Went to the Download Festival... Awesome weekend! I saw Megadeth, Dragonforce, Wolfmother, My Chemical Romance, Turisas, Hellyeah, 30 Seconds To Mars, Bowling For Soup, Machine Head, Marilyn Manson, Linkin Park, Papa Roach, Lamb of God, Killswitch Engage, Evanescence and Iron Maiden... That was the best £155 ever spent!

Waiting in line...
IceDragon replied to swampfox's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
In my opinion, the ride feels much more satisfying if I have to wait... I don't know why... Flat rides, I won't queue if it's for more than an hour. When we do get on the rides, we usually get everyone chanting 'here we go, here we go here we go!'. We got the whole of Ramesis Revenge singing it throughout the entire ride, even through the fountains! That was an incredible day. Heavy rain, repeat rides, full-blast fountains, the works! We all got hypothermia I believe... -
I used to be able to do them easily, but it seems I've forgotten how to do it...

Waiting in line...

Even if the parks clear, I tend to slowly walk through the queue trying to soak up atmosphere before the ride... Sometimes I let people skip me if I'm feeling nice 0.o -
Wendy’s manager shot over limit on chili sauce
IceDragon replied to BarryH's topic in Random, Random, Random
Did he get his extra chili though? -
Heh, agreed. I've picked kids up and placed them behind me when they've done it right in front of me. Making a fairly big scene about it is in a way a good idea. It attracts attention to the criminal, thus warning people to be wary and it's embarrassing for them too. I laugh at some of the things people have done after a queue jumper's been caught.

Kudos to you for reporting them. I would've done the same in my case, but they were escorted away anyway. Mine was fairly freaky because it happened in front of me and at Thorpe Park. It included 20-or-so chavs (chavs are people who think they're amazing and should be treated with respect, but if you want to fight them, they'll insult you and run), and a few older people. Some of the group had queued up for X:WTF while the others finished something else. The queuing group were fairly near the front when the others joined, and instead of being quiet, they were whooping, swearing and generally making themselves heard which isn't uncommon. They don't ask if they could get with their friends, they just ducked under a barrier and barged people out of the way. The people behind them reported them to a ride-op on the inside of the building as they were about to board, consequently stopping the ride. They started being really abrasive, swearing, insults, the lot. Even the females were swearing as much as they could. The ride-op then dispatched the train empty as this had gone on for about 2 minutes. The ride-op told them to leave and called security. One of them threatened to kill the ride-op and the group behind them and bought out what looked like a blade, fortunately it was a fake retractable prank knife. The offender turned around and punched one of the group on the nose, then turned back to the op and tried attacking him. Me and loads of other people saw this and restrained him. We threw him to the ground and kneeled on his arms, legs and torso while security came. He was escorted from the park, everyone cheered and we all got a free go on X:WTF. Kudos to anyone who stops queue jumpers. It's not right and they wouldn't have liked it if it were them in that situation.

Less than a week to the Download Festival... Holy Hell! On 9th September, me and a few friends are going to see The Misfits with supporting bands The Briefs and Spit Like This. I saw Spit Like This on friday at a local venue, but on a mainstage it should be awesome

Secret Scary Coaster
IceDragon replied to jason10's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Mine has to be Detonator at Thorpe Park. After doing that, it was fairly hard for me to do a 200ft one in Spain because I thought it would be like Detonator. I do prefer the 200ft+ models to Detonator... I don't know why. I hated Rush at first too, I didn't like the idea of swinging fast with a rather puny-looking lap bar, but I loved it -
I've worked since I was 12... I'm sure his dad was actually controlling the ride, just telling him what to do. I've had a few kids come and spin my car for me... Without them, the ride would have sucked ass. I've found, at a fairly decent theme park, the cover for a light that had fallen off one of the moving arms mid-ride. I got £10 for finding it!

Favorite ride queue lines
IceDragon replied to tsmcdon's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Best: Colossus (Goes right away from the ride, really nasty prank to play on people if you can't see the queue), Nemesis, Nemesis Inferno Worst: Colossus (too long), Vampire (Not very organized when you enter the station. I've been shoved right to the front of the front row before) -
Phrases or Things that make you Cringe!
IceDragon replied to CoastersNSich's topic in Random, Random, Random
Well, they have an excuse. My road has no paths either side, so you have to walk in the road. The speed limit is 30mph, but I've clocked someone going 70mph... I've had to jump onto peoples driveways because of this. 'How many cuts and bruises can you get walking down this road' is my favourite game to play. I'm getting permission from the council to install either sleeping policemen, or something that throws up spikes if a cars going too fast... The latter won't be done, but it gave the council a laugh... -

Congrats on your honeymoon! If you think food is good in London, next time you're over, take a trip to Camden Market. It's full of goths, emos and scene kids, but the food court is simply the best ever! -

Bull. Last year (while everyone was in school) the queue still hit 3 Hours and actually overflowed onto the plaza. It easily reaches 3 hours. -

Go straight for Nemesis. It'll get a 3 hour queue by 11am. Go to Air next. Next will be Rita and Corkscrew, don't do corkscrew unless you really want to scare yourself. Head for the X Sector and do Oblivion. The queue never reached more than 10mins for this, so it should be clear. Head back to the entrance to do Spinball. Brief but simple. -
Heh, not wanting to boast or anything, but I've trained my voice to go for 30 seconds... It's so painful, but It's going to sound awesome live
-
The drops fun, usually get a small pop of airtime, but if you wanted to cool off quickly, go stand on the bridge.
