  1. I'm sure that it will be popular for a long time. I arrived on Friday night shortly after 6 and promptly got in line, it was about 6:15 and the line was just past the basketball game. I was on by 8:30 and that is including two periods of testing and a short period of about 10 minutes when no trains were going. It looks like they went into high gear after that down period and got alot of people through. Thought the Behemoth crew did a great job considering this was their first night with the public. Plus it was highly amusing watching those people on the trains coming into the final break run screaming "It was worth it!" and cheering. It a great ride that is long overdue for the area.

  2. Hey Southpuddle, what is the best B&M Hyper in your opinion? I haven't rode many and thought Nitro was actually pretty fun, I liked the twistiness before the MCBR and especially liked the finishing bunny hills after the MCBR . Was actually thinking that Behemoth's layout was a bit more simple than Nitro's. But all in all still totally AMPED that there will be a B&M Hyper close by!!!!

  3. This is an interesting question. I think that I have always had some sort of innate like of rollercoasters. When I really think of it I remember being obsessed with the film Rollercoaster when it came out (a film about derailing trains no less). I checked and that was 1977... so I was 7 years old. I remember drawing my own rollercoasters on paper during childhood and even animating them to a certain extent by cutting slits in the paper so I could make the trains follow small parts of the track. I did speeches on amusement parks back in grade school and at the time thought that I might become a rollercoaster designer (didn't realize at that age the engineering aspect of it). I rode my first coaster when I was 11 when Canada's Wonderland opened. I kind of wained for a bit during the teen/university years but I have always considered a REAL vacation as including coasters. I guess my interest got re-ignited with the invent of the Invert. So coasters have almost always been a part of my life.

  4. In recent memory, it would be waiting for Tatsu at Magic Mountain. It was a crowded Saturday. Tatsu had mechanical problems or something and went down for a period of 20 minutes, then it's test cycles. We decided to wait for it as it was the end of the day and we still hadn't had a ride. Our complete wait ended up being something like 3 hours.

But god, oh god, the wait was worth that first experience dive bombing into Tatsu's pretzel loop.

Thankfully this was also our first day of our week in California so we were able to return a couple more times and wait a VERY acceptable 30 to 45 minutes for our subsequent rides.

  5. Ok, I made another change.

I know a lot of you said "bigger pictures" but I wonder if it was the picture size or the image ratio. Have a look at this:

    http://www.themeparkreview.com/

Look at the left side versus right side. Which size of pictures do you like better?

And as for the border, don't worry, the PHP version will not have them all so smashed together.

I vote for left side pictures Robb. (I was just checking out the videos page, it seems really clean. Maybe this is an example for the future Front page).

I also like the bigger font for the links.

Just curious you will still include "click here for older updates" at the bottom of the front page right??

  6. Okay I'll put my two cents in...

    1. What do you find most useful about the front page?

Able to see very easily if there is a new update or announcement.

    2. What do you find least useful about the front page?

I think that would be the "Search Theme Park Review" bar.

    3. Is anything on the front page confusing?

Haven't been confused by the front page yet... so no.

    4. How far do you scroll down the front page looking for updates?

Not far since I check the site almost daily for new announcements or updates. Once I look at the front page I usually go to the forums page.

    5. How often do you look at the front page?

    Almost daily.

    6. How often do you click on the "whatsnew" link?

I have never clicked on the what's new link. I trust that you are going to highlight the big stuff on the front page so I usually don't bother. The front page is already the "what's new" page for me.

    7. What would you like to see added to the front page to make your visits to TPR better?

I'm not sure. Things are pretty good. Easy to navigate for the most part. Although at first I would always wonder where do I sign in. So maybe a highlighted sign in area.

    8. Anything else you would like to mention? Like any thing else you would like to see us add/change/leave alone/etc?

Maybe just a facelift to the site. I picture something clean and sleek looking, right now it's dark and a bit "boxy". Otherwise front page content is good. I really like the thumbnails included on the updates page. Keep up the emails for important announcements. Also like that you are highlighting birthdays on the site... very cool. Anything that you can do to make members feel a part of the group is really good.

  7. Canada's Wonderland I guess would be my home park since it's the closest. These days I am able to last maybe half a day before I get bored. It's nice for something to do but the coaster's are so small. Things are looking up with the addition of Behemoth but I think that I would look at replacing some of the coasters, Minebuster and Wilde Beast are just too rough for my aging bod these days. I would look at adding a B&M invert and maybe an Intamin prefab woodie like El Toro. Hmmm, while I am at it I would just create a B&M/Intamin coaster park, one of each of their models.

  8. Not sure if this would be considered a ride. But qeue lines that have benches built into one side all the way through the qeue. After walking all day would be nice to have a decent sit while we wait. Not sure about ideas about more stand up style coasters... for the same reason... after walking all day, and waiting in line, it is just good to have a seat when you finally board to ride. The last thing I want to do is stand up more on a ride. LOL

  9. Wow I say. Having just been to Magic Mountain last March I have to say these are some really good changes. I actually didn't find my trip to Magic Mountain all that bad when I went. The staff were were okay and didn't really find much to complain about there... however, having been to Cedar Point many times I have to say that their staff could teach many parks something about hospitality. Being made to laugh while waiting in line or participate in some type of crazy "whoot" off while we waited really does make the difference in changing a fun day to an exceptionally fun day. Hopefully MM can instill the same in their staff. Not only with the day to day but also in the benefits provided to keep them motivated. Definitely want to return to MM some day and these reports make me want to schedule it sooner rather than later.
