I cant believe another death.
Well I think deaths caused by ride accidents are at a normal rate this year. But deaths attributed to riding seems to be higher than normal this year. Or maybe its one of those things were it has happend at more well know parks and rides.
Anyway cant believe the amount of strange accidents and deaths that have occured this year.
Looks like a good time to start a Coaster Enthusiast Insurance program. So you are covered in the unlikely event you are killed by at or on a coaster.

Thanks for the great photos BGWFREAK. Saves me a trip out to the park seeing as it aint worth stopping in the town. I emailed the park last year and was told the coaster was down. Wonder how long its been closed.

Very strange incident. Amazed that the maintainance crew would leave a board laying around, all though they may have thought there was no way for the board to move. My biggest fear while riding these coasters we all love is being hit by something. Large bird or like this a board. Even bugs hurt on some of the faster rides as many of you know. I cant imagine being smacked in the head by a board.
Ouch gota hurt!

I must say I do like some of the more recent Zero G rolls on many of the newer B&Ms. So my favorite element is also a B&M manuver. My favorite element is the batwing on Montu and Top Gun at Carowinds. I love the amount of force they have expecially on Montu even more so with no trim.

Xcelerator sometimes has a fluctuation in speed (pulse) toward the end of its launch.

Looks like the above news link also added the statement below to the news story. I will have to watch the news tonight and see if they have anything in the news.
Busch gardens released a "Media Statement" stateing:
Busch Gardens is saddened that park guest Thomas Welch of Palm Harbor died after suffering an apparent heart attack while visiting the park on Monday, July 24. We extend our deepest sympathy to the Welch family.
Mr. Welch asked park attendants for assistance after exiting the Gwazi roller coaster. He was responsive when First Aid arrived two minutes later, but subsequently required CPR, which was initiated immediately. First Aid also applied an Automated External Defibrillator (AED) to monitor Mr. Welch's heart activity

Guess the lawsuits are to be expected especially when it looks like the park is at fault.
I wonder if the people sueing are sueing for millions and being greedy or sueing for bills and some extra.
-
Grew up ridding the track style (SFOT) where you go round and round but most of the time people just went all over the place including wrong direction.
Ever get one of those cars that just turns in a circle. Your whole ride is a waste as people just plow into you.

The park the new flyer is in has just opened. There is one photo of the flyer looks like it goes up into a mountain.

The park will probably be light in crowds. The water park may draw more people then the amusement park but havent been in a while.
Last year during the summer months the rides were basikally a walk on. Or minimal wait. The park is mostly small kiddie rides with a few thrill rides. The coasters are family type rides and are usually open when the park is open.
You will do everything in the park in only a few hours unless you really walk slow.
If you are into water parks then you may want to bring a suit. The have a wave pool and several slides, overall its a pretty fun small family park.

Opening year of TTD. Waited for 3 hours on concrete sidewalk outside the Q line in the hopes it would open. Next day waited 2 hours in the Q line then a shut down but waited 1 more hour then went and rode MF. So almost 6 hours over 2 days. Didnt get to ride it until last year.

Grey outs on Titan during Media Day. After many rides on it you would feel the grey out. Its so weird how the world just kinda fades away in your vision and how your brain just kinda forgets what its doing.
-
Sweet where does the Q line start. I was hopeing to get a chance to ride it incase the ride is done away with.

For me its any Arrow loopers, the transistions between elements. They dont seem to flow more like snap into an element.

There is another article that Coasters and More has done on the Ball coaster. This one is similar to the article posted on page one of this tread which is from the 2006 show. This article is from the 2005 show. Shows some more photos and some future track designs.
Its about in the middle of the page.

Thanks BEEMER
Hey Julie got some photos for you.
Well as for the ride experience. I would say that the Rumbler is a nice cross between the Ozark Wildcat at Celebration in Branson and Thunderhead. The ride is relentless just like Thunderhead is but has a very similar layout to the Ozark Wildcat. I love the MF trains that GCII uses. Otherwise Rumbler is very wild and for me ranks higher up on my ride list because of its midsize. I prefer steel rides as I dont care much for wood but will ride um. For a good midsized woody that dont beat you up and has some good air and lotsof quick change of pace. I think Beech Bend has a winner on there hands.
Okay more photos are up on my site and a small write up of the days activities. Photos of people at the event the ribbin cutting and photos of some of the other rides at the park.
Plus there are a couple photos of Dragon coaster stalled on the tracks and some photos of park emplyees giving it a push.
Anyway to see more photos from the event go here http://www.johnnyupsidedown.com/eventBB2.html
Enjoy .

Hi gang.
Well, I was out at Beech Bend in Bowling Green Ky. for the Kentucky Rumbler Media Day event. Around 100 enthusisast from DAFA, ACE and the RCCGB arrived for rides on the new Rumbler. Short write up as I am still working on more photos and my write up from the event. Anyway I have a bunch of photos of the Rumbler up on my site www.Johnnyupsidedown.com. Or go straight to the photos here http://www.johnnyupsidedown.com/new2006r1.html
More photos later as I also have photos of all the people and other rides at the park and my write up of the event which I will have up later. So for now the main photos of the Rumbler are up on my site and more later.
Enjoy

Want to take a spin on Patriot. The Kansas City Star has an article about the Patriot roller coaster. There are several parts to the story and well one of the interviews is with me I am John Wiencek.
