  1. This book had just recently came out and it does look rather intriguing. I plan on buying this book and checking it out. Summary: What happens to amusement park rides once they are put into storage or destroyed? They are magically transported to a place known as Amusement Park Between, a park that coexists within any other and is only accessible by those who are of its blood. There are no limits and no humans. The only residents are the rides. However, they are much different from our kind. Amusement Park Between’s rides are alive, having both the characteristics of man and beast. Amusement Park Between was once merry and joyous, but for the past several years, it has spiraled into turmoil. An evil tyrant known as Ironwheel has taken control, casting a dark shadow over Amusement Park Between, his evil intentions endangering both their world and our own. The rides’ only hope is the key to their prophecy: the red will defeat the black. That particular key is the only ride that was created differently: Railrunner, the red roller coaster. This is his story. http://www.barnesandnoble.com/w/twisted-miranda-leek/1112398881?ean=9781496921284
  2. I am a furry, and this is my own character who best represents my personality and interests.
  3. Photos part 2: The adult pool area. They've taken down the zip line that you drop from, and have also closed off access to one of the slides. More of the previous picture. 2 slides that let you rocket out of. Talk about an atomic wedgie. My camera is too slow. :C Area of the entrance, and then another water ride just behind. It's a nice lounging ride that spills you into multiple areas, eventually leading you to the end. Final splashdown. This area has always been clear-cut. There's potential for a few rides or even a coaster, but it still lays barren. From the hill looking out to Mud Lake. Higher up on the same hill. And I'm flying hiiiiiigh... Heh heh. Thought this guy was hilarious. Not sure why. CONSTRUCTION PHOTOS! Nerdy stuff, oooh. We got pipes! 3 slides confirmed! Twisty. Confirmed Plants vs Zombies 3! More water slide pieces gather just behind the pirate ship ride. Yeah there's quite a collection over here. Another good view of the plot going on. It's time for Timberhawk Ride of Prey! A decent lift speed, gets you up there in about 10 seconds. Very smooth ride for a woodie. Loading station. View from the blank hill. The loading station is pretty basic. Arms up in the air makes all happy campers. I'm next! Another view of the station. This area here provides a good head chopper illusion. 2 trains run consistently, so the wait time ain't that all terrible. On a real busy day, you wouldn't wait any more than 20 minutes. For those who have a hard on for hard wood structural construction. Timberhawk has always been a photogenic ride. The first drop has got a great roar to it with the forest surrounding the area. PRAISE THE COASTER! Mmm oh yes. Wild Thing! Taking on the first corkscrew. There's a positive and a negative to this ride. Positive: Riders get to go twice in a row. Negative: Only 1 train, thus long line wait time. This coaster recently got a new paint job about 2 years back. Use to be green tracks. THROUGH THE TREES! It really is quite a photogenic ride from a distance. With the new slide open, so has the path extended to get more footage of the backside of Wild Thing. Getting ready for the loop. Scream on past the station! UP-SIDE-DOWN! Nerd shots! This should have a NSFW label. Station shot. A little closer up to the first drop. You do get rather close to the track.
  4. Heya everyone! Finally decided to make an account after lurking this site for many years, now having a reason to contribute with some park photos! Headed on over to Wild Waves Enchanted Park over in Federal Way, WA, on a beautiful sunny Saturday (Temperature was maxing at 96°, highest it has been all year so far). Upon arrival, the parking area was getting busy as usual for opening time. First thing I noticed is that they have attempted to organize the entrance line now. No, there aren't any fencing que lines to get into the park, but at least now there is a large lane of people that wraps around the outskirt of the parking area. It really was quite alarming to see the mass amount of people that wait for their turn to enter. Assuming it would take roughly 45mins to get in due to only 4 lanes open with their turntables, the process was surprisingly quick and painless, lasting only about 15mins. Not to make any judgements, but I was floored seeing so many fat children at the park. The last time I had visited the park was a few years ago. This visit was a real eye-opener for me not only that I have been getting more active with my physique, but also as I have matured more into an adult now. Healthy kids are honestly now a minority. There were more beer guts on kids than there were with adults. Since Six Flags had lost ownership of the park, there has been much needed improvements in which I am content with how the new management is running it. For one, they are now including outside source of entertainment. Like for example, they had smurf mascots and a bird exhibit come in today. They seem to cycle through different sources of entertainment on a weekly basis, which is a nice thought to have guests continue going to their park. About half of the rides have had a new, much needed fresh coating of paint. Flowers have flourished more now, and also the janitorial work has massively improved (Still some needed progress though). The staff of the park is a hit-and-miss situation. There were some that didn't mind operating rides or providing food services to paying customers. As a matter of fact, when I decided to try out some Dip n' dots for the first time at one of the many carts around, one of the ladies was really approachable and informative about her services. She was very friendly with a smile brightened across her face (Maybe she thought I was cute, who knows). But it felt great to be able to enjoy the day with a tasty treat. While there some others who looked like as if a zombie apocalypse had taken over their mind. They would stare blankly at a fence and call out their safety requirements, and take their sweet time checking all safety harnesses, lap bars, etc. There is currently construction going on, in which they intend to build a few new water slides to replace their older one. The area is rather small and compact, so it'll be interesting to see the layout of it once completed. With the construction going on, a major pathway was blocked off, forcing park guests to walk around Mud Lake to go from the water rides over to the park rides. Overall, the park has made more improvement and seems to be taking a turn for the better. I look forward to going back into the park again, hopefully during Fright Fest or when the Christmas Lights are up again. I know you guys want to get right to the pictures, so here ya'll go! Now that we have found a parking spot, we must head to the back of the line. All the way... Down there... Yeah... It looks like it'll take forever. But the staff was very quick and efficient. Here's the park map in case you were wondering! Mud Lake! The water level has went down quite a bit. Starting to look a lot like mud on one half of the side. The local fish that often gather over at the gaming sidewalk. That's where all the feeding occurs. There are gumball machines filled with fish food that can be gathered for a quarter a piece. Even some of the precious, wonderful, adorable, lovable ducks enjoy a peaceful swim over here. Another view of the lake. The I-5 Dive, the skycoaster. Last year it got the pink coating of paint, in appreciation for breast cancer awareness. Can be seen right off of I-5 hence the name. I've always wanted to try out this ride, so we made pla Classic Ring of Fire ride. Talked about cramped seatings. Front shot. Hang glider ride that is on the hill side overlooking the lake and construction. One of the new attractions here, this is basically a zip line that pulls riders to the tower over by a few slides, and then sends them zipping back across the park. This ride has a price tag to get admission for, and honestly it ain't really worth it. PIRATE! I love these rides. It gets pretty high up there. Often cases where when 1 side is up high, they all scream. And as it swings to the other side, the others scream. It becomes a dueling match on which side can scream the loudest. This week at the park, they had a bird exhibit going on. That might be too sarcastic of a sign. It was only the side of a decent sized porch. They weren't quite ready to start the show yet. BIRRRRDS! The gaming area was pretty dead majority of the day, thanks to the construction of the watersides blocking the major path that links the water park to the rides. Here we have the original Enchanted Railway ride that has been with the park since the first opening. Lots of forest, lots of cool shading. Some cute little theming. Definitely for the younger audience. CHOO CHOO! The Baron flyers ride. The name slips off the top of my head, but this is a fun little ride to go on. Some of the plenty areas of theming they have throughout the park. Western theme! Don't look at the suspicious ride behind the shack! It is not important! This area has been closed off to the public and is now where they have temporary storage. A red barn! OOOoooooOOOOOooooh. NO this is NOT Knott's Berry! These flowers are so lovely. *Sniffs* WEEEEEE! Can you guess what kind of amusement ride this is? If you guessed a lemonade stand, you are deeply wrong. Teaching kids how to call out a bluff during poker. More theming! Another decoration. I love the idea of filling it up with plantations. WE FOUND JIMMY HOFFA'S GRAVE! Another new ride for me. They have replaced the potato sack slide with potato sack slide v2! Inter-tube addition. The worlds slowest conveyor belt brings up the only 4 inter-tubes for this ride. It takes a while to get through the small enough line. It may look small, but that bump in the middle gives you some surprising air time if you're a big guy. Kiddie coaster! The back wheels of the cars are always sparking fire. It's normal apparently. This is also another fairly new ride here, about 3 years old. This ride replaces the carousel swing ride. ZAMPERLA! I've got my eye on you. This thing tossed you around like a rag doll. You could smell the food here from the Kangaroo hop ride. Man it smelled real good. Did I just get teleported to Busch Gardens Williamsburg? Fishy fountain! During Fright Fest, they decorate the fishes all black, glue on some vampire teeth, and turn the water all blood red. It looks so cool. BLEUEUEHERRRRRRGGGGG!! No theme park is complete without a complimentary carousal ride. No music was playing sadly. With the growing latino population coming to the park, they have been adding more and more Mexican food stalls. Disko! Disko and I-5 Dive the same shot! I'm such a pro. :3 "Come on kids, let's get you all hyped up on sugar while you're already having fun!" Overpriced candy. Yummy yum yum. Self explanatory. Psst. Hey you... Yeah you... Come closer. SURPRISE RRRAAAAWWWWRRrrr. <3 What just happened over there? Safari Jeeps, another cute little theme ride for the kids to go on. They drive around and look at jungle stuff. BEAUTIFUL FLOWERS! *Sniff some more* Twister is another classic ride that I thoroughly enjoy going on. One of those slow-poke ride operators who took their sweet-ass time getting everyone seated and checking safety harnesses. I clocked him taking 8mins 48 seconds to from unloading passengers to starting the ride up again. This are is really serene and quiet. Almost no one goes over here. If you ever need to sit down to eat or get a few minutes to yourself after hearing your nagging significant other for the majority of the day. Tea cup ride! Fresh coating of pain and it looks so much better than it did back then. Originally the ride would also bounce up and down, but that apparently caused a lawsuit after some incident with a kid, and so now that feature ain't used anymore. GON GEET MEH SUM AH DEM GOALD. Hyuck hyuck. Brakes do not exist on this contraption. Those final turns can bruise your sides pretty damn good. Weeeee-OW #$^! Another view. As fun as this ride is, this tends to break down often. There was one time when I was on the ride, and it happened to break down while completely upsidedown. They could not get it to come back down; it locked up. After about 40 minutes of serious head rush, we all had our feet back on precious grounds. One of the very popular rides during the Summer (Let's be honest: Washington folk can't handle weather over 80°f very well, so they swarm here). Seems harmless. Well you thought WRONG! Complimentary water guns available for those who want to dispense some of their precious change (Half the cannons don't even hit the boat). Lots and lots of flipping to ensue. Was worried the glare of the lens would mess this photo up, but it turned out good surprisingly. Another view of the kiddie coaster and slide. Baby Ferris Wheels. There needs to be more of them. This use to the the Octopus ride, but that kept breaking down on a daily basis and closing for many lengths of time. Eventually they decided to get rid of it. It currently sits out in the parking lot area. Oooh nifty. Now you know who is posting this TR. You are a captive audience when it comes to prices on food there. We brought our own cooler (Can't bring into the park). OH YES PITA BREAD. <3 Now that we got food in our bellies, the trio moved on over to the I-5 Dive. Virgin fliers, woo! I managed to bonk my head into the metal loading platform while our feet got swept off the ground. Going up! This face means I had fun. They need to play music on this! Not really sure why I took this photo, but whatever. Another limited view from the area that is closed off for construction. Arcades galore! They got rid of the DDR machine. Now to focus on some of the water rides the park provides! That large orange slide above the sign? That is the name of the ride. Wave pool right as you enter the park. Some small decor for the area. As you might be able to tell, we are right next to the highway. People love to eat here. It's mostly all deep-fried stuff. Not really my kind of taste. Kid area for water fun. HOOKS LAGOON. ARRRR! All the kids seems to be having a blast. "More drinks, me hearty." And that's how you can explain getting drunk to kids.
  5. Good to know. Thanks for the reply.
  6. Recently went to the water/theme park over in Federal Way, Washington called "Wild Waves Enchanted Park". Took plenty of pictures and was planning to post them up on the subforum there, but I noticed that I cannot post a new topic and include my review. Do I need to reach a certain post limit before adding a review for that park? I've been lurking around the forums with ya guys for plenty of years, but never made an account until just now. Thanks for your time.
