Knott's Halloween Haunt 2009

I hope they have enough commitment to show to use British accents in the maze. -
^^If you're referring to a forward-downward slant, all coasters are designed that way. Should a train stop in that block, it will roll forward on that slant once the brakes release to continue forward. If the block were evenly leveled, a stopped train in that block would be stuck there once the brakes release.

^I don't think they have the budget for that just yet. I mean for CN to be based out of Burbank, I'd have figured they'd film at SFMM, being that it's closer, more recognizable, and SF could've used the extra money right now, but I guess filming would have been more of a burden at a park like MM.

I noticed it mentioned (the video) that some pilots were working 12 to 14 hours shifts. I recently got my class B license in this state, (CA) to brive buses, and it's interesting because in California if you drive a mass transit vehicle, (such as a bus or light rail) you are limited to 10 hours of consecutive work in a 24 hour period. Sounds like one of the many factors was exhausted pilots. Again, a tragedy for this man's family who now have to make unexpected funeral arrangments. I can't fathom what they're going through right now, but I pray they find the strength to get through it.

I saw the first episode. Am I the only person that finds it wierd that (in this example Silver Bullet) there were riders sitting in like 2 rows, not moving, talking to each other, or doing anything other than just being extras in the background. At the very least the other "riders" are staged. and with no one in the bull pins and the 2nd train in storage, it then becomes hard to believe that someone was "randomly picked" while waiting in line, as signs point to the ride being closed for filming. Staged, but milding entertaining. Definately staged though.

^And as tntornadox best sums up, Walmart can have an unqualified person to sell you that $2,000 computer for 8 bucks an hour rather than, say 15 like Best Buy would. Walmarts ability to achieve the same result with limited input makes it difficult for Best Buy to keep the trained or knowledgable staff and sustain its standards. The same could be said in SF's case when it comes to the quality of guest service that has been delivered within the past decade (for the benefit of doubt of the new management, I'll identify this decade from 1995 to 2005) The park was content with providing bare minimums. Was the guest service at Six Flags horrible during this period? Not entirely, but bad enough that it left an image on parkgoers minds that have yet to be relinquished. However, Six Flags has not enjoyed the same benefits as say, Walmart despite similar input practices. Now that the chain is doing noticibly better (I wouldn't say it's a full 180 yet) it's still stuck with a decade of subpar service and quality standards from that "decade" still fresh on everyones minds. Because Six Flags is still in a state of recovery from this decade, it is hard to get it to the level of quality that will not only make the name a success, but dominate in it's market (which I know it has the potential to do, but potential is different from actualizing). It's going to be hard for Six Flags to move forward right now, because working with the limited resources they have can only do so much. It's almost as if they're going to have to get better, and more efficient, and more friendlier, and all around become a better value, without having the means to do it.

I heard from the park services guy that BGE has an exclusive contract with B&M that the flyer they will get in 2011 will have a wing dip into a pool of Bacardi lime, so KD can not use hard alcohol as a splashdown, and Intamin cannot use water as B&M holds the patent to water, and 's will commandeer the ride if gravy is used, so KD will go with tangy chipotle sauce that will splash nearby burgers and burritos for flavor. The sauce will be lowfat, but high in taste! The ride will be themed to the taco bell chiwahwah and will hand out mission tortilla's after the ride in the same fashion as the factory in DCA.

^Johnny Rockets for lunch isn't a bad move. The park food in general isn't bad per se, but if you don't mind paying the extra 2 or 3 bucks for a JR burger, go for it. FYI I personally love the garlic fries sold in the stand right across from Food, Etc (Next to Goliath), they run $6 and are worth every red cent. Delicioso!. As long as your daughter rides with her shoes on there should be no problem with measuring. The only time this is a factor is when there is no floor present (i.e an invert) and since all applicable rides have a height requirement of 54'', you're fine. X might be of some concern however. If you're going during the summer, Mon-Thur seem to be less crowded days. It won't be empty, but you'll see noticably lighter crowds than the Fri-Sun rush. I like to start with the back half of the park myself. X, Tatsu and Terminator are going to have lines at 10:31, so unless you're ahead of the pack, you'd have to wait no matter what time you get there. I prefer to start with rides in the back of the park like Riddler's, Batman, Scream, and Colossus...and maybe even Goliath. These rides tend to have sharter lines in the earlier hours of operation due to X and Tatsu being in the front. That way, you could focus on the longer lines later in the day, which at that point may have even died down a little.
