  1. I'd tie in local events into admission, to use as a promotion, something like, the day after a Laker game, if the Lakers win and hold their opponet under 100 points, admission for that day would be the player of the game's jersey number (if L Odom is player of the game, admission is 7 dollars, K Bryant, 24 dollars, and so on) Or if the Dodgers win the next day their runs scored would be the times you could revisit with a one day admission.
  2. ^I could load Tatsu (and did so quite a few times) single handedly in 50 seconds back in '07, yet the three peolpe who do it now can't do it in under 3 minutes...
  3. I went to SFDK last year. I rode Medusa, and found that the line was moving incredibly slow. As we got to the top of the stairs, there was a sign that said there was an approximate wait of 30 minutes IN THE STATION! For a B&M! I don't know how the park operates the ride, but I asked the operator "how many people can you guys cycle in an hour?" and he replies "I'm just a junior in high school, man, you might as well be speaking French to me". Apparently the schools aren't any better in Northern California. When I worked at Knott's back in 2006, I was at Xcelerator, and we had a pretty close crew (most of us still hang out today, though we all have moved on to other work) but there was one person who was a regular at Screamin' Swing who annoyed the hell out whenever he got pulled as a breaker, cause he would never shut the f*ck up about Screamin' Swing. "Wow, you Xcelerator guys are way different than what we do at Screamin' Swing", I had to hit the cycle stop one day at Screamin' Swing", I have a boner for Screamin' Swing", When I quit I'm gonna marry Screamin' Swing". He litterally annoyed two people to the point where they asked to be downgraded to Supreme Scream when he was scheduled there (Supreme is the starter ride if you want to learn Xcel) When I worked at SFMM back in 2007, I got kinda irratated that people fought over panel, (knott's rotates positions every hour, MM can't as not everyone is "certified" to operate said ride) I used to tell my crew (at Tatsu) "if you want more panel time, I can gladly send you back to Bunny World. You can have panel all day at cages". That shut them up real quick and had them checking seas even quicker.
  4. ^Xcelerator has the exact problem, but with it being the prototype, it takes much longer than 15 minutes to correct this (30-45 minutes)
  5. ^Oh yea...if anybody should know about the Mason-Dixon line, it should be me
  6. ^Yea, but aren't the Carolinas considered mid-Atlantic, too? Kinda makes KD's i305 overshadow any B&M built in this region
  7. ^Not to flame you or anything, but that seems kinda nit-picky. No you say that this kind of "mistake" would be acceptable in a "regular" textbook, but the same authors and publishers (McGraw Hill, Houghton Mifflin, etc) make textbooks for all levels from K-12, all the way up to post graduate school. Also, this is a rare case (and I do mean RARE) where the end justifies the mean. The book took an example and took an everyday object and made it relate to the material being taught. So what if said drop is 75, 80, 0r 85 degrees? Typos hapen all the time, and that to me seems like something smaller than you're making it.
  8. I'd imagine Roar! has the second slot, with the two being the only ones worth mentioning? lol...
  9. ^^All the CP fanboys will be out for blood once they find out the 2010 addition isn't a coaster...
  10. And Canada's supposed to have better a better school system than the States? Ha!
  11. Kingda Ka in June...it looked nice sitting there though Grizzley at CGA...legs were too long Windjammer...prior to working at KBF in 2006, I had only been in 1994 and 2004. Flashback at SFMM...was never open when I went Rocket Rods. Got the credit, but was too young to really remember it.
  12. ^^Hey hey hey, let's not badmouth Blue Streak, lol.
  13. ^What a douche that kid was. "let me risk my irreplacable life very very replacable, very chep hat".
  14. ^I would have replied, "No sir, I'm not an idiot. Just someone that knows there's a 456ft, 128mph coaster in Jackson, New Jersey..."
  15. *Disney succeeds and remains head, neck, shoulders, and upper torso above the rest because they spare no expense when it comes to guest quality. Most enthusiasts will give parks breaks by saying, "it's not Disney" so they can't do something. Disney is in the position it's in because they invest the most into their product, far more than their competitors. It is these investments that make Disney the name it is in the amusement industry. If the GP "settle" so much, why is it that the 2008 attendance show that over 17 million** people visited the Magic Kingdom Orlando, and over 14 million people visited the Magic Kingdom Anaheim, yet this as a combined number of over 31 million visited just two U.S. properties. Why is it that they're not "settling" for the much more "affordable" Six Flags with more of a geographical edge being regional. I don't think it's fair to say that the GP can't detect quality, seeing as the same report showed that only 3 Six Flags parks averaged over two million visitors. People care about quality, and it's that quality that has gone non-existant in so many Six Flags parks, (and in most Cedar Fair parks, too...I didn't forget about you) that keep them in the state they're in. Not the fact that Disney just has a ridiculous surplus of money that they got anonymously. **see these numbers for yourself
  16. Wasn't Tron based off Space Mountain? Not sure, so that's why I'm asking...
  17. Water is available at no charge in designated cups only. This is the park's official policy. Anything else outside of this is the interpretation of the employee.
  18. Everybody Love the sunshine-Roy Ayres
  19. Does the South Park movie count as a musical?
  20. ^You'd be surprised that most ride ops only know enough about their rides to effectively do their job. Not everybody gets into it. In fact, you'd be surprised to know that most ride ops don't know any more about coasters than the GP would...
  21. ^Better yet... "The Tatsu train will accomodate four flyers per row. In preparation for your flight on Tatsu we would like to remind you that loose articles such as hats, cameras, purses and cell phones are not allowed and must be left in a lo.cker or non riding member of your party. Enjoy your flight aboard Tatsu".
  22. ^^Freefall was my "hire" ride, Batman, Riddler's, and Tatsu. I was an attendant at X (with the foot pedals) and Scream!
  23. ^Superman:Ultimate Borefest. Enough said. I'd have to say that of all the rides I worked at the park, Tatsu was my least favorite. Fun ride, but I was there when the last two cars were designated for flashpass, and they used that stairway towards te back of the station, and before the locker policy. When we'd have all three trains, and you come back in the opposite station from which you left, people would hop the gate to get the stuff they left on the side. Annoying.
