  1. My visit Saturday was a blast! I arrived around noon and left about 7:30, didn't catch much haunt stuff, but the haunt really doesn't excite me anyway. I've done the haunt thing at VF and WOF three times over the last five-six years, so I didn't mind missing out on the haunt. I ended up going with some relatives, including a 5 year old, and you really do realize how much you appreciate all the investments they have done with Planet Snoopy and Route 76 the last few years when you have a young child along. We tried High Roller with the 5 year old and it was still just a tad too scary for her. She is very tall for her age, so while she makes the height requirement, she still is very young, so maybe next year she'll be psychologically able to ride the coasters just fine. Due to this I didn't get as many rides on the roller coasters as I'd like, but it was a good switch up taking the 5 year old on all the smaller rides for the first time! Every coaster enthusiast should have to take a small child to a park for an afternoon! Every coaster was running one train, besides Wild Thing, running two. Lines were not bad, but were a little slow due to the one train operations and limited staff, so that's understandable. I think the longest wait was 20 minutes (4-5 cycles) for Renegade during the day. If they were running two trains on each coaster though, trains would have been half empty, so they really weren't needed. My first ride on Wild Thing, there was about 10 people waiting in the station and 6 of them were waiting for the front seat. Steel Venom was down, which was unfortunate. Watched a few test runs and it kept misfiring every other time. I've seen it act up like that before, so I didn't give it any hope of opening at all the rest of the time I was there. The park looked great! It might have been since 2012 since I've visited and the park looked much more visually appealing than I remember. I've opted for WOF the last couple years. Renegade is still underrated in my eyes, I prefer Renegade over Prowler by a slight margin. I still prefer Mamba to Wild Thing by a mile, as I feel Wild Thing "coasts" a little too much during its turn around. Wish we had something I could compare to Patriot.. Northern Lights was way better than I thought it would be, so that was a nice surprise. Another thing I noticed and already knew: Dinosaur's Alive is such a waste of a TON of space... I'll probably end up going again next year, as my relatives loved it! The new slide complex looked incredible so I'll have to check it out during the summer next year. We came to the conclusion the last time they visited were 2003 and 2005 based on the rides they remembered being there, so it's good to know my useless knowledge of Valleyfair history was actually useful for something. It was the five-year-olds first time visiting and if the haunt scarers didn't start coming out I don't think we would have ever convinced her to leave... Perfect day, weather and everything, 10/10! All the negatives can suck one!
  2. Haha, my bad Mdcastle. It's been a long week. My week has going the same way this thread is going.. For those that have gone the past couple Saturdays, how have crowds been the past couple weekends? Are most the long lines for the Haunts? Are ride lines ever long during the day and night?
  3. Two 90-100 foot vertical drop slides are kid baby slides? I don't think you're going to see a taller slide complex than what they put in last year. Does any Cedar Fair park besides Valleyfair have close to 100 foot tall vertical drop slides? Not that I can recall. The only other ones I've been to and seen in person are Oceans of Fun and Soak City at Cedar Point, and they didn't have anything close to that. There is something you negative Nancys can be happy about. Cedar Fair just put in the Millennium Force of water slides at Valleyfair and nobody appreciates it. Only Valleyfair fans...
  4. Good! Don't go to the park anymore! Especially this Saturday because I want faster lines and less teenagers! Seriously, don't do it... Looks like the weather will be perfect this weekend!! Hopefully it's not too busy. At least not during the day so I can get my year's worth of coaster riding in.. Can't wait!! Haven't been to Valleyscare since 2010..
  5. You're reading too far into it. If you want that $25 million dollar inverted-giga-rmc, you're going to need to spend $25 million more dollars. Wait! Don't forget Cedar Point's cut! Remember? According to some, Cedar Point gets a share of every one of the smaller park's profits! Because God knows Cedar Point doesn't make enough money to support itself and build its own rides.. All kidding aside though, if we want this B&M coaster thing to happen anytime soon..Coke & Corn Dog Fundraiser!!..Who's with me?!?!?
  6. I'm glad they haven't received a B&M yet. Now when we finally get one in 2021 we can have the new, improved B&M restraints! I too think that a huge water park renovation would be a better investment suited for the park in 2017/2018 than a new coaster. I think prior company management let certain parts (Kidworks/Bear County, Challenge Park, Water Park) of the park get way too outdated and new management views getting those areas updated as a high priority. I love that they are taking this approach as the park is looking great! When we finally do get a coaster, people that may have not visited the park in awhile will see how much more the park has to offer, which in return will hopefully make them revisit the park on a more regular basis.
  7. Remember when Garyman6 used to hint a new roller coaster for 2016... Like he actually knew something??? Lol what a bunch of BS Not to attack or pile on here, but I think he even had some sort of stupid unscramble phrase thing as he claimed what was in the works for 2016. Never bought it for a second... Always remember: Those who actually know, very rarely tell! On a side note, I'm pretty sure I nailed the actual name last week with the eggs hatching hint (stole the name from the Canada's Wonderland announcement). Guess that makes me the most reliable source on this thread..
  8. Wahh Wahhh Wahhhhhhh... Sounds like Flying Eagles will take the old Chaos spot. Should fit in with the Route 76 theme just fine. With the rumor of a huge water park expansion/new entrance/new parking lot in the next couple years, smaller, cheaper additions like this were to be expected. I've said it once and I'll say it again, don't get your hopes up for roller coaster for at least 5 years. It's obvious the water park is the main focus in the near future! It does NOT matter how long the coaster drought has been.. Can't be mad at today's announcement though. Something needed to be done with the Amphitheater and another ride to draw people down the Route 76 pathway is always a plus. Two more needs checked off the list..
  9. I've never seen so many people excited for a new family ride announcement before!! But in regards to the tweet..Eggs to hatch? Sounds like a Larson Flyers hint. Canada's Wonderland named their new Larson Flyers "Flying Eagles," so perhaps they will use the same name..
  10. Cedar Point considered Pipe Scream a coaster in its countdown to their announcement. So in Cedar Fair's eyes we just got a coaster in 2014 in Northern Lights. So we're not due till 2020 people! 40% chance of a coaster next year? I want $10 on the other 60%..I don't care what the odds are..and I want you to push the button until all of Clark County runs out of paper..
  11. ^Wouldn't the Screamscape information be from this guy.. I'm not saying he doesn't have "sources" and I don't want him to get all defensive because I'm not attacking him or anyone, but 9 out of 10 people in this thread could of named all these possibilities. In fact we have been for months!
  12. No, I meant that in past years, someone (Drewbie, rjoles, and others on other forums I've been apart of) have basically came out and said, "We're getting 'X' ride and it's going in 'Y' location." Then a short time later, an announcement comes out and it's exactly what they said. I was just surprised we haven't had that this year with so many Valleyfair enthusiasts being dedicated to this thread. This year we've had a proposal found online in April and a bunch of people figuring we will get a Flyers cause everybody else in the chain has one. No solid details mentioned by anyone...thats all. Guess all we can do is wait till Saturday. Does anybody know if they will have an announcement presentation at the campout?
  13. You basically just threw out every possibility for new additions. They could get Larson Flyers, they could get a Frisbee, it could be a different flat ride, they could get a water park expansion, etc... Of course your "sources"/you will be right to some extent. ^Anybody who follows the industry and looks at what Cedar Fair has been doing with their parks could guess that... I'm really surprised something hasn't leaked yet. In the past we have always had somebody come out of the woodwork and basically nail exactly what we are getting right before it is announced. Not the guessing game as mentioned above...
  14. Haha..it's funny cause it's true!! Wild Thing HAS airtime, but as many stated it is very weak and not intense at all. Still an enjoyable ride though. I'm excited to visit the park this weekend as it has been a couple years since I've been there. I might buy a season pass just because you get a free visit this year and if I go once next year, I already saved money..
