  1. That is a smoke effect The slides are really steep. I did those in 2004 and sitting there to go down... I was terrified! It just a bit less in real, but still extremely steep.
  2. This report was made for Themeparkvision.be, were the board of Rollercoasterfriends is hosted. For the opening of the season I went on the V.I.P. Trip – Various Italian Parks. However… I though it was worth translating. So here it goes… Day 1 - Movie Studios A whole lot of photos... I hope somebody takes the time to read everything. I did the best I can with the translation. Enjoy! Before getting started with my job in Walibi World I had one weekend to visit a few parks further away. So I signed up for one of the 40 spots in the V.I.P. Trip. The trip began the day before, with a 4 hour train ride from Walibi World (I was there for a few hours)to Mechelen in Belgium. My pick up was waiting for me over there. I slept in Belgium because we flight was at 06.35 in the morning from Brussels. After a short ride to Tom’s home the night felt, a very short night… Told you, a very short night! Once arrived at the airport around 04.00 in the morning I was still a bit sleepy. This was my third trip in four years with this group, so a bunch of new faces for me. So the waiting began… Good morning!B] After a short flight, about 20 minutes ahead of schedule, we arrived in Milano Bergamo. While the 8 drivers picked up the rental cars, we had to wait for a moment.. After 15 minutes the first cars came in. We booked midclass cars, they gave us much better! Volkswagen Passat, Mercedes C-Class, Opel Safira etc. That is the way we like it! Park 1: Movie Studios, a 1 hour drive from the airport. The fastest car, the Mercedes, managed to arrive last at the park! This would be a return visit for me, until this weekend was my last visit 4 years ago. A blue sky, it would me a lot less blue later on…B] It is a small park, but everything looks good and clean. For most European fans the classic free-fall is a ride they had never done. Luckily for us Movie Studios bought one last year. All I can say: I love the ride! Terminator 2, a 5D show. We did that one later on. It was “just oke”. The groups sticked together, we walked with approx. 15 people a group. You can find show cars trough the entire park. Next was Magma. A wild ride with special effects, unfortunately 50% was closed. The ride will totally re-open this summer, after a hugh upgrade. What can I say... Tom is (I guess) explaining something... Dukes of Hazzard-car Guys... it is a family park!! Does the song “Together” tells you something? Yes, High School Musical. They liked to rip-off stuff in Italy. If it is a good rip-off, okay… I can understand. Well, this was a sh*t rip-off. A fight/stunt show that sucked on the music of High School Musical with a Rambo setting. Yeah right… I don’t wanna see the movie! A awesome ride! U-571, ever heard of it?.Basicly it is the best non coaster ride in Italy. You take a submarine, make it really small en stinky (realistic!) and let all sit face to face. You get totally soaked! The best part… you are not secured, you are free to move. That means that at the end of the ride you are close to sitting on the lap of the person beside you. Soaked! Airtime! That’s the coaster-spirit. That cable, it is the power supply (not a joke). Lago Di Garda. Just to in between photos. A really well themed top spin and a really long horror house… really long! Mini-log flume time Here we go! Pascal is having fun. And he is not the only one Way to go guys, sunglasses on, hands in the air! I think they know that they are getting really wet in a moment... The most lame ride ever. Don’t know what to say…. What, I had to get one good looking lady of the group in this report!? ] While most of the group went for a Indiana Jones Show, we decided to get ourselves soaked one more time. Small group photo. After that and the show we were all tired. We went for the exit, however… on our way we ran into a crew that needed people to fight Rocky for a scene. Instructions. One of our ladies… where is the mini skirt?! Our referee introduces the fighters. A direct hit!B] But it wouldn’t help anymore…B] And the winner is... Stien, one of our group, finally ends of in the arms of a strong man this trip…B] I told you. Picture time afterwards. The blue sky was gone… and so were we! The group from the V.I.P. Trip 2008! A long day, but still enough energy for some smooth dancing moves. Time to leave the parking. After getting lost with the car I was in, we arrived 45 later at the hotel than the car in front of us The room. Food... food.... Alcohol.... alcohol! After that we went for the hotel. Some people do strange stuff on their way! Like here... A small group stayed in the lobby for a few more hours to hang out, orders found there way to the room. The alarm went again on 06.15 the next day… Day 2 will be online later on.
  3. It may look cool, but the coaster isn't. The waiting line is the best part of the entire ride!
  4. Now a bit more information, instead of "shouting' it. The problem seems to be the chain. Translation by http://www.coasterplace.com
  5. I borrowed some photo's from a other site, to show it really was busy: By the way, I just love this effect:
  6. It wasn't empty at all. Some photo's are taken just after the people got out. Around 23:45, just a guess, 1.500 visitors were standing in front of the stage.
  7. Well, most of you won't know it. Every Wednesday en Saturday in the summer, Walibi World celebrates "New Year's Eve". The entire park is a party mood. Flames beside Goliath's bunny hops, rides are pimped with rough music, smoke and disco lights. From 23:15 the mainstreet fills up, for the "Sjon & Sjeffrie Discosjowwww". 45 minutes off pure fun, singing along and crazyness till it is midnight. The night ends with fireworks. The ferris wheel has fireworks on it, it even spins with the fireworks on as a final gift. I wasn't in the mood to make photo's a lot from the fireworks. To give you a impression, here are some photo's of a hell of a good night. I arrived in the park around 19:00, I came out of work. All the people seen on photo's are Dutch themeparkfans.
  8. It would make sense... They just didn't know BTW: Those aren't Vekoma trains, but KumBak trains.
  9. If the they wouldn't had the brains to close ther restaints they would fly out in the turn after the second loop. Efteling did not give any reaction at all so far, just like they didn't last year when a upstopwheel of the same coaster felt off.
  10. There is nobody in the back. They started to get people out from the back first, yes ... they did lost their brains, the supervisors how made it done that way around. A few at the front close their restrain just in time, a employee of Efteling jumps a side just in time.
  11. The train shoots trough. Keep your eye on the staff and the people in the second row with their restaints open. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FDpB1JBRTEI
  12. Well, it still is the same as under Star Parks. Only they are taking move rides away or to replace them with play areas for kids.
  13. I am using a Canon Powershor S2, just a basic camera. Elissa, next time I will make a special Goliath report for you. Ok
  14. Not talking, just some Walibi World photo's of April this year. That's all.
  15. I don't know if it is intresting for the membersm because it is a serious video (scary, I know) ... But anyway; the download ... Direct link isn't allowed, sorry.
