, like start with Montazma's Revenge first before going on Excellerator (that will get you use to the catapults).

It's okay to be a little scared the first time you ride a coaster. Once it's done, ride it again and again and again. You will find that it's much more enjoyable the second and third time around. If that doesn't help, just remind yourself that as dangerous as it feels, you have way more chances of getting injured in a car accident than on a roller coaster. (The fear factor is what often creates the rush!)
