  1. Gross. I love Urban Dictionary... On a different note, I'm very fortunate to live in a state that isn't known for a single stereotype.
  2. Awesome! I am a huge Premier fan, so I'm glad to see that they are putting more and more projects out into the world. I wonder what the trains for this coaster will look like...do they still make the Mr. Freeze-style cars (which I love)?
  3. Also, keep in mind, this train was stopped at the MCBR. Usually, the coaster runs trim-free.
  4. Wait, I don't understand... Where does it say they are re-naming Expedition GeForce?
  5. I'm much more upset over the fate of the (more unique) Ultra Twister.
  6. Jordan...are you confusing this with the Heide Park (dive machine) project?
  7. Kentucky brethren---let us ban together to help bring a brand-spankin'-new SUSPENDED COASTER to our beloved park! http://apps.facebook.com/polldaddy-polls/?view=poll&id=3998061
  8. First of all, I'd like to wish you luck on this project. I can't wait to see what all you have planned, and how everything progresses. Key elements of a wooden coaster, to me, include (in order of most to least important): -Many instances of strong airtime -Long tunnels taken at high speed -Flying through the structure/being surrounded by supports on all sides -Straight (non-twisting) first drops -Double-ups/downs My favorite opening to a wooden coaster is featured on The Boss at Six Flags St. Louis. At the top of the lift hill is a tight turnaround followed by a long, steep drop into a straight, downward sloping segment of track that is surrounded by structure, which leads into another dip that reaches all the way to the ground before the track finally starts to rise again. I would absolutely love it if you incorporated this thrilling sequence in your coaster. You can check it out in the video below. (Located between 0:55 and 1:15 seconds.) A never-before-seen element (I just came up with it) that I would love to see you use is a set of back-to-back, 90 degree-banked (in opposite directions), zero-g camelback hills. This element includes the airtime, laterals, and quick changes in direction that enthusiasts live for. I'll include some concept images at the bottom of my post. Thank you for asking us for suggestions and considering our opinions! Here you can see both camelback hills, each one banked 90* in a different direction. Here is a frontal view of the element...which I personally think looks very cool. Haha
  9. I just landed the role of Joseph in our school's production of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolored Dreamcoat! It should be quite a large show, with over 40 cast members and a great crew. The musical is being choreographed by Mr. Jim Hesselman, who is a Broadway professional, and definitely knows his stuff. (I've worked with him before in Bye Bye Birdie and Anything Goes...both great shows, thanks to this awesome guy!) Rehearsals begin next week. I am INCREDIBLY excited!
  10. Steve...please make that shirt. I will buy it. Instantly.
  11. HAHA! I actually had this same thought earlier today...but didn't post it to avoid looking stupid. So...thank you.
  12. We might all be taking this a little too far, but...I couldn't resist this time. FRONT BACK
  13. ^They must not have heard about Pony Express...
  14. Actually, in the concept model on Intamin's page (link below), that particular Ball Coaster design can run up to 6 cars at a time, and has a capacity of 960pph. Isn't that greater than, or at least equal to, the capacity of the ZacSpin coaster going into SFMM next year? http://www.intaminworldwide.com/iag/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=47&Itemid=32
  15. No, I absolutely don't believe that, and I never said that they would. I just said, if they don't fully explain the theme, no matter what they put on the ad, A LOT of people will interpret "Cheetah Hunt" to mean hunting cheetahs. Certainly not all of them will...but based on the Facebook page and testimonies in this thread alone, I don't understand how you can disagree...
  16. ^Based on the videos of the Tower of Terror re-do, yes, you will be thrown...forward?...when the train launches. But, if Superman's trains are like ToT2's, there will be shoulder straps to keep you from slamming your face into your knees.
  17. This is a serious question...have you actually ridden it?
  18. Thanks for providing that link. I've been aware of the Intamin Ball concept for some time, but I hadn't really looked into it enough to fully grasp the concept...and wow. Now that I've seen that video, I am pumped for some park to pick up one of these rides!
  19. I absolutely agree with you, there is no doubt that was sped up. In fact after it crests the hill it seems to dramatically slow down. If it were going that fast, it would be pulling at least 2 negative g's at the crest of the hill. "No doubt", huh? You are soooooo sure? Would you bet your left testicle on it? I'm sorry, but...the resemblance between this post and my member title is uncanny.
  20. Wow, thanks for sharing that, gforce! Amazing view.
  21. I agree with this...but how many people (who will visit Busch Gardens next year) do you think will actually read the press release for this coaster? Much of park's potential audience may only be exposed to the new addition through a billboard advertisement or something similar, and unless a paragraph explaining the coaster's back-story is provided on the ad, the theme will be left up to interpretation by every individual that sees it. With just a picture of the animal, some track, and a "Cheetah Hunt" logo, more likely than non, a LOT of those people will assume that the coaster is themed to hunting cheetahs. You can make fun of our intelligence all you want, telling us to enjoy our lives as fast-food employees, or to ride the short bus back to school (as some of the Facebook name-defenders have suggested), but there is no denying that for many people, this was/is the first reaction upon hearing the name. Heck, even Robb and Elissa had this initial thought. Do you realize who all you are insulting? When I told my parents, "We have to get to Tampa next spring; Busch Gardens is building a huge new coaster called Cheetah Hunt," their first comment was, "Is it legal to name a ride that?" And yes, I know we're from Kentucky...but we aren't idiots. I personally think this coaster looks great---I'm probably looking forward to it more than any other state-side addition for 2011. It reminds me of Powder Keg (except this has OTSR's...but really, when was the last time Intamin added a major coaster in the US that didn't utilize these restraints?), which is one of my favorite coasters I've ridden. BUT, if "a name is just a name," as many of the defenders, including Busch Gardens, have stated...why not change it? Why risk the bad publicity if the title doesn't really matter? It just doesn't add up to me... BTW, Bonemachine, this post wasn't aimed at you or anyone in particular. I'm just trying to present my personal view on the matter.
