Photo TR: Cinecitta World opening weekend
Hhappy replied to Hhappy's topic in Photo Trip Report Archive
it has an indoor coaster.. well the main street is back to the 20's style.. not sure if those streets had many trees back in the day. regarding the other areas, they are working at/looking at more shade/covering. it's a brand new park with brand new trees and green stuff, so it's going to take a little while before these grow in (and get bigger) -

So this weekend I got the chance to take a quick trip to Rome and visit Cinecitta World. This park opened July 24th this year (the Thursday before my visit) I was there on sunday. Had an awesome visit and a great tour around the park. I really liked the park for what it is. It has the different movie set area's which look good. It has 2 coasters (1o inversion and indoor), a mack water ride (which is always fun during the Italian summer) a drop tower and some other small stuff. The food options are good (fresh made) and there's always something to see when walking around. A small cowboy show in the spaghetti western area, or some singing in the roman restaurant during lunch time. The evening before my visit I drove by the park and it looked stunning with all the lights they have set up for the evening opening hours. Unfortunately I did not have the time to check out the park after sunset. Hopefully next time. The staff was giving their best and interested in learning new things. It felt like they were enjoying working at the park and felt connected to the park and making it an awesome place to visit. The park also has a pretty good show called Enigma. It's visually pretty good and entertaining. For the people that are interested in a deeper meaning behind the things you see.. it's there So yeah, great visit. The video's will follow soon Here is the video of Altair: But first, pictures looks like I made it now this looks like an entrance just a tiny bit of fog before opening the gates early 20's style mainstreet area small warming up show at the end of the mainstreet random film thing happening in the western area I love it when a parks invites their guests to join the fun so this train model might look familiar Darkmare the indoor coaster I love walking around darkrides when the lights are on this one has plenty of screens to keep you entertained and maybe even slightly confused during the ride it always surprises me how much track can be fitted in a certain area going up running through a wall so this is the "end"?? just a tiny bit of engineering time to cool down a little and go outside the area looks pretty good station building skloosh looks like a few people got a bit wet on this ride just another look next stop, drop tower water play area, always fun for kids and at night used for a fountain/projection show the drop tower was down for some fine tuning during my visit, but it got this view from inside i'll try to be quiet it's an elephant with a drop tower Erawan Lunch time time to check out Enigma smoke always helps big projections playing wit light dancing and multiplying how are you doing dj? playing with light and mirrors back to ancient rome haunted style and remember.. it's about the movies.. keep on singing making use of the stage hey, there's the elephant again I love the question mark the red scarf is a signature style thing of a famous Italian Director just like in the movies, credits time time to check out the big coaster at the park and it's 10 inversions lapbars are always fun different riding positions looking down the rolls here they come different rider reactions looking at the station inversion time final inversion Altair ride sign zig zag up the stairs lots of steel to look at almost at the top random riders up-side-down rolling so many small details to look at I really like how the coaster supports blend into the station building going up almost there going down final inversion outside of the station lifthill time for another quick lap through the park these stones are part of every western style area small picnic area another attraction (did not have the time today to check it out) indoor go-karts like area kids having fun kids area splash battle's are always fun it gives guests and riders the chance to interact typical kids area ride (one of many) looks pretty back to the water ride random riders here they come skloosh and yes, there is a soak zone more happy riders skloosh thank you so much for the visit and tour. Had a great time and how many parks do you know where they do a group photo in the soak zone?

time for another Grona Lund image. It does not matter where you look, there's always something fun/unique to see. -
The next day (day 3) we started with a drive to Skara Sommarland. Home to one of the weirdest coasters in the world... Tranan Compared to my visit in 09 the park added a spinning coaster. Such a fun place to be. Summertime at the waterpark has to be pretty good Anyway, picture time Back to looking at this weird but awesome coaster look, spinner Looks like they added some handle bars to the ride for all the tech geeks behind a tree just flying away here they come woohoo spare trains lots of blue steel looking down in the station midcourse area bottom of the lifthill going up station building but there's more to this park food place bouncy thing cable place for waterskiing, could be fun during the summer looking back across the lake water fun park map how many times has this happened during the tour?? one more look at the waterski/kneeboard place above the trees 2 trains best way to end the day?? Insane at Grona Lund (more Grona Lund in the next update)

I do like this park and look forward to a future visit. it's a beautiful morning true hammer time let's ride going down the first drop surprise surprise (I guess) airtime hands up if you have a great time so many things I could say... time to check out the rest of the park sweet more green (trees etc) around the ride provides some new angles big inversion lots and lots of steel but there's more Kanonen and then there's Balder next door.. hmmm Kanonen... Long story short.. things happened which made it not possible for me (at that time) to do the entire Scandi 2014 trip. But in the end I was able to visit for a few days. As usual everything was organized to perfection this tour and needless to say I had a blast. It also reminded me I should do more of these trips (opposed to what I had been doing most of the year) Being outside and in a foreign country (far away from home) with good company is such an awesome way to relax, un-stress and energize for the rest of the year... Had a blast. Anyway, picture time.. I usually take tons of pictures at parks, mostly with people having a great time on coasters in mind. Here's a couple of pictures from my Scandi visit. First up: Tusenfryd (see below) Day 2: Liseberg Day 3: Skara Sommarland First stop (for me) of this trip finally, after 5 years (long story) I got my ride on this GoGoGo launch time to roll a bit final turn who does not love a good launch expression? going down ehm... speed it is.. and yes.. it's an Intamin plenty of track to look at and here's a train bit of hairtime? ok, time to move on (for now) next stop was down the hill... a water ride bring on the poncho's work work work skloosh going down oops, there's a surprise (soak) bubbles expressions who's that in the back all wrapped up in poncho's? there they are Wanna ride again?? sure skloosh the latest big addition to this park (as far as I remember) tress, green, coaster track and a coaster train so yeah.. this thing is still there looks like they overshot the station.. time for a second ride once was enough (for me) more happy riders and.. here they go again and all of a sudden I heard some dutch in the park.. This group was at the park for a couple of months. new credit for me at the park (yippie) 2 train operation more speedmonster pictures?? why not spongebob gogogo scream if you like it over the escalator entrance but there's more lots of fresh timber joy, fear.. pick what you want/like Thunder Coaster it is digging the hair and yes.. there's air on this ride
-
Thanks for the heads up logging on right now
-
