This is either going to be a great slide or incredibly painful. While it looks like a lot of fun nonetheless, I'm just not sure that it will be able to operate for public use. I hope it does work though, but I'm just doubtful that it will. However, if it is able to work well, then hopefully water parks in America will open some. If this does work out, then I could se one in the Dells by 2010.

The worst line I ever waited in was for B:TR last August I believe. Now, anyone from Chicago will tell you that the weather is brutal in that time of year, and it was another one of those days. The queue was at its average length(ending in the queue house not far from the garden), but the weather is what made the wait so miserable. It was incredibly humid, and it was just really uncomfortable in line. The station was an even worse place to be. The humidity remained, but the floor was soaking wet with a slight fog.(not part of the theming)

Nice photos, and wow, Kinzel must really be in love with himself... Naming the queue house after himself is probably one of the lamest things he has done/come up with recently. Great trip report Jahan, and it was probably one of the funniest created in a while. The photos were good, and the narration and captions were great. If possible, could you please upload a high-resolution of the night photo of the Racer?

Hershey Hawaii [RCT3]
Airtime&Gravity replied to coasterdude5's topic in Roller Coaster Games, Models, and Other Randomness
I'm also confused, but I'm beginning to think that these two parks are really just one park. Maybe the hotel was re-themed with the addition of an indoor water park, and maybe there will be a small zoo area in the park. -

One last ride for Doppel Looping.
Airtime&Gravity replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
If this ride gets relocated, I could see it operating in either Magic Springs, Blue Bayu, or Alabama Adventure. Shame to see this ride go, but hopefully it will be able to find a permnant home. -
One last ride for Doppel Looping.
Airtime&Gravity replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
If you don't know what this coaster is, here is a NL POV of it. Doppel Looping POV It looks like a fun ride, and while it will be sad that this is its final season at the Dade County Fair, the reasons for it removal make sense. I'm sure there will be other large coasters at the fair next year, so it doen't seem like that big of a deal to me. -
Oakwood Discussion Thread
Airtime&Gravity replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
^Sorry to disappoint you, but Adventureland(Iowa) already has an indoor wooden coaster. Hopefully the new owners will be able to care for and expand the park as it does look like a nice park with some great rides. -
I'm not following what this would be. How would an amusement park section be different than "Theme Parks, Roller Coasters' and Donkeys" --Robb I meant, instead of just one section for roller coasters, maybe it should be broken down into a few more. Maybe if not by region, then into sections like discussion, news, and trip reports(not the archive).

One of a kind attractions?
Airtime&Gravity replied to Skramp's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Well, of course any ride at a Disney park is a must ride as their rides are unlike those at any other park. Then there are parks like Blackpool, Morey's Piers, and Indiana Beech which always seem to find room in which to place another ride. Then you have rides, that while not unique, are must rides just for how good they are. El Toro, Avalanche, and S:RoS are two great examples of must rides in this category. Sure you can find wooden coasters or hypers at many local and regional parks, but these rides offer an experience unlike any other coaster in the country. -
When you say "User Gallery" do you mean the ability for users to upload photos and videos (and not just one at a time on the forum)? Because that's actually one of the improvements that may be coming in the future. If I understand what you are saying, then yes. If you go over to RCPro, you'll notice that in each members profile is a feature for that members photos which can be organized into separate galleries. Yes. A revamp of the park index page is actually the next thing on my list after the front page. And for the first time, Theme Park Review may actually include *gasp* REVIEWS!!! --Robb I didn't mean the park index page, but rather the amusement park section of the forums. I do like the idea for reviews, but will anyone be allowed to write them? I'm just saying that if I was reading one, then I would want to read a review that was understandable and respectable, and not just a piece of crap like: "OMG MF is the best coaster ever! It is so fast with crazy airtime...etc."

1. What do you find most useful about the front page? Like everyone else, I like that it shows the best stuff on the boards. 2. What do you find least useful about the front page? Probably the search function 3. Is anything on the front page confusing? Not really as it is simple and straight foreward 4. How far do you scroll down the front page looking for updates? I usually catch every update, but if I'm away for a while, I scroll down until the most recent update that I remember. 5. How often do you look at the front page? Every day 6. How often do you click on the "whatsnew" link? Probably a few times a month 7. What would you like to see added to the front page to make your visits to TPR better? I don't think anything needs to be added to the front page as it is simple but effective 8. Anything else you would like to mention? Like any thing else you would like to see us add/change/leave alone/etc? I know you put a lot of time, money, and effort in to the site, and I respect that. Even though TPR doesn't really have to compete since it is by far the largest coaster community, some extra features could be added such as a user gallery. Also, I don't know how much work it would be, but would it be possible to organize the amusement park board section by region?(west coast, midwest, south, east, europe, etc.)

Oh well, outbreaks like this happen, and while I feel sorry for those who got sick, I don't think it is enough to sue over. I could see them wanting Six Flags to pay any medical expenses, but this is not anything that should result in a lawsuit. Maybe people should do what Elissa said and practice better hygiene... or maybe SF should put these signs up:

So Wild West World will now be like Pleasureland Southport but with western theming? Well it is nice that Wild West World has been saved, and hopefully the new owners will be able to run it better that the Ethredges. Does anyone know what happened to the coasters that used to be at the park, or are they still there. I bet some a Pinifari coasters might make it to this park, and who knows, maybe they'll get that wooden coaster in a few years.

Hersheypark Announces Fahrenheit!
Airtime&Gravity replied to Meteornotes's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
When the layout was first released, I thought it resembled Speed Monster a lot, and it seems like a lot of other people did too. As great as this coaster will be, it seems a little out of place at Hershey Park, but maybe that is just me. With Speed Monster close by, it has a sort of repetitive look to it. If this was going to Lake Compounce or a park like SFGAM as it would stand out as there would be no similar looking rides around.(let alone in the same park) That being said, this will still be a great ride, and even though it looks similar to Storm Runner, Fahrenheit should be a great addition to Hershey Park. If anyone is interested, RCPro has added an update of construction. RCPro Update -

Choose thy fate... Gardaland 2008
Airtime&Gravity replied to BDG's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Even for a family coaster, Mammut doesn't seem to do much until after the third lift, and even then, it is cut short with the final brake run. The ride itself looks great with all of the theming, and even though I think it is great for a park to add a family coaster, Mammut seems exceptionally boring for a ride of its size. It looks like it could be such an awesome ride, and the pov just seemed to make it seem like a fun but extremely tame ride until near the end. -

CGA Photo TR 3/24
Airtime&Gravity replied to KGA29's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
How does CGA manage to keep their classic rides(with the exception of The Edge)? CGA seems to have a lot of rides not around much anymore such as the chair lift and looping starship. While the removal of the Paramount theming will have a large impact on CGA like the other parks, CGA seems like the one that it will have the smallest impact on. However, since I've never been to the park, I have no idea on how much of an impact the theming was, but the other Paramount parks seem like they will be hurt more by the changes. Nice photos, and Firefall looks like it will be a good addition, and hopefully CGA will get it to work unlike SFGAM with King Chaos. -
