Yes. Lap bars like the ones on Millennium Force and Top Thrill Dragster are infinitely better, but these aren't so bad that they ruin the ride either.

Are the restraints any different? The Bizarro ones weren't that bad but they were a bit bulky.

Assuming it's open (doubtful)... you should ride Goliath first and ask for row 1. If you get there early they might let you wait. Every other row is terrible and brutally rough but row 1 kind of rules. You won't need Flash Pass.

... I mean if it were me I'd go to row 1 of Kingda Ka. Toro is undoubtedly better but I like to let it warm up and in the meantime have my face ripped off on Ka. I've never smoked crack but I'd imagine it's a lot like Kingda Ka in row 1.

Can I make a crazy prediction? Given the fact that it's almost always blowing off the bay, I don't think wind will be a serious problem for this coaster. It's almost never facing a headwind at high altitude or at low speeds like Gatekeeper, Raptor and Dragster (the rides most likely to close for wind). Obviously once you get up to wind speeds that close rides like Millennium Force it may be a different story but even then this thing might be pretty resilient. I'm speculating but I'm optimistic.

You're implying that someone besides a coaster enthusiast would be staring at a webcam a month before the park opens. Anyone who would be staring at that webcam would know what a valley is.

Not bad at all. Personally I'd go Sunday. I could easily see them closing tomorrow because I don't think anyone will be there.

That's a shame... I'm not sure why they would do that. Carowinds left the cams on Fury when they were testing.

I'm predicting an early closure too. Remember the awesome weather policy only applies if they're making money. If there's nobody there then they'll close if there's any way they can use weather as an excuse for doing-so. Sunday though should be a great day at the park. That being said tomorrow IS a Saturday so there's an outside chance they'll stay open. I wouldn't bet on it but it's possible.

Move it to Sunday, crowds will be light then too.

No. It hasn't even affected the rides while the freeze watch was going on. Sometimes when it gets below freezing Nitro's brakes freeze up so they bang on them with a huge mallet. It does the trick. ... I'm serious. I know you don't think I'm serious but I'm serious.

I'm with you on that. It starts on June 11th. I'm planning to visit before then too because Superman's operations are already horrendous. Your SFNE experience was typical. I disagree though, I think Great Escape had the worst operations of any park I've ever seen in my life. The only exception is the Comet. Boomerang, Mine Train and Demon all averaged 7 minute dispatches when we were there (on a Fright Fest Saturday) and Alpine Bobsled... god damn.
