  1. If the park were to build a ride in the area of Flashback, I think it should have more of a traditional, trademark feel. For example, a carousel SCREAMS amusement park.

For a front of the park ride, I think the water coaster type slide would be great! It could even be themed like Dragons Lair at Schlitterbahn. If not a water ride, I think a S&S tower would be a good addition. A combo tower, or double shots would be great.

If it has to be a coaster, I think a custom spinning coaster would be a great family addition.

Some valid points. There's all ready a carousel in a prime location not too far from there. A tower might be nice, but I think a tower would work better on a hill like on Samurai Summit. As for a water ride, I would like them to overhual Log Jammer with some serious theming.

The more I think about it, just expand HH and be done with it.

  2. Ok diss me if you must but i love the preshow to Rock N Rollercoaster.I will be experiencing it again in 8 days and yes going thru the preshow room for all 30 rides in one day. I can mimic the whole preshow word for word too...lol I LOVED the preshow rooms all 3 of Terminator. It is part of the ride experience. The general audience who waits in a regular line 30,40,50, 60 + minutes won't mind going thru the preshows at all. It builds to the ride and gives you the basic storyline you need before entering the station to board the train (make your escape).

For coaster enthusiasts like some i can see why going thru the preshow is a bit tiring and repeatitive. Yes we can surely skip the preshow but for someone visiting SFMM that day and riding only once or twice the preshow is definitely needed.

One thing i was relieved to see was the fact there were no Terminators other than in the last preshow room. I was scared as it was especially going thru the rooms. But i scare easily.

As far as requesting a specific row. On KROQ's event the only time we never really requested a row was our first ride. After that the ride op ususally asked us if we wanted front, back or middle. I did notice the further back you are the more i could experience the "pops of airtime". When i was in the front not so much.

The onboard audio soundtrack was definitely on the high side on Thursday. If it is tuned down now too low (from the sounds of it) then that isn't good either. It's funny now we joke around with the whole "TAKE THE TUNNEL!!!" if only others know what we're talking about.

Ok enough of my rant for now. And i haven't ridden many wooden coasters especially outside of CA. I am not lucky enough to go travel to ride coasters to compare them but for CA it is my #1 over Ghostrider.

Good points and good post. The forum needs more like you.

  3. Six Flags needs a ride there where people looking from outside the gate/fence are salivating over. I don't think this water ride does that. Especially, what makes you so sure SFMM would run it during the HH off-season? Roarin' Rapids was closed for the Winter. I don't think SFMM wants to operate a ride that nobody wants to get on because it's too cold. If they do it, just leave it in HH permanently and be done with it.

  4. The way I see it with the pre show is that if your already gonna spend more than 10 minutes in a queue for the ride, why not spend part of it in a well themed room with entertainment? I highly doubt that anytime in the near future are we gonna see wait times for terminator less than 10 minutes. I don't think the preshow is gonna add that much unnecasary wait, besides isn't the little extra wait worth it for a kick a$$ GCI?

    Looks like someone gets it.

  5. I think the theme is completely feasible.

It's possible that since the machines have taken over, the Resistance is forced to start again from the bare bones, hence the wooden coaster idea. I may be reaching, but it's the way that I see it as working if they are going to make the ride fit the theming.

That said, those are some sexy trains... can't wait to see these things test.

    Sincerely,

    R.C.

You hit the nail on the head. The theme makes perfect sense.

  6. Magic Mountain needs to get into Real Estate development. The market for real estate never goes down. How many of you would kill for a house on a man made lake where you have a view of the park? And within Walking distance?

In my opinion, it would be cool at first, but the novelty would wear off quickly. This goes for any park, not just Magic Mountain. It would be cool to live close to a park, but not next door to one, especially a major one. The constant noise, commotion, construction, traffic, etc. might get annoying after a while.

Okay, let's just go with a Hotel and add a brand new theme park next door. People need a reason to extend their stay in the area. Make it a RESORT, not just a 6 hours and you're out roller coater park.
