  1. Has anyone been to the World of Illumination display and Holiday Square at SFSTL? Just curious of thoughts/opinions of it. Also, and I assume the answer is "No," but wondering if the dining plans work for Holiday Square.
  2. I notice on the SFSTL site that HITP is being called "Holiday in the Park Lights." And it no longer lists the rides that will be open during it. Things could change between now and then, but maybe the number of open rides will be scaled back a lot this year during it?
  3. Just out of curiosity, was there ever anything official from SFSTL as to why the helix on The Boss was removed? Was an official reason ever given? I know some people thought the helix was way too rough, but was that the actual reason for its removal? Were the trains causing issues to the track? I agree it was rough, but that was part of the coaster's charm. I would have rather they kept the helix. I was much against the Boss ever getting the RMC treatment, but now that the trains basically stop before the third drop, barely make it to the 4th drop, and no helix, I hope it does get the RMC treatment. Still thinking something big in 2021 for the park's 50 year anniversary.
  4. So, we have never been to Holiday World, but thinking of making a trip there this fall. If we go in October, is there a risk that some of the coasters don't run if the temperature drops below a certain temperature? Or is that not an issue?
  5. Anyone here make it to the park Monday or Tuesday evening? Curious how long the lines were and if the park was crowded or not.
  6. As I was riding The Boss last night, I realized that somehow, I had never ridden it after dark before. Hard to believe. But wow, what an awesome nighttime ride. The fact that a decent chunk of the ride is in total darkness is really cool. Also, as a side note, hats off to the head ride-operator. He looked to be genuinely enjoying his job. I am old enough to remember going to the Country Fair at Six Flags. I wish I had pictures of it. I remember sitting in the stands watching the demolition derby. If memory serves me correctly, the whole place kinda had a Silver Dollar City feel to it, with crafts and fall-like decorations all over the place. I can still hear the TV commercial jingle in my head.
  7. Anyone know what the size of the crowd might be like on the evening of Saturday, September 23rd? I assume there is a private event during the day, since it is only open to the public from 5pm - 9pm. Also it is bring a friend for $9.99.
  8. My prediction is that there will be small to mid-sized additions in 2018, 2019, and 2020. With 2021 being the 50 year anniversary of the park, it would make sense to make a big impact to celebrate that. A new signature coaster might be the perfect addition to celebrate 50 years.
  9. Per the email I received back from SFSTL: Lunch 2:30 - 4:30 Dinner 5:00 - 8:00 Snack 2:30 - 8:30
  10. Anyone know what the dining plan situation will be during HITP? Will it still be a lunch, dinner, and snack?
