  1. Great Reprot! I just have one question. You said you got lost in Psychoscareapy, but how can you get lost when theres a whole line of people in front of you going the same place?
  2. Shouldn't this thread be in the theme park section?
  3. Does anyone know if it will be opened by the end of october?
  4. What is the average group size while going through these mazes? How long of a time period is it between one gropu and another?
  5. IMO, there is rarely a park that is too big for the public. However, there are parks that are too big for the staff and park managment. Instead of having all of the rides and shops opened, a park would have half of the rides opened and a handful of shops opened. If the park seems to have more oversized lawn ornaments than operating rides, then the park may be too big for park managment.
  6. ^I'm not going to choose where I'm going to live ased on how close the nearest theme park is from my house. Besides, I want to do more than go to theme parks all the time.
  7. ^Yeah, that could be it. I don't want to tell my date that I'm obsessed with roller coasters, she'll think I'm crazy or nerdy. I don't know, maybe its because I've grown out of making everyone know that I'm obsessed with coasters. I can't imgine myself 15 years from now going on coaster chat rooms instead of talking to my wife and kids. To me looking up news o about coasters is boring because it is the same thing. There has been no new concept out in a long time. I'm especially getting tired of Intamin. If I hear about another rocket coaster I'm going to scream. I guess thats one of the reasons why I'm not that intrested in coasters anymore.

  9. I'm going through that phase right now. When I was 6 to about 11 or 12, I was obsessed with roller coasters. I would look up information and memorize facts about coasters. If someone was having a converstion about voasters, I would jump right in. I wanted everyone to know that I was obsessed with roller coasters. But then around 7th grade, I went to middle school. I stopped looking up information and facts about coasters. I did not tell anyone about my intrest in coasters. I still like getting on coasters, but I just don't care what is going on. To me its like nothing new has appeared on the theme park scene in a while in the US. Sure you have different coasters being built, but its the same idea recycled into something similar as the last one. When Tatsu was announced, I was not excited and in fact bored and could care less because it was a B&M flying coaster that 4 other coasters like it. However, I was excited about Goliath because it was the first hypercoaster in my home park, but that was it. I want something new that is the first of its kind that is a world record breaker, other than that, I could care less about whats new.
  10. Yeah, those shows are great. I've been to La Nouba, O, and some travelling one that came here but I can't remember the name. My favorite show is O though.
  11. I was browsing Wikipedia when I came across Six Flags Atlantis. It was a waterpark in Hollywood, Florida that was around in 1989. The park was damaged in 1992 and ultimately demolished in 1994. Has anyone ever been to this park? If so, what was it like?
  12. Seriously.... this thing is bound to have a major disaster sometime in it's lifespan. It's just structurally weird... and if you front-loaded the thing with a bunch of 300 pounders from Kansas I can't imagine the thing holding the weight. I've been on hundreds of rides all over the world, and this one *REALLY* freaked me out. Not because it's scary, and certainly not because of a fear of heights (I've bungee jumped for god's sake) but because the ride looks and feels simply *dangerous*, and totally waiting for something to go wrong. It's not really enjoyable, it's more a form of torture. You should be scared because a ride is good at thrilling you, not because it's going to break! I don't know about this, but I'm prettys sure they balance out the weight of the car by placing people in different rows. I'm pretty sure that the ride attendants make sure that the wright is 600 pounds in the first row. The ride itself is pretty fun. To me I was scared, but I would do the ride again. Insanity was not as intense and a lot more enjoyable and fun.
  13. Since my dad works for Coca-Cola, we got to go to Coca-Cola Night. Basically all of the Coke employees are able to go to SFOG, for the night. The park is shut down to the rest of the public, and the event lasted from 6PM-12AM. When we first arrived to the park, we headed straight for Goliath. Goliath was a walk-on, so we did Batman and Mindbender, also walk-ons. The only bad part of the night was two of the rides experienced technical difficulties, Superman and Batman. The longest wait of the night was Deja Vu, a 40 minute wait. There were fireworks at 10, and overall it was a fun night.
  14. Yeah all of this is just a publicity stunt. But in fact, they will probably make their ratings even worse because of the divided teams. To me, this idea will make stereotypes amongst different races more stronger. I don't really think anyone is going to watch it anyways.
  15. Overall it was just ok to me. I think it was better when they had it in Miami. The performances were good, but they weren't the mindblowing performances they usually have. Jack Black was ok, but he gets an A for effort. To me it was not as exciting as it has been in the past.
  16. ^Do you think it will be opened by October. I hope so because that's when I'm going.
  17. Nowadays, colleges look at much more than your GPA. They look at what activites you're participating in, and community service. It also depends on your SAT score. If you score well on the SAT, then your chances of getting into a better college are much greater than if you did not score well on the SAT. As for your GPA, I assume that if you have at least a 3.0 average than some colleges may let you in. But now most colleges want you to be active in the school and community and look at what extra curricular activites you are participating, instead of just looking at GPA of SAT scores.
  18. ^lol Yeah it was not much in Florida, but like Katrina, its not as bad as predicted for Florida, but it crosses over Florida and goes off into the Gulf, picking up wind speeds while out in the Gulf
  19. I don't really have just one clique I hang out with. I hang out with mybe 4-5 cliques a day. These include preps, goths, nerds, normal no category people, etc. If there was a clique for me I guess I would be one of the normal no categories. I'm not preppy by no means, but I'm not certainly not emo either. I just like to hang out with a lot of people.
  20. The preppy rend has always been at my school, since rich bratty preppies mostly go to my school. Everyone had a bat/bar mitzvah in 7th grade, and people who you would never think are Jewish throw a big expensive Bat mitzvah in Buckhead. Since we have to wear uniforms, the Birkentocks were a trend in 7th grade. I 8th and now they are these new eskimo looking shoes called Wallabees. I don't like them because they can get very dirty and look sloppy. When we have out of uniform days, everything is to the extreme. Some people come in with the very very very very preppy clothes on. Others wear white tees or black tees. Others wear emo clothes such as tight jeans and shirts.
  21. Good Queues: Dueling Dragons, Spiderman, Tower of Terror, Batman, X, Goliath (SFMM) Ok Queues: Riddler's Revenge, Incredibla Hulk (inside), Dudley Do Right, Cat in the Hat, Splash Mountain. Rock'N'Roller Coaster (inside) Typical boring ones: Silver Bullet, Goliath (SFOG), Ninja (SFOG & SMMM), most of Cedar Point's lines Weird ones: Scream (Its just a straight path to the stairs, its kind of strange how they put the lockers inside the queue instead of outside, to prevent people from line jumping while exiting)
  22. Some people are telling you to take MARTA. Don't listen to them. First off, you would have to switch rail lines 5 stations up, and then take the east/west line to the farthest west point. This is useless becasue the station does not even go outside Interstate 285 (the highway that unofficially marks Atlanta) You woud then have to wait for a bus to pick you up, and then you would stop at a million bus stops until you arrive at Six Flags. You would have lost so much time using MARTA that you would have maybe a couple of hours until you have to leave and do the whole process over again. Also, the trains itself are not the most reliable. I have friends just about every other day say how the trains will just stop in the middle of the track for about 5-15 mins. Six Flags isn't as close as you think it is to the airport. You have the option of taking the often congested 285 (which you'll end up driving more if you take this), or you can take one of the most traffic congested segment of highway in America (75/85) onto Interstate 20. Because of our poor highway system, we have traffic everyday now. If you are deciding to go with a car or MARTA, I recommend a car, even with the poor highways and bad traffic, you will still get at the park much faster than you would if you took MARTA. As for the airport, securtiy, unlike most places, is actually pretty good. With the large number of metal detectors, there really is not a long wait. What will take you longer to do,however is to get to your gate. There is a lot of walking involved in the ATL airport, even if you take the train, depending on where your gate is on the concourse. To sum things up, take a rental car, you are more able to move at your own pace than you are with MARTA. As for Six Flags, it can be very crazy, but you'll be able to get most of the major rides done with a Gold Q-Bot.
  23. lol, It's one of my guilty pleasures. I know Flavor of Love is so trashy, but it is so funny to watch at the same time.
  24. What?? Carps eat crap???
  25. Does anyone on here watch America's Got Talent? I f so, what is your favorite act (if it made it to the finals or not).
