  1. Who I Am Hates Who I've Been - Relient K
  2. I think a reason Six Flags is not adding these changes to Mind Eraser is that the general public will probably think that it is the same horrible ride with fog and fire effects. Six Flags would have a hard time trying to explain that the ride has been modified to run smoother if they did any track work or added new trains. Superman: Ride of Steel is a popular ride where the general public will notice/care about the changes made. I'm sure that Six Flags would work on Mind Eraser if they knew it would boost its popularity, but they probably figured that it wasn't worth it. Who knows, maybe they'll buy new trains for Mind Eraser as next year, and hope people give it a chance. Now, I've never been to Six Flags New England, so I don't know how well Mind Eraser Runs(sounds bad), or the crowds it gets. I'm just going by experiences at other parks.
  3. As great as it is for a park to become more family friendly by adding a kids area, I think it is a little late for the Wiggles. At Great America, I often hear families asking"do kids still watch the wiggles?" Granted, the area is popular with the kids, but that is because of the rides, not the theme. I just hope it is spread out more than Great America's, because it is pretty crowded back in Wiggles World/County Fair.
  4. Yeah, investors own them, and Six Flags manages them.
  5. Discovery Kingdom/Magic Mountain and Fiesta Texas/Over Texas serve completely different metro areas. There are a lot of people in those metro areas, and it isn't exactly like Discovery Kingdom/Magic Mountain and Fiesta Texas/Over Texas are within easy driving distance to the other park in the state. They serve completely different markets, and it would be as if Six Flags closed Great Escape because of New England and Great Adventure. Parks that could close: Timber Falls - I hope not, but they have said that Mt. Olympus is really hurting them Riverview - how many rides have been removed in recent years? Kiddieland - owners in a dispute, and might close next year Kentucky Kingdom - not closed, but sold Six Flags America - reasons listed in previous posts Geauga Lake's Wildwater Kingdom - CF killed the ride side, and the slides could easily be relocated to Soak City. Fun Spot - hate to see small family owned parks go, but I don't see it open for much longer
  6. While it is great that they are upgrading this ride, there are probably other rides that deserve work as well. Mind Eraser could have the rails sanded down(ie Kumali), and it would be kind of cool for a SLC to have fog, fire, and light effects. Boomerang could also receive new trains, and it sounds like Cyclone could use some work. With that being said, it sounds like a nice improvement to the ride, and hopefully Six Flags continues this with their other rides.(Bull or Nitro) As for the sound, I have nothing wrong with it being the Superman theme, and hopefully it is synced to the ride unlike Led Zeppelin.
  7. It is great that Six Flags is willing to upgrade new rides, and hopefully they continue to do this with their rides. Sure it isn't a new ride, but it shows that they care about the classic rides, and their commitment to keep them running.
  8. The top hat is my favorite inversion, but I've only been on one coaster with an inverted top hat. The hang time they produce offer a unique ride experience, and it is just thrilling to be upside down so high up The vertical loop on Greezed Lightning is another great inversion. It is so simple, yet so much fun.
  9. Val Kilmer - Bowling for Soup
  10. Mine is a poster of the Disney ride: Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Sea.
  11. ^It won't look so spread out when I'm finished, but it'll look spread out for a while as I'm only working a little bit at a time. I've been working on this park for probably close to three months, so it isn't high on my to-do list. As for the changing scenery, I see what you mean, but I didn't want it to look repetitive. I'll find a way to fix it as my skills improve.
  12. ADMIN EDIT: Locked via request from Airtime. Park is closed. So, after a five year hiatus, I've started playing RCT2 again. Due to drastic changes, the photos have been removed. All you need to know if you are new to this thread is that what I had at first was pretty bad, but it is a lot better now. Park History: In the early 1950s, a kiddieland opened in Lake Delton, Wisconsin. The park was moderately successful, but it never became as popular as the owners hoped it would. In the 1970s, the owners transformed the small park into a larger regional park. Even with this growth, the park remained family friendly, but it still struggled to make a name for itself in the Wisconsin Dells area. This would all change in the 1980s. The new owners worked at creating a resort, and the massive Legacy at the Crossroads resort was built. The new owners also added new attractions to the amusement park such as the Orient Express coaster and the Pirate Cove water park. The park was finally starting to make a name for itself, but the Legacy project pushed the owners on the verge of bankruptcy. Once again, the project was purchased by a group of foreign investors. The new owners continued to expand the park, and the park had finally become the large regional park that the original owners had hoped for when they originally opened the park. In 2006, the park was sold to Parques Reuindos, and the park continues to grow.
  13. Anyone else notice that the top set of wheels don't come close to touching the track? Vekoma's old designs would at least be close to touching the track, and yet their rides would be painful. I can't even imagine how rough this ride would be if it was ever built.
  14. Wow! A very intelligent response. First of all, you have no idea who's voting so don't make assumptions. Secondly, it seems plenty of TPR posters also vote. Those who receive ballots are people considered to be well-traveled. Based on the percentages given in another reply, I'd say that's very true. Robb and Elisa, just curious, do you guys get ballots? I'd say they're well traveled and probably deserve a shot (whether they care to or not is another story). If you read my other posts in the thread where I mentioned why I thought those that one did, you'd understand that that post was meant to be a joke. I know that a gravy buffet has nothing to do with who wins an award. Anyways, I thought that many of those who voted in the Golden Tickets were members of ACE, which is why I tried to make a joke at them. I'm sorry if I offended anyone, and I didn't mean to be an @$$.
  15. Since I believe ACE is a major group that votes, I'm guessing what park offers them the biggest gravy buffet. lol
  16. Here are last year's results for those who are interested.
  17. Some of those that won do deserve the award as that park(Holiday World for example) really is the best in the category. However, the major ones such as best park, best water park, best coaster etc. are really biased. Now, S:RoS and Voyage truly belong at #1, but the rest of the high rankings are just really messed up. Coasters like Phoenix and El Toro belong where they are(could be higher), but rides like Millennium Force, Beast, TTD, and Magnum are just there because they are in Ohio, at powerhouse parks, and because they iconic coasters for their size/importance.
  18. http://www.amusementtoday.com/8002gta090308.html Same results as usual...
  19. ^It's possible, but I think the fire would have to be extremely hot and intense for it to be. Looking at the pictures, it is likely that it was, so the sculpture was probably destroyed.
