  1. Why do they put Braille dots on the keypad of the drive-up ATM?
  2. ^^So is it like Europa in that (in this case) companies show off their rides, or is it like Prater Park in that the rides are owned by various companies, but it is more of a traditional park? Either way, this looks like one cool park. Just asking, was it Nasu or Mitsui that was the "coaster snow day" back in the 05/06 trip? Cool photos Lou, and it looks like you all had a great time on your trip to Japan.
  3. 10/10-most were easy, but I guessed on 3 or 4 of them
  4. Wow, this coaster is going to have a long pre-lift segment, and I am really impressed with how this coaster will look. Even though nothing new, which I don't have a problem with, this coaster is going to be unique, and it looks like a lot of fun. Thorpe Park has really transformed itself over the past few years, and this will add to an already great ride/coaster collection.
  5. I actually kind of like that building, and while not great, it isn't that bad. Sure I wouldn't want this anywhere near me, but it looks cool with its Soviet inspired architecture.
  6. Here are some renderings posted to RCPro:
  7. This looks and sounds like a pretty good ride, and going by the concept(and who owns the park), then the theming on this will turn out really well. The theming itself looks like a cross between Mystery Mine and Batman: the Ride, and it will be interesting to see how it turns out. I'm most interested in the layout of the ride, because going by the stats, there will be many elements in very little track length.
  8. Exactly, I keep thinking this is a joke as, like everyone else, Disney is not the company to buy a park. If by some chance this is true, then I bet La Ronde will be the one to become a Disney park.
  9. Have you been on both? Dodonpa's launch and airtime hill are pretty much the most ridiculous things ever. Shame on the place for getting something that "the gp will love." No, I haven't been on any S&S Thrust Air, but from what other site members have said, Thrust Air sounds like a coaster with problems. The airtime and launch on these things are supposed to be great, but the airtime is supposed to be very painful.
  10. Oh man, Flight Deck was an awesome name, why would they do this? Well, while I call it Afterburner, it is nice of Cedar Fair to come up with a somewhat decent name as Flight Deck was absolutely horrible. Afterburn(er), like Homer said, sounds much cooler and has greater marketing possibilities.
  11. Wow...another one of these horrible rides is being built? There is a reason only two(excluding Powder Keg) S&S launched coasters have been built, and this ride probably will be as bad as the two already out. Now, if something can be done about the roughness and the painful airtime, then this might be good. While the gp will love this ride, it just won't be as good as a launched coaster of this size could be. However, I'd still ride if given the chance as that launch should be amazing.
  12. ^Don't get upset so quickly. SFGAM's B:TR can be either really good, or it can be a horrible ride. When it is really hot out with high humidity, the ride can be very unpleasent, and the queue can make you feel like crap when the weather is like that. I've ridden B:TR in nice weather an have had a really good time, and I've ridden when it has been hot and humid out and have had a horrible ride. Slightly off topic, but I rode B:TR on a hot and humid day last year, and the queue was miserable. It was so bad that the station floor was covered in water, and it was even slightly foggy in the station. No other coaster's at SFGAM are like this, and I think that the coaster's location is because of this, because the station and queue are relativly enclosed, and there are many ponds around the coaster.
  13. Does anyone know if this is for 2008 or 2009? Oh well, this is great for the park, and a capacity nightmare like Deja vu will do well in a park like Silverwood. While this isn't the coaster I'd pick(I'd rather see a SLC, GCI, or Powder Keg type coaster), it is always good to see "smaller" parks expand. It is nice to see the region get a good steel coaster, and hopefully Silverwood finds a way to run it with minimal downtime.
  14. Hmm, it looks like Dark Knight and S:UF will share the exit queue at the end. While I'm a little upset that it won't be as themed as Scooby Doo in Australia, I am impressed with what SF is doing. I just hope they don't waste the 3.75 million in theming on the structure the building will be housed in. The trains look cool though, and is it just me, or is the lift enclosed in its own "room"?
  15. Adrenaline_Rush, the citizens of Dubai/UAE don't pay taxes. In fact, I think the government mays them because they have so much money, and the government also provides free healthcare and the like. Dubai looks absolutely amazing, and even though Al Bawandi won't look like the original model(which imo would have looked bad), it is still going to be an amazing part of Dubailand. My only concern is that they will have trouble convincing Europeans and Americans to go there due to its location. Oh well, less people in line in front of me when I go.
  16. Al Bawadi won't look like that, as the original model were more for shock value. Not even Dubai would build two Burj Dubais as well as duplicates of the next X number of the world's tallest buildings. Here is what it will actually look like: The only replica to my knowledge will be the Eiffel Tower(this might be somewhere else in the complex, and it will actually be taller than the original Eiffel Tower.
  17. I think I remember reading a while ago that this will be a Kanoen clone. However, if it is not a rocket coaster, I anticipate a euro-fighter as they seem to be what every park wants to add these days. Whatever it is though, it should be a lot of fun.
