  1. So... the Hopi Hari Intamin 10 inversion coaster finally found it's home. The coaster was sitting in storage since 2011 when the park had financial issues and couldn't afford to assemble it, then it was bought by a business man that sold it to a park in Malaysia where the coaster couldn't be constructed also, so it has been recently bought by Flamingo Land and is set to open next year. The construction is moving very quickly. Some photos released by the park on twitter:
  2. Never paid much attention to this park until now. Looks like they have a great collection of flat rides and coasters and seem to be running all of them even on a rainy day, really nice. On my bucket list to visit from now on for sure.
  3. - Now it's official, Monte Makaya is being relocated to Mirabilandia Park in Brazil, still no date announced of when it will be reassembled and open again. Terra Encantada park in Rio is now being fully demolished to make way for new comdos after several years closed and rotting away. Sad to see another park in Brazil ending this way. 4. - New details revealed for Kong ride, still no date announced though. THE STORY REVEALED FOR SKULL ISLAND: REIGN OF KONG It’s time to unearth the island’s mysteries Mike WestMike West | February 25, 2016 I know you’ve been waiting for more details about Skull Island: Reign of Kong at Universal’s Islands of Adventure. The time has finally come! Over the next few months, I’ll be revealing all the details on our newest attraction. Here’s what to expect on your incredible journey. It all begins with Skull Island – a land shrouded in mystery, steeped in ancient tales of colossal creatures fighting for dominance of a lost world. The name alone is enough to keep any adventurous soul from setting foot on its foreboding shoreline, to say nothing of mustering the courage to explore its terrifying interior. Despite the apprehension of such an undertaking, you decide to join the 8th Wonder Expedition Company on their daring research adventure. Your mission: to discover species of unknown origin dwelling within the hidden mysteries of the island. Your hope is to substantiate the existence of prehistoric creatures. Your first objective is to reach the communication base amid the outlying ruins. Communication is key and a crackling radio broadcast from scientists, expedition leaders and fellow explorers warns of the treacheries that lay ahead. Undaunted—though certainly a bit uneasy—you head towards your next objective: the 8th Wonder Expedition base camp. There is a hypnotic presence in the rhythmic beating of distant drums that draws you deeper and deeper into an ancient ruin, almost against your will. Signs of a native presence become evident. But are they still around? Finally, you make it through to base camp and expedition vehicles. You set off for the heart of the island to rendezvous with your expedition leader. Within minutes, you come upon a massive temple wall. Drums beat, flames arise, huge wooden doors swing open and you drive through. You now face a dark labyrinth of caves where danger lurks around every bend. You manage to narrowly escape the caves… but the jungle ahead holds yet another breathtaking challenge. Suddenly, you find yourself in the midst of a raging struggle between creatures of incomprehensible size and ferocity. All seems lost until, from out of nowhere, a deafening roar cuts through the melee. The mighty Kong has arrived! But is he friend or foe? Well, you’ll have to find out this summer. The next chapter in the evolution of the King Kong legend is about to unfold. This immersive new experience will feature one of the longest rides of any Universal attraction, along with several new firsts for Universal Orlando Resort. 5. - There is already a pic on the internet showing the boat for the Pirates ride in Shanghai, they won't be using the omnimover system as you can see. The pic is in low quality unfortunately.
  6. Wow, I guess nobody was expecting a coaster in the Toy Story Land. I thought it would be in a much smaller area, they sure exceeded expectations with this one. As for Star Wars Land, it looks amazing, even though I never watched the movies and have no idea what is all this. At last, I found it kinda odd they just announced one attraction for the Avatar Land, I remember seeing some type of boat ride in the concept art, or maybe they did and I'm not aware of it (?).
  7. OMG, that's really scary to see. Hope everyone's ok.
  8. Universal just shared this at their official blog, Hulk will close at Sept. 8 and will stay closed until next summer! They also mention new enhancements to its storyline, ride vehicles and overall experience. Could this be they are actually changing or adding speakers to the trains? UNDERGO MAJOR ENHANCEMENT AND REFURBISHMENT WORK Doug Boemler WareingDoug Boemler Wareing August 14, 201 We want to let you know that The Incredible Hulk Coaster will be getting some great, new enhancements to its storyline, ride vehicles and overall experience. That work means we’ll have to close the attraction beginning Sept. 8. It will roar back to life next summer and we’ll keep you posted on the details. In the meantime, be sure to check out the other great, thrilling, experiences at Universal’s Islands of Adventure, including Dr. Doom’s FearFall, Dragon Challenge, Jurassic Park River Adventure and more. I’ve been lucky enough to get a sneak peek at plans for The Incredible Hulk Coaster, and I can tell you the overall experience is going to feel more immersive and high-tech. But don’t worry—the attraction will still have the same “Incredible” personality that makes it one of America’s most popular coasters. We’ll be sharing cool new updates over time, so be sure to subscribe to the blog on the sidebar or sign up here to get emails on all Universal Orlando news."
  9. The problem is the brazilian government do not encourages the theme park industry here, the taxes and costs to maintain a theme park here are ridiculous. It's sad though, cause as you can see, theme parks really resonate well with brazilians, but they don't have good quality parks, so travelling to Orlando seems to be the only way to have some fun.
  10. Well, since none of the Brazilians members came here to reply i decided to do so, lol. The park is actually going through a horrible phase, most of the rides are closed for a long long time (some for years), people say it's because they are waiting for maintenance pieces that have to be imported, others says that's because they don't have enough staff or people interested on working there to keep the rides running. But the thing is, some rides like the top spin are closed for like a year or more! The shuttle loop coaster opened for like a week in the past couple years and then closed again. The reviews on the park's facebook page seems to be getting a lot worse day by day, people pay good money to go there and when they arrive, there are like 3 or 4 rides open and the queues times are ridiculous, like 4+ hours to get a ride on the main roller coaster (the wooden one). Since the drop tower accident in 2012 they couldn't keep the construction on the new Intamin roller coaster going, the construction site is abandoned ever since and none have been said about it starting again anytime soon. The drop tower is still closed since the accident too, by the way. Last week a newspaper reported that the park is planning to close for good due to financial issues, it's not the first time though, this already happened in 2009 when another company bought the park claiming they would revitalize it, but they couldn't, (the park already had financial issues since its opening, it never operated without debt) and looks like they are finally giving up now, so, unless another company shows up i guess it's likely the park could close soon. Sadly enough, Brazil will only have one major theme park left if this happens (Beto Carrero World), so, dear Orlando residents, expect more and more brazillians to come for a long long time. (sorry if i made some grammar mistakes, my english isn't *that* good. Bye!)
