Wow. I like the style of n7's card, however, rcrider's design best complements the site's design.
-
Wow, I like the idea. The price is great too, and as said earlier, I would like to be an official "TPR Club Member."

Holy crap! Six Flags should do that to all of their teacup rides for Fright Fest. It looks so fun I might actually go if they did. It reminds me of those crazy German fair rides!
-
I'm working for a house at the county fairgrounds. Tonight I was in the Morgue/Autopsy room. Got to scare the crap out of people with the saw that I use to "cut the victim open" with. It's a great attraction. PM me for more info if you are interested.

I would love to wait another few years until the company has enough to build some sort of high-tech indoor ride. Would be nice if they could theme it off the new Batman Arkham Asylum game.
My thoughts exactly. It lends itself perfectly to a high tech indoor dark ride.
-
It's an interesting looking ride, but I don't see what all the fuss is about it. Such massive lines for a very low-tech ride. Even the animatronics are not as sophisticated as those in other Disney parks, especially those over here in the US. But, it is unusual to see another dark side in Disney nonetheless.
I actually thought that the first animatronic of Mike was incredible! I haven't ever really seen anything with movements that fluid. I also liked the effect at the end when Randal gets squished.

I'm trying to figure out why they didn't E-stop & drain the water. Draining the water would have stopped the raft from overflowing, an I think overall make it easier to evacuate.
Just my two cents.
P.S.- That water doesn't look too clean either.

^Everybody gets one.

They are just traditional Arrow brakes. And they gripped on the part of the car that swings? That just looks like a disaster. I can only imagine the stress the chassis went under!

^ I sent them an E-mail asking if they were going to sell parts. They said they had no plans to sell any part of it.

I think the lapbar installation was probably due to guests hopping out mid-ride.
Here's a little known fact: The last little bit before the lift on Popeye's rapids is actually in the lagoon at lagoon level, and just has a guide rail and catwalk next to it. So when Ripsaw and Popeye E-stop, they drain into the lagoon, which causes the water level to rise in the lagoon, and on Popeye, Which causes Popeye to E-stop as well.
So anytime someone jumps out of Ripsaw, they press E-stop, which automatically E-stops Popeye.
So installing lapbars makes sense, and probably causes less E-stops.

^You forgot Corkscrew's station.

^Amen!
Now that's a good NL designer!
I'll package it and review it if you would like. I'll PM you my E-mail address.

I got my last ride in on Friday. Wolf was running great, although the crew was consistently stacking all 3 trains which caused a bit of a line. Luckily Quick Queue fixed that for the most part. I ran into several members of ACE, then I saw guys wearing "National Roller Coaster Museum" shirts in line. Then I was asked by a college student who was interviewing fans for a documentary class if I would like to interview. I took my last ride, and agreed to interview. I thought it was a great way to say good bye.
I also did the behind the scenes coaster tour. When we asked them about Wolf they explained by giving us the usual "It's at the end of its service life blah blah blah."
-
It will also be the second coaster I am aware of that you can see from I-95. (the first being a wild mouse at south of the boarder in South Carolina)
Lol. That thing hasn't operated in years...

I never been to sfog want to here soon but they cant be as bad as sfa in maryland. Idk if your looking for fast ride ops some crews are fast some are not. I went to sp on fri and wow most of there crews were slow. Magnum coming out of the tunnel for 15mins straight stop quick on those brakes cause there was trains stack you could here the brakes squeaking from the station
What?
English please?

I probably should have mentioned this earlier... but It'll clear things up as to exactly what happened...
We were going up the last hill and then BAM! The track power cut out, show effects froze, and lights came on all at the same time. Then a ride-op came around to tell us what happened. Apparently one of the brakes on the track didn't close on time and the ride automatically E-Stopped itself. We were only stuck for about 10 minutes. After a quick reset we got to stay on and ride again.
As for the camera, it's decent. It's a PENTAX 7.1 Megapixel with a 3X zoom.
-
It's not even close. I was eating lunch on the patio right next to Tidal Force when the splash completely ENGULFED my view of Fahrenheit.
A splash on Fahrenheit would be awesome though...
I agree to the above, greatest post. lol.

They are pretty much the same except that SFDK has slightly tighter turns and a different pre-lift section because it uses millenium flyers. SFA came before the millenium flyers and it uses PTC's. Therefore the transitions are more spread out and whatnot.

These pics are from June 1st. It was dead yet again. Lightning Racer was only running Thunder. Apparently one of the footers had and issue and they had to pour a new one.
And I'll leave you with the snake-dive-horse-on fire- diving thingy.
Storm Runner is looking a little pinkish...
Seriously, these guys are awesome!
Great singers!
The Milkmen!
Entertainment.
I like the grassy hill in the background...
Now you don't. (Tidal Force's splash is THAT big!)
Now you see it...
Are we at Coney Island?
The new skyline.
A certain member will remember how this ride kicked our asses!
Flowrider thingy.
New view of Wild Mouse.
The finish line...not as in racing...as in "the ride is over."
Closed Lightning side.

More pics... And an encounter with Mark Twain!
And we leave off with the man himself...
But the wait was bearable...
Bad sign.
Time for some arrow...
Storm Runner was closed.
SEAquel overview.
Of course we can't leave without the signature shot.
Noted!
ERT?
Unfortunately, last year they began to trim off speed here... Now this hill is like Mean Streak's first drop... disappointing and boring.
Great Bear
WOOOOSSSHHHH!!!!! So fast!
Vehicle controller...
Track with lights on.
E-Stop catches you by surprise... The vehicle stops, show effects turn off, and lights come on all within about a half a second or less.
OMG It's Mark Twain!!!
The sportscasters.
The trophy...
Drugs!
Xtreme Cup Challenge!

Hey everyone! I recently got the chance to go to my "alternate" home park, Hersheypark not once, but twice within the past two weeks. Needless to say, Herhsypark was awesome as usual with their wonderful staff and great ride lineup.
The first day I went was May 20th and the park was DEAD. I was able to whore on the Wild Mouse for 45 minutes without getting off! (Those who have been on Hershey's Wild Mouse know that there are no trims on the first half!) I was also able to stay on Sooperdooperlooper for 2 hours.
The most interesting part of the day was when Xtreme Cup Challenge E-stopped mid way through my ride. All in all it was a great day!
Anyways, onto pics! I'll break it up into several parts, then post pics from June 1st.
Kissing Tower.
More to come, including Xtreme Cup E-Stop!
"Rattler's Revenge"- I guess that's Herhseypark's take on the Rattler at SFFT? lol
Howler
I want Canyon Rapids back!
Wavepool.
Closed Tidal Force.
Maintenance making final preparations...
Ferris Wheel.
The not yet open Boardwalk.
Lightning Racer.
Wildcat.
The opening crowd...
-
Good TR--last year, Batwing was "B T Wing." They seem to have a lot problems with signage at SFA. I've had fun at this park, too, when it isn't too crowded.
Agreed. Operations are horrible, maintenance doesn't have a clue, and nobody is even keeping up with the signs?
I swear I hate this park, that's why I stopped going. I actually refuse to call this my home park (even though it is) and consider Hersheypark to be because it's much, much better.
I would not be sad to see this park go, with Wild One relocated of course.
-
^ I went on Wednesday. An employee on Lightning Racer told me that it's not going to open until June. Bummer. I should do a trip report since I took so many pictures.
