LOOKS SO GOOD. thanks for sharing and bring it on! can't wait to get on this bad boy. Between Storm Chaser and Lightning Run, it looks like KK has incredibly stepped up their game. Glad to see the park revived and offering stiff competition to the local market. Wish we could get Nashville back in the game.

^ SHHHHHHHHHHHH please stop telling everyone how awesome the park is. It's TOTALLY TERRIBLE.
-
I've been at the park just last week and seen the launch hill over the mountain - It's NOTHING to joke about
-
I just found out, that several iconic structures in the world, lit up in purple,
in honor of Prince. I especially liked this one of the Eiffel Tower...
WAIT...I thought the Eiffel Tower split in half and a Jules Verne style rocket to Tomorrowland took off from it.

Sorry I was busy today.
By the looks of your profile pic, it looks like you've been listening to Autolux instead. Hmmm

Gold Rush Junction with my dad before it was demolished by Dollywood.

Guntown Mountain appears to be up for auction April 20th:
CAVE CITY, Ky. (WBKO) - Boarded windows, rust, and spray paint are a sign of shame for some, but for others it's opportunity."It's just an old western theme park that looks like it's about to lay in ruin. I'd really love a chance to restore it and bring it back to life."
Jason Galaz said he watched the downfall of Funtown Mountain under previous owner Will Russell from his computer in Nashville. All it did for him, was peak his interest into what the property could really be.
"We're going to assess the damage the previous owner did to see if it's something we can work with."
Galaz was one of a few potential investors from Nashville and Louisville looking at the I-65 attraction Wednesday afternoon.
Mayor Dwayne Hatcher said ever since the April 20 auction of the facility was announced his phone has been busy.
"We have had a lot of interest. A lot of folks have been making appointments to come by and look at it."
Galaz is the owner of Muddy Roots Records in East Nashville. His vision includes music festivals bringing people to cave country from across the world.
"If we can take possession we'll start planning special events of all sorts. We have a history of doing music events, old country music, bluegrass, blues. I'd like to infuse that with the old western theme."
The new interest means another chance, for a town that wants to see one of it's biggest attractions return to former glory.
Right now the park has four serious potential investors with many more looking deeper into the opportunity. The park foreclosed earlier this year under then owner, Will Russell.

Does anyone know the dates of the Spring hot rod show? I'm planning to be in the area early April and hoping to avoid it if possible.
April 14-16. You can see the calendar of the biggest events in Pigeon Forge at http://www.pigeonforgetnguide.com/events/pigeon-forge-events-calendar/ . Most area spring breaks are April 1-10, so there will be slightly heavier crowds then as well.
Thank you! Glad we'll be avoiding the hot rod crowd.

My jaw still drops at SF pulling out of the 4th biggest market in the US. I was at AW on closing night. Really great memories of this park on my couple of visits!

I still wanna see Holiday World transform Frightful Falls into a haunted house dark ride/log flume combo, that would be awesome. Add a multi layer indoor section after the tunnel with another lift and a drop and some animatronics and fun dark ride elements, it would be great!
I love this idea! Haunted sawmill anyone? I've always thought the Halloween section needed a haunted house and this would fit quite nicely.

Any news on what they are doing with the Girraffica site?

I've never really understood the saying death comes in 3's...this has obviously not been the case here lately. Where does this saying come from? Oh and dear Angel of Death, you can take a break now.

Since it's in Alabama will it be themed to the KKK, the Bible, or the Inbred Community? Just wondering
Man that's a bummer you think of Alabama this way. Sadness.
^ You too?

I've tried to ride the Galaxy on several past visits to keep finding it sbno. I wanted to see this place go...too bad. Looks like high dollar space so no surprise.
