My friends and I stayed in Asheville between visiting those parks as well. While we were there, we hit up Wicked Weed Brewery. They are local and had a beer called Contingency Plan that I really took a liking to. I didn't get to try many of them, but most of their brews seem to be pretty hoppy which made for a lot of good IPA's. They also had some good food, but no live music while we were there.

I hope you didn't make that drive alone. My girlfriend and I are doing the same thing. Well, kinda; We stopped at Dollywood on Saturday, did Carowinds yesterday, and are currently in Atlanta to do SFOG before driving back to Tulsa on Thursday. Fury was a huge surprise to me. It was built for speed and did a great job at maintaining throughout the course! Afterburn was by far the best surprise of this trip. I knew it would be intense, but that old school B&M was just..amazing. Forceful from the drop to the breakrun!

I'm pumped for this event! 4th year in a row and 3rd park. This will be my girlfriend and I's first visit to Carowinds (and the Carolinas). Great job on the fundraising, guys!

My girfriend and I have been participating in Coasting For Kids at various parks over the years and turning that trip in to a road trip. I think we decided Carowinds was our destination this year. I'm really excited for this thing. I rarely check this thread, I had no idea the progress that was made! Looking good!!

Mine has to be Scream. Every visit my friends and I made to the park, it was a must for me. It didn't hurt that that section of the park was a dead zone and it never has a line. Ironically, I didn't enjoy Medusa, now Bizarro, quite as much.

Quantum looks amazing! My girlfriend, some friends, and I will be sailing on Navigator of the Seas this Sunday out of Galveston. We are doing the Western Caribbean itinerary (Roatan, Belize City, and Cozumel). Although it won't be my first cruise, all my other experiences were with Carnival when I was younger and we went on a family vacation. I'm pretty excited to have my first Royal Caribbean experience.

This thing looks awesome. I had plans to go up to SFNE this last summer and they got cancelled. Now, I'm not too upset about it. I love the orange and grey together.

That's what I was thinking. With Twisted Colossus being the centerpiece of the new Back Alley, I'm hoping they will give some love to Scream since it should be incorporated. It's been looking rough these last few years.

I'll be visiting the park for the first time on the 9th. At first, I didn't know if they were going to make it. Now with Media day being on the 6th, looks like I'll just making. Glad to hear they are taking the extra week to get everything done.

An Air Race would be pretty cool. I have been meaning to make the hour and change drive over to OKC to visit the park. Hopefully this summer I'll check it out.

Looks like it's coming along great. I planned to road trip to the park after doing Coasting for Kids, Valleyfair. If the date holds true, I'll get to ride this beast!

This is awesome news! Since I have done this even at World's of Fun the last two years, I was hoping to do it at another park. I'm thinking Canada's Wonderland, but we'll see.
