The Golden Ticket Awards
Jerrykoala2112 replied to FeelTheFORCE's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I would expect at least 1 Six Flags park to get an award... Not that I am surprised they didn't win anything, but does no one see anything good or "the best" in a Six Flags park so many years in a row? -

What wasn't finished on the station? The whole roof. -

What about a whole new kid's area....? (With a possible new credit?) I noticed they didn't finish Pilgrims Plunge's station, I hope they finish that up this off season (along with the Timberliners) and that'll be enough for me! -

After visiting Six Flags St. Louis, Silver Dollar City, and Worlds of Fun, the last park I would visit on this trip would be Adventureland. I gotta say it was a pretty nice park, I wouldn't call it amazing or worth coming back to unless they got something new. I did get my 200th credit on the Dragon! I found it very intense and the ending has got to be one of the best coaster endings ever. The park's layout is also easy to navigate through (except the island with the rapids) and has a new water park included with admission. Also, does anyone know why we have to double up on Rainbows? The one at Six Flags St. Louis and Adventureland, the ride ops made us double up... thanks! Here are my roller coaster reviews.... Tornado: It was actually a really fun wooden roller coaster! The out and back layout was implemented well but the layout did seem a little short (didn't bother me...) and wasn't too rough. Oh yeah, no station gates! Dragon: This was my 200th credit! And it was definitely the best coaster in the park! The prelift was a little bad, but the drop, loops, and ending helices were totally awesome. I could care less who built the ride, it has a well designed layout which makes for a totally kick ass ride. The Underground: I definitely didn't see it as good as Fire in the Hole, but for Adventureland, it was a great indoor coaster. If you wat to experience the scenery to the fullest, sit in the front. Outlaw: The only let down of the park. I thought it would be a Gwazi sort of coaster, not really. It was a little slow, and the layout didn't give off much (no airtime...) Adventureland has one of these dandy chairlifts that soar into the middle of trees. Tornado is a fairly fun sized out and back woodie, but still has a unique layout. Sadly, not too much airtime. Turnaround didn't have a lot of shuffling. This picture reminds me of all the abandoned woodies out there, rotting away. The park isn't huge, so you can see Tornado pretty much anywhere around the park. I think this ride is called Gaunlet, but I didn't care enough to ride it... Sawmill Splash was pretty bad. Lots of spinning during the helices, and the splash was pretty small... Outllaw has a great atmosphere, the ride itself, not so much. No, it wasn't shaky... This does remind me of a GCI woodie with PTC trains... Nope, Not a lot of laterals here... The rapids were a little lame, but still worth riding. I was just happy the water wasn't brown. The Underground: An above ground indoor roller coaster. I love these space shots! There it goes!!! Didn't ride, but trust me, this park has a ferris wheel. The paratrooper at Indiana Beach is better. It doesn't have a big slant either... The train is pretty cool though. This would be the Dragon! Loop! The park is very well kept, and it beautiful for taking pictures like these... Believe it or not, this was the worst part of the ride. Very, very fun! This shot turned out really nice. There was a fire here. I feel like they should keep it open like this because if they built it back with buildings, it will be all cramped up again... This dude needs a girlfriend. The only log flume where you get the most wet on the little predrop. I think I've grown onto riding log flumes. Oh man, Break Bances are so fun! The only other one I remember riding was the only at Six Flags New England back in 2004, but I was told it was removed... This year new to Adventureland was the water park! I only had a chance to ride two slides though. If you wanted to wait an hour for slides that aren't that special, then you should ride one of these! I rode the Orange and Yellow slide. It was terrible, they installed speed bumps on the ride and it was quite uncomfortable... I thought they would be better. Last picture... An alright slide. The bigger tornadoes are better... -

So after Silver Dollar City, on Tuesday August 10th, I went to Worlds of Fun! I wasn't expecting much from this Cedar Fair park, and I didn't get much out of it. The coaster collection was alright, it could use another major coaster, but still is a great park to live by in Kansas City. Maybe my visit to Silver Dollar City visit the previous day shunned this park all the way to the toilet, it was just nothing special. Let's just get to the roller coaster reviews... Spinning Dragons: I was told to ride this first thing in the morning, so I did. I waited around 15 minutes but later in the day, it was a walk on. I actually liked it, my brother and I sat next to each other and got the most intense spinning I ever experienced. I still like the original one at Nickelodeon Universe, but these spinners are just too darn fun! Patriot: It was a very nice invert! I found it better than the Batman clones, and towards the end of the ride, there was this turn that really hurt my legs. Most forceful turn on any invert I've been on, and that white stripe on the track was sweet. Timber Wolf: I love this ride! I rode it again and still loved it. Definitely better than Prowler, in my opinion. It was almost 100 that day (I didn't mind) and they had sprinklers all over on the coaster track with pretty much made the "wet woodie" very much enjoyable! No much shuffling and totally want to go back just for this! Mamba: The death healix was definitely the climax of the ride! The bunny hops weren't too bad, MCBR didn't grab, but Magnum takes a giant poop on this ride. Rode it twice in the back. Boomerang: Made me sick. Meh. Prowler: A let down. It didn't have as much airtime as I thought it would (rode in front and back) but still was pretty tame. Evel Knievel 2 days earlier was so much better. I did love the little triple up bunny hops, but otherwise, the ride is pretty repetitive till it rolls into the station. My hotel was across the highway and this was the view. The hotel was a piece of junk. Pretty cool, eh? This Asian part of park. It has Asian fountains, dragons, and a Panda Express to complete the area! So how many parks have this color scheme now? I'm glad they didn't pair us up with strangers, I don't like staring at strangers while spinning... Twisty. Everything was running one cart (except Spinning Dragons) so sorry if a lot of my pictures don't have carts! I love the random sightings of Patriot throughout the park. I love the layout of this ride, pretty unique if you ask me. It has weird elements throughout the ride. Screw my terrible photo taking skills! Don't ask me why you are still reading this. More twisty! This park is full of twisty. I'm glad there aren't any Patriot clones out there (if Talon is one, please slap me) because that would definitely ruin the charm of the ride. The path to Prowler is a dead end! Meow. The queue and path area looks very nice. I would consider this the "generic" theme. You've seen this photo so many times in so high definition. It just so happens that my camera only has 4 times zoom! I understand the Prowlers pounce, and pounce, and pounce, but this ride was still a let down! My favorite photo of the trip! The train ride is really great. If only Chicago traffic can go as fast as this train! Seriously, the train is crazy and totally worth reriding! (Rode it twice!) This photo actually makes the ride look... awesome. It was a smooth boomerang, but the first one to actually make nauseous. Even if there are 50 other ones around the world, they still have great potential to be a great ride! The area around Boomerang has the best theming around the park. The lights all around the park were also pretty nice. Fury of the Nile... lets move on. I give major praise to parks that keep these awesome logos on the side of the train. I rode Mamba twice in the back, very decent ride! If the helix was a stand alone ride, it would be the best ride in the park. One train operations didn't bring down my day! The only photo I got of Timber Wolf, I loved this ride. Better than Prowler, and the random sprinklers all over the ride really helped. This ride was closed, and this trip report is finally ending! If you read this, go buy a cat. -
The "activity pool" at Timber-age Lodge is just a regular pool (big pool) that has basketball hoops with smaller slides leading into it. Also with waterfalls fountains etc... Even if SFGAm created a second entrance, the picture says it will still remain included with park admission, so it won't be a separate ticket
-
This ride seems like a great addition! Six Flags Over Georgia has a GREAT collection of coasters already! The only sluggish thing about SFOG was the park's operations... Euro Fighters don't have the best operations, and with no flash pass, better run to the coaster first thing in the morning I'll try to visit SFOG in the next 2 years, definitely worth going back!

SF 2011 season passes and parking
Jerrykoala2112 replied to sros1fan's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Wow! You used you're 2011 parking pass already? I thought it was a huge step forward a couple of years ago when Six Flags starting allowing parking passes to be accepted at all parks. I hope they reconsider and that Cedar Fair doesn't follow suit. Im more amazed that he used his 2011 Six Flags Season Pass at a non Six Flags park Back in 2006, SF Elitch Gardens didn't allow a regular Six Flags parking pass... and I forgot this was for 2011 -
SF 2011 season passes and parking
Jerrykoala2112 replied to sros1fan's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
My parking pass worked at all the Six Flags parks except Elitch Gardens (I think the parking was owned by someone else, like SFKK?) But I know at SFSTl, your parking pass doesn't get you preferred parking -
Bearable. That's when the crowds really start the pick up. But about the topic on this page... I've been going to Six Flags Great America since I was a month old and have been getting Six Flags passes since I was too old to go in for free, and I am still not bored of the park. I will admit that I do find some rides to be boring and don't ride the ride for awhile (Raging Bull and Superman) but then I ride it later and enjoy it more than I did before. But I still have yet to get bored of the park as a hole.

Hades has a very intense pre-lift. Really fun and includes a double down, I would ride the coaster again just for the prelift.

That log flume looks fantastic! The Intamin Drop Tower in your trip report is something I am not a fan of. They accelerate towards the ground slower than the regular ones, but still fun. Desert Race does look fantastic though! (And Colossus too!)

Thanks everyone for the comments, that homepage feature really made my month! But now is the time for a new photo trip report! So I went to Silver Dollar City on August 9th, and had a *super* fantastic time! The park is outstanding, theming and ride wise, and the atmosphere is just so hard for any other parks to beat. Silver Dollar City does have the Marvel Cave, but little did we know that the tours ended at 3:30 (park closed at 6 that day) so we never had a chance to go. I wasn't too mad because I've been to so many other caves... Also, the park maps are just excellent! They are in the form of a newspaper, totally classy, I know. Here are my ride/roller coaster reviews! Fire in the Hole - 30 Minutes - I am not sure if any of you know, but the dalmatian that use to sit in the station passed away last year, which totally made me sad (but didn't ruin my day..) That ride itself, it's great! I was beginning to think that the layout was just gonna remain flat, but we just slowly got higher and higher. The ending really scared me, along with the water and strobe lights! Fantastic. Tom & Hucks River Blast - 50 minutes - What a fantastic Splash Battle! It's definitely better than Buccaneer Battle, although doesn't have such a high capacity. There are so many targets, but the ride is really long and my arm got tired really quick. The layout is unique, and many people on the midway were squirting us. I got soaked on this, which was really nice because it was close to 100 that day. The only let down on the ride was that some of the targets were just stickers, but more than half of them had amazing effects when you squirt them! ThuNderaTion - Walk on - It was running one cart, but it will wasn't a long wait. I first rode it backwards, and it is probably my favorite mine train! I rode it a 2nd time to ride in a forward seat, and it does have a great layout! (I love how the roller coasters are on the side of a giant hill!) I swear the coaster never got 10 feet off the ground! It also has a VERY fast paced layout, even when exiting the station, the lift hill doesn't come until 3/4 way through the ride! Lost River of the Ozarks - 60 minutes - Amazing! Theming, wetness, all just top notch. The line seemed endless, but definitely worth it! I will admit, I didn't get wet until the very end in the tunnel, that's where the big rapids are. Probably one of my favorite river rapids I have been on. Barn Swing - 20 minutes - I love all these S&S Giant Swings! This is one of the smaller ones (like the one at Liseberg) and it was still great! They were only running one arm when I rode, but the line was still moving really fast. The part when it swings over 90 degrees is just the greatest! Wildire - 20 minutes - So I did a little research before coming to the park and found out that the back gives the best airtime. So I got in line for the back and did not regret it! I usually prefer the front, but when a majority of the people say the back is best, I follow. The airtime was insane! The layout was also really fun, short but sweet. Wildfire is also on the side of a hill, which makes me prefer this ride over Kumba. It was only running one cart, but these B&M carts are such people eaters. American Plunge - 10 minutes - I will admit, the ride itself was a bit boring. There is a really long tunnel of nothing, which made me want to get off. The theming on this ride is OK. But that drop, woooh!!! As soon as you hit the water, water just shoots up from all around you! (None if it is jets though, all are from the impact of the log on the water!) I got soaked, but loved that part! Powder Keg - 25 and 10 minutes - Definitely a top 10 coaster *for me at least* !!!! The launch is great, airtime is great, name is great, and overall, just great! The ride is very fast paced (up to the lift hill) and the airtime is awesome! That really long turn leading into the lift hill has got to be the best turn ever. You are just curving down a mountain side with trees around you and you just don't know where you are heading to. I just didn't like the lift hill, it ruined the speed of the ride. The part after the lift hill could have been a little better too, but still a top 10 ride! Just a note, I rode front first, then back, both are worth it, but I loved the front because of the launch and all the wind. Now here are the pictures I took. Please note, that the rides are so well hidden away from the midway paths, that it was nearly impossible to have a tree-free shot. The Barn Swing has the best theming on any Barn Swing that I have been on! I guess the one coming to Dollywood will be just as good or better. Huge props for the park for having the queues mostly shaded. Especially for this ride. Later in the day, they started using both sides, but I never had a chance to ride it again. Best part of the ride! Here is my really crappy picture of the Lost River of the Ozarks. Trust me, the ride is so much better than this picture! I think this was a REALLY well themed water playground for kids. I didn't go in because we didn't have enough time, even though we were there for the whole day. Wildfire is hot. They have this neat-o boardwalk that can get you great shots of the ride. Look at what's behind the coaster! I think it goes upside down 5 times in a very short amount of time, very awesome! This would be the cobra roll. Cobra roll with train. When the track isn't doing an inversion, it's hugging the ground! Here is the cart for Powder Keg. I did not take a picture, but what is that bomb looking stuff on the back of the train? I think this is for roll backs, please correct me if I'm wrong! I rode it in the back and front, both are super, but front is better! Very, very, very, very, very, smooth ride! No jerkiness either! Props to S&S for creating such a master piece. Silver Dollar City has amazing stuff happening all around the park. We stopped in the glass blowing shop for awhile. You can also watch blacksmiths and weavers etc... This ride is totally invisible from the midway, so this picture will have to do. Like I said, best arrow mine train I have been on! Very fast paced, backwards is also really scary! The only theming I noticed on the log flume was on the drop. Those people are about to get all wet. (GOOD!) The splash is immense! I'd definitely ride it again, but just for the splash. That was it for my Silver Dollar City photos. But 10 minutes away is Celebration City, which is still standing there, my hotel was right next door to it. Almost made me cry. Hopefully, some park can adopt Ozark Wildcat. -
I think German fairs have better flat rides than half the parks in the U.S... makes me uber jealous that you went! The inverted wild mouse does look a little fun though!
