  1. Wow. Remind me not to get on your bad side.
  2. I think this is a great idea. I had actually thought about this recently and how it could have saved me hundreds of dollars on my upcoming SoCal trip. I think you might get more response if you make the topic title a bit more descriptive.
  3. I'm going to have to agree with Joey on this one. Take the Universal resorts and Revenge of the Mummy, for example. Building the "same" coaster at both parks didn't take anything away from the additions. If anything, it gave enthusiasts a large incentive to visit both Orlando and Hollywood, while regular visitors had no idea another version even existed somewhere else (and if they did, they didn't care). Now building two Windseekers at two competing parks four hours away from each other in the same year...that may be a different story.
  4. But it's more than just cycling trains/cars a few times. The state also has to come out and approve the rides...and inspectors don't just dash out to parks on a whim.
  5. Have a great trip! Based on recent visits, both parks are in great shape and crowds shouldn't be too bad for you.
  6. That's what I've been thinking all along. It seemed like a...strange...move in the first place. I can't help but feeling the fair board should've just stuck with Hart and let him do what he could from the get-go. Now he's not coming back, Holiday World has no reason to care, and surely no one else is interested. Bad moves on everyone's parts. (Except for the Koch's---I'm guessing this whole deal hasn't/won't hurt them in any way?)
  7. Superman: Ultimate Flight up at SFDK hasn't begun testing, either...and it's supposed to open in a week. Gooooooo Six Flags!
  8. My guess is he had gone throughout the entire day with employees noticing but not enforcing this policy (as he suggests has always been the case) and then he finally reached a ride that happened to be staffed with a op who "cares"...and I applaud said ride op for doing so. But I still think the whole situation is incredibly unfortunate on many levels.
  9. The park already announced there will not be free parking because "they won't have control over the parking lot."
  10. The lack of what I assume we all assumed was sarcasm makes this even more hilarious.
  11. I just feel like this is a COMPLETELY different situation. The Superman accident involved a man who had had his legs amputated above the knee. In this Texas Giant case, the man was simply without fingers. The restraint systems for both coasters are mainly composed of lap bars. It seems obvious to me that the man's lack of legs on Superman would compromise his safety...but a lack of fingers on Texas Giant? Not so much. I agree that the park made the SAFE decision...but I'm not so positive it was the necessary one.
  12. ^Yes, my confusion definitely stemmed from a combination of your inferences and Gregg's use of the tongue-wagging-smiley-face. So I officially hate you both for life.
  13. If you have to wait over an hour for ANY ride (including TTD) on a Wednesday in early-mid June, I will be absolutely, utterly flabbergasted.
  14. I think he was trying to make a joke, but it wasn't very funny because I'm from Kentucky and my June 27th visit to the park will probably be the only one I make...ever. So there's that.
  15. You shouldn't have a problem at all. I went yesterday (Sunday, June 10th) and absolutely everything except Millennium Force, Maverick, and Top Thrill Dragster was a walk-on. MF's line was 15 minutes, Maverick's was 30, and I can't tell you what TTD's was because we ran to it as soon as the park opened. And Mean Streak is still very, very rough. And boring. My best advice is to pick a non-wheel seat (front seat of the car) somewhere near the back and brace yourself...and your organs.
  16. So if the grand opening is June 30th, but Media Day is the 27th, when is (most likely) the absolute earliest that regular guests will be able to ride?
  17. Are Revolution's current trains the original ones (with added OTSR's)?
  18. Ah, I'll be at SFMM the 26th and 27th! So close! I'm just going to pray for a soft opening of LL:DoD and Superman. If worse comes to worst, I'll ride the Sky Tower and pretend like I'm dropping really, really fast...
  19. The first night of the event was GREAT! Can't wait for tomorrow, and I'm excited to see the rest of your report.
  20. Except it's not a very large expansion. They added a wave pool. I don't understand how they can add a second pool and get away with marketing it as "doubling the size of the water park!!!"
  21. I believe you are both saying the same thing.
  22. While prices continue to soar, people aren't making any more money. I don't understand this economic model.
