Let Me In...based on the Sweedish Book "Let Me In"... Blood-disgusting.com gave it a perfect review (along with Inside and Frontier(s).
Already sold in ten countries, Let Me In introduces a startling new talent from Sweden whose work is creating an international sensation. John Ajvide Lindqvist has been compared to such top horror writers as Anne Rice, Clive Barker, Neil Gaiman, Whitley Strieber, and last but certainly not least, Stephen King—American readers of vampire fiction will be thrilled!
It is autumn 1981 when the inconceivable comes to Blackeberg, a suburb in Sweden. The body of a teenage boy is found, emptied of blood, the murder rumored to be part of a ritual killing. Twelve-year-old Oskar is personally hoping that revenge has come at long last---revenge for the bullying he endures at school, day after day.
But the murder is not the most important thing on his mind. A new girl has moved in next door---a girl who has never seen a Rubik’s Cube before, but who can solve it at once. There is something wrong with her, though, something odd. And she only comes out at night. . . .

Funny Games 2008 has perfect casting for an image remake of the 97 version. The new red banded trailer shows how perfect Michael Pitt actually is for the role.
Have you seen other Michael Heneke films? Cache was fairly unique (I think Ron Howard is doing a US remake) and Time of the Wolf was just amazing!

^The movie actually had an ending. In the book version of the Mist the ending is left open. That is really the only major diffference.
-
I'm not sure if anyone else got the chance to see The Mist this weekend but if you get the chance it is a must see imho. The short story while good has nothing on the movie. The tension amongst those trapped is just terrifying and lets not even get me started on the most ANTI-Hollywood ending ever. The book left alit of the end to the imagination while the movie definitely ends the story in a fall on your face way.
Just note though that this is not a horror movie (most King stories are not horror anyway and more how people react to situations of the supernatural). This movie is much more of a conflict story and how people deal with the unknown. Sure there is blood and bugs but they are not the main characters to the story.
Anyway I hope people get the chance to see it at some point. We need to get rid of "torture porn" and back to the genre that gave us suspense and a few scares.

I am hearing so many mixed opinions on Halloween. I hear from one group that it is awesome and then I hear it is boring. I guess if you are a Rob Zombie fan and understand his take on horror films then you will enjoy it but if you are looking at a comaprison to the original then you will be disappointed.
Most people who I have heard commenting on the movie said that there were some intense scenes, so you are the first that told me a theatre was laughing.
No matter though, it will break holiday records and probably get close to the top 5 grossing R films of the year.

Funny I am a republican and do not hate gays. In fact I am one. I just think there are more important issues in the world for sexuality to be my focus.

Shame since Reno was so good IMHO. I looked forward to BoF. Hopefully Halloween won't disappoint me like I am expecting it to this weekend. I am also planning on seeing Ils (Them) this week.

Easily the funniest movie of the year. I was suprised at how the movie is recieving universal acclaim as it was the smuttiest/foul mouthed flick I have seen in many many years.
Michael Cera plays the perfect follow up to his George Michael Arrested Development character. It is obvious that he is the young Larry David when it come to awkward delivery and comedy that makes you uncomfortable. Seth's character is annoying but passable but his deficency is more than made up for with McLovin'. Talk about a future king of comedy. The facial expressions he gives consistently prove his worth as an actor. Truly an amazing talent.
Better than 40 yo virgin, detroys Knocked Up...this is truly Aptaow's best produced films.

Sunshine was a FANTASTIC movie. The change to slasher flick did not hurt the movie but it definitely was not necessary to keep it exciting. IT was easily the most claustrophobic and atmospheric SCI-FI movie I have seen in a very long time. Alex Garland and Boyle need to definitely continue the collaboration efforts.

When Togo went out of business SFGADV purchased its Viper parts from Premier Rides. It seems that when a ride company goes out of business someone picks up the product.

It was very close to the top of the series for me. I felt everything that was cut from the book was necessary to show the development of Harry, Ron and Herminoe.
I personally found the book to be way to bloaty and enjoyed the fast movie Yates film that was the outcome. Hopefully his vision in Pt 6 will be just as good.

I found all of the FD's to be fun. I felt the opening scene is part 2 was the best of the three.
I also forgot to include the HP films in my list. HP 3 and HP 4 were both fantastic with 3 being my favorite.

Best Sequel = 28 Weeks Later
Worst Sequel = HHE 2 (remake)
Best Prequel = Batman Begins

OMG Basket Case ! I have not seen or even thought of that movie in years!
Great comparison.

I am sure she would spout out some new 9/11 conspiracy theories instead of a spayed or neutered slogan.
She is a pig.

I just finished Black Sheep and thought it was a great camp fest. The movie has effects done by those who did the LOTR trilogy but they made them look like a B movie. Check it out if you can. Hopefully the bite scene at the end stays in (who knows with the MPAA) cause it is a classic.

I do not care what anyone says but Great Adventure has not been a "dirty" park by any means in well over a decade. Cleanliness was focused on when I worked there 96-98 and in 95 one of the best themed rides in the chain, Viper, was introduced.
The clientele may and will always be an issue with any "urbanized" park but come on now with the dirty claims.

I am not an Eli Roth fan but the gypsy children kicking the head is his twisted humor. It was a perfect end to a Roth flick.

Is it me or is the oh sh*t moment of El Toro missing (x-ross over thunder)? It seems to meander after the MC.
