  1. Hi, guys! I am a new TPR user, and I really love this community of coaster enthusiasts. As we all know, the Golden Ticket Awards recently took place. These awards are sometimes known for not accurately representing the common view of us coaster enthusiasts. This has to do with the age and coaster count minimums, and in no way am I going against the voters and contributors to the GTAs, but I happen to see them as a little odd because the coasters you want to vote for aren't always available if you are one of the lucky enthusiasts chosen to vote. The poll designed to be the more fair and realistic option was the Mitch Hawker poll, which hasn't taken place since 2013. This poll was definitely the most accurate coaster poll ever designed. Now, I am no Mitch Hawker, but I have designed a coaster poll that is definitely more accurate than counting up the amount of votes coasters got and rank them as so. I am calling it, as the subject says, the 2016 Roller Coaster Daily International Coaster Poll. The poll I have designed gives you more voting opportunities depending on your coaster count. (Roller Coaster Daily comes from my Instagram account of the same when name, and it is the amusement blog I am the author of.) This is because if you have a high coaster count, you are more experienced. This eliminates the age and high coaster count requirement. I use a then complicated second algorithm to rank the coasters. Please note the following before you apply to vote: 1. You must have a coaster count of 25 or higher to be eligible to vote in the poll at all past the Best New Ride section. (If you have ridden 25-49 coasters, you will submit your top five, 50-74 your top fifteen, and 75 or more your top twenty-five. A similar algorithm applies to the other two categories.) 2. You must have a steel count of 20 or higher to be eligible to vote for the steel coaster section of the poll. 3. You must have a wooden count of 20 or higher to be eligible to vote for the wooden coaster section of the poll. 4. You can only submit one voting form. 5. You can only vote if your application was approved. You must vote with the email and name you provided in your application. An forms sent in that do not match an approved email and name will deleted and not counted. 6. The poll consists of three sections: Best New Roller Coaster, Best Steel Roller Coaster in the World, and Best Wooden Roller Coaster in the World. I am only creating and holding this poll to provide an alternative to coaster enthusiasts seeking a more fair and balanced poll. Thank you so much for reading this. I would really appreciate you voting so we can all see if this poll is successful and can continue to be held yearly. Please please please vote! **I'd like to note I am an amateur when it comes to polls, so please be expectant of a few mistakes and errors here and there. You can apply to vote by emailing me at rcdsubmissions@gmail.com with your name, total coaster count, steel count, and wooden count.
  2. You can find maps at the two large carts located directly in front of the main enterance gate. You have to walk right past one to get to either side of the park. These carts are full of maps, show guides, and info on dining passes. Also some of the retail stores and the Palace box office have maps available as well. Yeah, I did not know that. I was too worried about getting on Mr. Freeze before the lines were long. (BTW, I got a walk on front row and marathoned it three times back row. Got five rides total. )
  3. Mine was Top Thrill Dragster. I went May 23 and 24. Got Fast Lane Plus the 23rd, was at Cedar Point open to close. Went at noon the 24th, left at four (horrific lines, no Fast Lane). I stayed at Breakers, so my family went to the outdoor pool area. At 7:50 that night (park closed at 8:00), I saw TTD running with full trains. (You can see a little more than the top hat from the pool). I got in at 8:00 through the unguarded beach entrance near WindSeeker, and, my luck, the line was closed, but, people were running laps through the Fast Lane entrance. I eventually ended up backseat after discovering CP was using the Fast Lane line in the regular lines' place. I ended up backseat, got off, and ran back in line to only be warned two more trains would be sent (mind it is almost 8:30). So, I had to forget the likely four train wait for front row, and did back row again. We were strapped in, lap bars down, and then it broke down. **Thanks, Intamin.** We had to get back in our lines, let the train on the launch track roll back into the station, and wait until 9:15 to get on. Well worth it, though.
  4. I went to SFSL May 17, and I was thoroughly impressed with the park appearance and layout. Unlike some parks (talking to you SFGAm), the park layout was simple. Only a few main pathways, some dead ends that made me mad (no maps were handed out, and I didn't know where to get one), and some nice plazas. The only reason I went to SFSL (I'm lying, I would have went no matter what), was for Mr. Freeze. A really great ride, but the rest were mediocre. Wish Corp. would give SFSL more attention. SFSL should've gotten a good coaster rather than "Revolutionize" Ninja. **Insert "Should've gotten a B&M."** Also, we all were waiting for Boomerang to fail. Screw you, Vekoma.
  5. I agree that Mako seems like a letdown because it is so similar to other Hypers, yet, us enthusiasts know of these Hypers worldwide. Most of B&M's Hypers are almost cookie cutter, so this was something I expected. Tall lift, airtime hill, airtime hill, etc..., hammerhead, more camelbacks, MCBR, mini camelbacks, some turns, and then the brake run. The general public probably won't know the difference, so I think Mako fits perfectly, as Robb said. I think it will do well, but, let's hope the trim doesn't turn Mako into a Raging Bull copycat.
