Of course, "this wasn't supposed to happen" comment applies to the ride being open by now Damn RAIN!Gravity Group designers Mike and Corey shreik frantically, "... this wasn't supposed to happen!"Poor fellas', my heart goes out to the them.
-
I drove by today not that bad traffic, but hard to find parking. The train is still in the front of the ride, very few people out working on it. I saw maybe 4 guys working on the hill where it vallied and 2 guys working on the gate near the drop.
-
Guys it appears this thing has seatbelts....Not my pics taken by "nholt"
-
I've never been to a theme park outside of texas but those are the best trains i've ever seen!
-
What kind of work?
-
I honestly don't know, I saw maybe 3 men walking the track inspecting it i assume. When i saw the train there was a man with a drill underneath the ttrain and track, I don't know what he was doing. Thanks for the PIC & update! Does this mean they are taking it apart to unvalley it? -
I took a quick trip, My damn car kept saying "Low coolant" so i had to run!If you see straight ahead you can see the train, I forgot my 200mm lens They were working underneath the train, and they kept drilling up on the hill that it valleied on. The train is Right across from Salt Grass. I saw a guy and a child "going to ride" it. They realized it wasn't open yet...
-
Did it valley in the hill behind it in pic 3? I would naturally assume so. It looks too tall/banked.

Anything new lorddoonga or Coasterphotos?!
-
I'm getting tired of waiting! I'm calling my job and telling them i need a week off, I'll climb the wooden structure and help!
-
As of 2pm they were still working on the drop/turn around from the lift...
-
Wow i was out there around 11 am and they were still working on the drop. Can't wait!
-
As jason pointed out the 2nd train is gone and i assume on the track, the water test dummies are gone off the pallet. So any day... They was maybe 15 people working on stuff. Looks like the first drop is nearly completed.
-
Jason, If i ever meet you i owe you a Hurricane swirl Good job!
-
how is it a straight shot? 45 is 7/8 miles from the boardwalk. I drove from Nasa Road one and then turned on some FM road.(Not questioning, but if you know a better way to get there it would help me too.)

Look at the foiliage at SFOT simply amazing! SFFT is too hot...There are most likely quite a few nice looking parks. Thing is, lots of us look at the coasters and rides we are headed to and don't see the park itself.SFOG is another real nice one.
Will have some pics from there before the end of the season.
-
Yep, It's the extra wide plain sidewalks. Anyone see the "roaming gang" pic in the SFFT photos?Awesome trip report, you're a great photographer. Six Flags Fiesta Texas looks like the nicest park in the chain to me. -
Very well said and possibly quite true. I've read the thread and got fed up with "BG charges .50 cents..." Blah blah...This isn't 50 cents were talking about...I noticed at SFOT when we road the "blue" train the blue door would be open. While waiting in the line i'd see the red side open when the red train was coming in.After reading through this thread...I've noticed a lot of people are upset by the new rule. But seriously, it wont last. Think about it, Goliath is a HUGE ride at the park, by that I mean high traffic. This ride sees so many people a day, which is the reason why they're implementing this "Locker Law"...
But Six Flags didn't really think about this. (At least I don't think so)Well...with this 2 dollar locker law thing, you now get the locker for a few hours. Well, in turn, People will just say after their ride, "Well, forget getting our stuff, lets just leave it in there since were paying for it, and go ride more rides." This will lead to many full lockers, leaving none available for other guests...
Honestly, how many lockers are next to Goliath? Eventually the lockers will become all full, thus leaving guests with NO place to put their stuff. This will in turn, force them to not ride. Guests will complain, the ride ops will begin to complain about how guests are bringing stuff onto the ride and so on. This wont last in my mind.
The only thing that is outrageous about the Locker Law, is the price. It may seem like a scam, and thats exactly what it is! But hey, lets hope the money they get from the lockers, will go into putting bins at the station!
Just my thoughts...

But the ride op said that had put a new rule in place on Saturday that you had to take everything with you- so he gave the guy his basketball and made him ride with it.
That is about the most stupid thing I have ever heard of in my life.
Good, Now they won't win them and bounce them around the park, On walls, Infront of you, in the queue...

I remember watching a swimming video where Russian athletes swam in brown water...
-
There has been a bundle of wood up there almost since the turn was completed. I wonder what the problem is? Also, Is the old green fence near saltgrass(at the back) gone?
-
Does the top "turn" have any track yet? It looks like they put it up and never laid wood track or steel track.
-
You need TOO LOOK AT THE FIRST DROP UP CLOSE! It's amazing!^At Timber Falls, They'll run the train with just one person on it, and they'll give free rides too. Hopefully this park does the same as it seems too small to have a minimum riders policy. This coaster is really starting to look good, and hopefully they Kemah gets it open soon. When I was checking the most recent update, the coaster appeared to have some of the best drops and turns on a wooden coaster. I think this could be Gravity Groups best coaster, and while it is a big ride, it isn't massive like Hades or Voyage.
-
I've been out at 10 am and 11 am it's very light and most rides are open.
