  1. The lockers by the gift shop were getting some new construction there, is that going to have something to do with your new queuebots? I hadn't seen any info about what it's going to be.

I also saw they were still making little progress on T:TC - concrete still not poured.

The park was pretty dead sunday. Easy lines, the valley was really clear too, the wind blew the smoke into LA instead of out here.

  2. Wow, so many memories. I was around later though. I remember the Wacky Soap Box Racers and being scared of them with the explosive fireworks factory. I remember the shopping cart sound of the windjammer. I was there with a ymca group one time when they had their POG tournament, and everyone else punched out their sheet of pogs but me, I kept mine in the cardboard. Loved kingdom of the dinosaurs. "You've gone BACK in time one MILLION years! How will I EVER get you BACK?"

I miss old knotts. Last time I was their It felt claustrophobic with so many coasters overhead. I was kinda lost trying to get around. At least the candy store was still pretty cool. I guess we all have to grow up.

  3. Fine, I guess you're right.

In that case, thank you SF for putting in a new coaster, a new wooden coaster and doing it this year so we can ride it like our 401k's. Maybe it will bring the numbers up in the park and we can have Kingda Ka II: Kingda Ka-er or whatever thrill is appropriate.

Wait. I can't even tell if i'm being sarcastic anymore or wrapped all the way back to genuine.

Either way, (little kid comes out) yay! new roller coaster!

    (must be feeling better today)

(DAMN! just realized the perfect theme: 401K the RIDE!)

    oh god i'm poor

  4. Saying quit complaining to an internet forum like beating a dog for not doing your calculus homework. Might make you feel better, but it's not really fair to expect anything.

I still think it's weird to have the 'choo choo' millienium flyer train design have "TERMINATOR" across the front. Thomas the tank engine would have been better branding for those cars.

And we've begged before: The more retheming spillikin/bay gets the better. Take a jackhammer to all the buildings coaster girls through xtreme zone and leave it mid-construction. Instant apocalypse.

  5. That turned r rated quickly.

Twickets are $10. Forms are being poured in horseshoe shapes back by deja vu. Don't see any harbor construction. The fright fest is great fun when heckles and twitch cut a guy in half. Pretty standard October at magic.

Also, always suggest Gold Rusher for coaster scaredy cats. It's from the 70's, it goes slow, no big drops and no upside down.

Thus ends a laundry list of facts and opinions.

  6. I have no info on the secret project. Only the execs have the knowledge and my inside peoples have no dirt. WYSIWYG.

But, yes the B&M Psyclone trains are permanently left on the Colossus transfer tracks in body bags (tarps) and they are for colossus backwards because of the headrests.

Frightfest will have a $5 wristband for the mazes themselves. The walkthrough areas and the shows still seem to be free. That's what I was told by inside man #1. They'll sell wristbands at the giftshops (guest necessity, flags, attitudes).

they always have hand stamps for one readmission. Admission is like normal, I guess they're just trying to recoup some more $ from season pass holders.

I'm really looking forward to a log jammer scareshow again, they did it before.

Also they're land clearing with GOATS, but the goats are sponsored by somebody's cycle shop I think. It's weird and on the other side of the employee road.

  7. I got taken to the x2 employee day and it was freaking awesome! I can't thank my friend enough. The music kick a$$ and it really was something to remember, this isn't advertised correctly and the word of mouth will be amazing, I just hope they keep up the production quality because it was leads and supervisors operating the ride so we'll see if the rank and file can keep up with that, but still, I take back every doubting thing I said this year. Can't wait for the next coaster if they keep up this level of show quality.

  8. It's making fun of the musical and movie "The music man" where harold hill sells the town on how pool is evil so keep them occupied and buy his instruments and music lessons of which he doesn't know how to do anwyay. Classic scam. He also opens up the frigid librarian. Good times.

"Ya got trouble, folks, right here in River City

with a capital 'T' and that rhymes with 'P' and that stands for 'pool'"

  9. Those fountains are built by a company in burbank called WET design. And you don't want to know how much they charge. It's unlikely unless the king of persia buys SFMM you'll see any of those.

But seriously, It's frustrating to follow magic mountain because they promise all these great things and then either say 'just trust us, wait for a while, the 5 year plan will be great" or they say they'll be cool tunnels on X2 and they say, yeah, whoops. We hate spending money, nevermind.

Maybe i'll get excited again when track shows up for the 2k9 coaster but i'll scream if it's going to be another six flags over asphalt.

I hate that rollercoaster ride following their ups and downs. Whatever, i'm going into hibernation for the summer. You all enjoy the park for me.

  10. Trains were dispatching without the load/unload delay, that's a testing feature i'm sure. The lift was pretty damned fast but it's hard to compare to riding it and seeing it from a distance, but the lift didn't slow down at the top so I'm assuming it's the famous testing mode to keep it from valleying accidentally. Since it cleared the lift without the slowdown at the top it hit the course elements pretty hard. The two trains appeared to take the course differently so weight sure makes a noticeable difference. Also they had single point lights on the lift instead of the old yellow tubes so it was pretty. Like ninja lift lights instead of goliath lift lights. Couldn't see the station, but a friend told me of some red glow the other night.

On a skeptical note, i'm fairly certain at this point we're just going to settle for reopening with new trains which is no mean feat (KUDOS TO THE MECHANICS! you guys rock). But the marketing department will have to really answer for it's bluster and prove all these claims of tunnels, audio (please not like rockin scream, it's not noticeable on the ride), and fire. Like I said, skeptical, but not cynical. I'll be patient. Three weeks.
