Here are my thoughts on all the topics covered in this thread.
When I was there the smoking policy wasn't being enforced AT ALL! There were lots of people smoking on the midway and employees were walking right past not even saying a word.
I agree that Disaster Transport was an okay ride and that it doesn't deserve to be torn down. The queue was poor though. It looked like the local art club came in and decorated the queue.
Planet Snoopy was a hit with my little bro. I loved Snoopy when I was a kid so it was fun. The area looked very modern and hopefully will stay that way.
Joe Cool Cafe was also good. I liked the fact that the kids had a larger menu than the adults, it was really all for the kids. It wasn't very busy though, but that may be because we ate a funky time.
Since you didn't get to see All Wheels Extreme I'll tell you how it was. It was a very entertaining show. There wasn't very much talking though. There was a little at the beginning and the end, but it was basically people dancing and doing tricks to some music. There was a little humor added to it too with the crazy tourist guy. Hot girls dancing, people doing some awesome stunts, rockin' music, a little chuckle here and there, what more can you ask for. Overall 8/10.
I'm bummed that Wicked Twister got paved under the launch.
I also agree that the ride ops looked like they were having a great time. For example when we were riding Wicked Twister the op asked the train how the ride was, we all cheered, she replied with a satisied "Wicked!"
I think that CP could use a few more trees toward the front of the park. I'm not talking as many as there are in Fronter Trail, but just a few here and there to give some shade.
At the top of Power Tower only two of the four lights were on. Not only that but they weren't changing colors either.
Did you get to ride Skyscraper? Here's my thoughts on it. My mom and I had a coupon for $5 off so we went to ride it. My mom wasn't looking foward to it. We got to the ticket booth and saw that they had a buy one person get another free, so we used that instead of our coupon. We ended up paying $20 for the thing and we couldn't complain about how much it cost. If we had to pay regular price we would have had to pay $40. The op said that we would spin four times backward, then four times forward. The ride was fun, but not as intense as I expected. We didn't flip that much. At the top of the loop there is some nice hangtime. About half way through the cycle they stop you at the top to give you a very nice and open view of the lake. When the ride ended my mom said that it wasn't that bad (it would have been worse it we would have flipped more).
Anyway, that's all I have to say.

So pretty much, they just need to build some janky dorms so people can from all over the nation/world can come to and work there! Hell, it seems to work perfectly for CP! Everything you described is equal to or better than the conditions at CP, with the exception of Saturdays being the glorious Macho Nacho Day at the employee cafeteria.
Magic Mountain already has a couple people from different countries. When I was there I was sitting down and saw some people that wanted to play the guess your weight game. They walked up to the stand and the japanese girl working the booth started speaking japanese. They just looked at eachother, looked at the girl, and walked away. I don't know about you but I think that it should be a job requirement to speak english.

I've ridden this before and it's actually intense (in a good way). Sure it's rather odd but it actually provides a okay ride. It's not as bad as the other x car coasters. Besides that the view from upside down is amazing.

I made a trip to Universal Studios this week, and there were happy, helpful, SMILING employees at the front of every ride, and at every corner of the park.
Just a quick question, but does Universal Studios (or any park for that matter) treat their employes differently? Do other parks offer perks which would make them happy to work there? Because it seems like the better Six Flags would treat their employes the happier they will be to work there. Just a thought...

Magic Springs and Crystal Falls
Park Management
*The park hardly ever has long lines. The only time lines start to build up are on weekends during the summer. When they do have lines the longest one is for The Gauntlet.
*Avoid riding Magic Swings or Arkansas Twister when the park first opens because those are the first rides people go to. Instead, head to the back of the park around the X Coaster, the park will basically be deserted so you can get alot done in that area in a short amount of time. After the park has been open for a while the wait times will start to even out. Lunch time is the WORST time to eat (they often run out of food at many of their restraunts). Eat lunch earlier than you normally would before the food runs out. Mid-day is when the water rides and the water park start to get crowded. When it's hot Plummet Summit is the most popular ride because you'll get soaked. Avoid riding Arkansas Twister when the park closes because people try to fit one more ride in.
*The park is shaped like a U, so it's tough to get from one side of the park to the other. The hilly terrain only adds to the probem.
Best time to go to the park
*The best time to visit the park is before the summer starts and after summer is over. Those times are PERFECT because the weather is nice and the lines are very short. If you go to the park during the summer go on a weekday (the lines will be okay).
*DO NOT GO ON A WEEKEND! Summer weekends a terrible at the park. The operations are just plain bad! Besides that, the concert series draws in way more people than the park can handle.
Food Recommendations
*The Deep Woods Diner provides good food and an air conditioned place to eat it.
*The Ouachita Mountain Barbeque Company serves some finger lickin' good Barbeque.
*If you looking for something sweet head over to Auntie Mae's Candy Shop. You can buy some really cool sweet treats and some souvenirs at the same time.
Ride Recommendations
*X Coaster- The only X car coaster in the US. (FYI they've only ran it at 1/2 capacity or 1/3 capacity since it got stuck upside down, don't really know why)
*The Gauntlet- Just you standard SLC, but alot smoother than you would expect because of the new wheel assembly.
*Plummet Summit- If you're wanting to cool off without having to walk to the waterpark you can ride this.
*Arkansas Twister- A classic out and back coaster. It's a little bumpy, but not enough to take away from the ride. (If you ride towards the front it's smoother)
*Big Bad John- It provides a nice stroll through the woods. Be ready for a fun finale!
*Wild Thang- Who doesn't love a power surge?!?!
*Old No. 2 Logging Company- A fun little flume ride for the whole family.
*Twist 'n Shout- A wild mouse with very little trimming which provides an insane ride! (It's a litte painful, but since they added some padding it helps a little.) (FYI, be ready for a little kick at the bottom of the lift hill.)
General Info
*Take advantage of the free sunscreen.
*The free Pepsi products a great help during those hot summer days.
*Since they offer free tubes at Crystal Falls you don't have to go through the trouble of renting your own tube.

I agree with Wes completely! The mountain doesn't really have something that is rerideable. I don't want to go on an extreme ride all the time! Sometimes I just want to ride something that is just plain fun, something that you can ride over and over again and it just not get old. But they'll have to maintain it to keep it from getting rough, because a ride isn't as fun if it's rough...

I know that you guys would pay $200 for an Extreme Play Pass, but the question is will the GP? They aren't like us coaster nerds. They only go to a theme park maybe once a summer.

Thomas town (to me) is more kid friendly than family friendly, so your number one makes since. The supposed family coaster coming next year should help attract the familys.
On the contrary, I think that Magic Mountain should have a balance. Because if they still aimed for the thrill seekers they would come to ride the thrill rides and the thrill rides alone. I think rides like Evil Knievel that are big enough for the thrill seekers, but small enough for the family to ride are just the ticket. That and things for the smaller kids and elderly.

Thomas Town is a strong brand for kids ages 1-5...kids age 5-11 are looking for something a little more exciting than a Thomas Town train that goes in circlesWhich is exactly why they built Thomas Town for kids ages 1-5 and Bugs Bunny World for kids ages 5-11(which BTW I think is an inaccurate estimate for Bugs Bunny World, I think that they are targeting the same age group). What I'm getting at is that they are trying to build things for the kids.

Magic Mountain has built and still holds the reputation for being a park with some of the craziest coasters in the world, and as much as they'd like to change that, it’s not going to go away any time soon. The "Xtreme" coasters are the first things you see when you pull up to the park. The only way to bring families back into the park is by having a good 5-10 year reputation of family friendly service.Well, if they are trying to bring in families they have to start somewhere. They are going to loose the "Xtreme Park" status slowly. Nobody said that they are going to loose it quickly.
There can't be park stabbings, there can't be kids walking around with shirts that say "F*** You," there can't be lethargic uninterested employees, the park must continue its turn for the better even more dramatically than they already have. All the advertising in the world doesn't mean squat if you don't provide for each and every one of the families on each and every visit.All the things you listed haven't happened in a long time, they are changing those things, so they can be more of a family park. There are always going to be people like that, and there is no way we can stop them from wearing shirts with vulgar language, and there is no way we can keep uninterested employees from working there. But they can greatly reduce those things with more strict security and better training.
Magic Mountain decided to say "good bye" to families more than a decade ago, and as the park and all of us are seeing, it takes more than a quick fix to bring them back.That was the old Six Flags. Now they are trying to bring those families back. Again, nobody said that it was going to be a quick fix; they are going to have to draw the families in slowly but surely.
I'm sorry if I seem like a complete a-hole, but I just don't understand some of your reasoning.
