Have fun with those, they suck. The one at Dorney is an embarrassment to flyers everywhere. -

This park has been "out of room" since the 90's according to enthusiasts. Since then they've built the tallest coaster in the world, the world's tallest impulse coaster, the tallest coaster in the world again, a giant Frisbee, a huge S&S swing ride, a huge flume ride, one of the best coasters in the world with Maverick, the world's tallest, fastest and longest wing coaster, a giant Dinosaur park, 2 new flats on the Gemeni midway, a 300 foot tall swing ride, a huge Slingshot and the world's tallest dive coaster while basically removing nothing of value except maybe White Water Landing which was replaced with another water ride that happened to be a dud but that has nothing to do with this conversation. -
Kingda Ka is the only ride that will close for rain but in light rain they'll still run it. As far as cold temperatures they absolutely, positively couldn't even begin to give a sh*t. It got down to 29 that night... they closed a grand total of zero rides. All the ride ops had said that minimum temperature limits for Holiday in the Park weren't even a thing and were never once discussed. Six Flags Great Adventure has the greatest weather policy of any park in existence. At one point we were sitting in a train on Nitro, turned around, the ride ops weren't even checking it because they were watching the other train almost valley in the woods looking horrified and then when it somehow limped back to the station they threw up the all clear and sent us out. Also the year before we rode Nitro in the sleet during Fright Fest. All coasters besides Ka were open. Ka opened as soon as the sleet stopped.

All I can think of is that this would totally defeat the purpose of Gakekeeper. Is that really the only reason you think is a dumb idea? I can think of about 100 more reasons to go along with it. Including but not limited to the fact that they have plenty of room already and they don't have an unlimited budget to blow on enthusiast pipe dreams. -

No. It's only occasionally an issue on the Saturday of Columbus Day weekend if the weather is nice. -

This looks nice and all and I understand it from a financial standpoint but is anyone else personally wishing they spent the money they're spending on this to restore the Log Flume? (I'm prepared for the answer to be no... lol) Also I don't want to hear about the maintenance costs of Log Flumes, I understand but I'm speaking from a personal standpoint... not a business one. -
This is exactly what I just said. Also Mind Eraser, Roar and Gotham City's appearance are all horrendous. Come on now... let me know one themed or unthemed area in any park in America uglier than Gotham City at SFA. Besides everything at Lakemont Park and Conneaut Lake I'm struggling, and those parks don't have nearly the budget that Six Flags has. I'm pretty sure both parks have a combined maintenance budget of eight dollars.

What Was The Last Coaster You Rode?
coasterbill replied to SharkTums's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
No they didn't. MM named it F-U-L-L-T-H-R-OT-T-L-E and said that it was a YOLO kind of coaster as part of the promotion. They don't call it the YOLOcoaster. They call it a YOLOcoaster. There are many YOLOcoaster's and FT is not one of them. If I only had one coaster to ever ride before I died I wouldn't even be in California. Yes, THERE are many YOLOcoaster's that are awesome but only one that is actually named YOLOcoaster! Just so you know, I am totally typing out the name that Six Flags gave it.....YOLOcoaster! There is no coaster named YOLOcoaster. The YOLOcoaster thing is not ment to offend anyone. If someone's that easily offended then I'm genuinely glad that they're offended. I deeply apologize for having fun with a hobby that's completely 100% based on visiting parks who's sole purpose is to cater to people trying to have fun. Sadly you'll need to remove the stick from your ass before riding Full Throttle. It's considered a loose article and you'll need to put it in a locker. This policy should rings a bell... it's the same policy as they have on Wicy at Six Flags New England and on I'm too stupid to spell the word Apocalypse at Magic Mountain. -
Locals will tell you that the park is improving and it is, but they're judging it against it's own horrible reputation. If you're judging it against basically any other major park in existence it's still terrible. Go to King's Dominion and/or Busch Gardens and hit it for a few hours on the way back. If you make a special trip you'll be pretty pissed.

Those two things still have literally nothing to do with eachother. Tons of parks have more than one sit down looper, and with a floorless gimmick they'd be very different rides. Even without one they'd be very different rides. And even if they weren't Cedar Fair has never cared about that sort of thing before.

Ride Intimidator before Fury. Riding Fury before Intimidator will ruin Intimidator for you. Since the ride's are so similar Fury really just took a giant crap on Intimidator. If you might not get Fastlane you should actually start with Nighthawk but with Fastlane it doesn't really matter. Nighthawk has atrocious capacity and the line doesn't move. Hit Ricochet early too, I don't believe it's on Fastlane and the line crawls. And no, don't get the Fastlane ahead of time. You'll probably want it but it's so easy to grab at any retail shop you might as well wait just in-case very hot or a questionable weather forecast keeps people away. Have fun! Fury deserves all of the hype it gets. Do you think that Plants Vs. Zombies will be a short lived attraction at CW, or do you think it will be around for a while? Since it's based on a trendy new video game it really depends on the longevity of the game. Personally I doubt it lasts very long. -

Favorite Log Flume
coasterbill replied to apollo210's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I never claimed our opinions mattered. Actually I flat out said that they DON'T matter. None of this matters but... Where? What "classification guide", where? Intamin doesn't even call it a flume in their own website. They market a flume... it's the ride with single file seating. You know the log flume. They call Shoot the Rapids and Pilgrim's Plunge "Hyper Splashes" I guess because "hyper splash" has a better ring to it than "unreliable boat ride that doesn't float". Anyway by this classification my favorite Log Flume is Top Thrill Dragster. Much like with Shoot the Rapids the ride vehicles are 2 across and they can't float for sh*t and like Shoot the Rapids it operates better if you don't load the back row and it often rolls down the largest hill backwards when it's just about made it to the top. ... somebody's actually going to take this post seriously. I can't wait. -
Favorite Log Flume

^^ I disagree but it also doesn't really matter. You can call it a Log Flume if you'd like but I don't agree because in that case Pilgrim's Plunge and Shoot the Rapids would have been Log Flumes which I would also entirely disagree with.
