  1. Quick question: are Kings Island’s opening procedures the same as they were in July? I remember the parking lot opening at 10:15, park gates opening at 10:30 (or immediately after you park), and the rides open at 11. Any difference from that?
  2. Ooo here’s mine! 1. Steel Vengeance (goes between this or X2 for my favorite coaster) 2. Raptor (I have an addiction to this coaster) 3. Maverick (the iMac of roller coasters) 4. Top Thrill Dragster (launch is insane) 5. Magnum XL-200 (all hail the Death Run) 6. Millennium Force (yeah I said it) 7. Rougarou (most underrated coaster I’ve ridden) 8. Valravn (snoozefest) 9. GateKeeper (snoozefest AND surprisingly rough) 10. Wicked Twister (lots of fun around here) 11. Blue Streak (solid classic woodie) 12. Gemini (not intense at all, but good fun when racing) 13. Iron Dragon (“Hey honey, I fell asleep because I couldn’t feel a single force.”) 14. Cedar Creek Mine Ride (I get the worst staple every time I ride) 15. Corkscrew (would love to see a retrack with new trains)
  3. It probably works similar to CP, and I’m going to KI in two weeks so that helps a lot! That probably tells me that I should get to Cedar Point a good amount of time before my 10am reservation. Thanks for the help!
  4. Here's a question for anyone who can answer it. I'm heading to Cedar Point for my first visit of the season next weekend (I'm a Platinum Passholder), and I'm wondering what does a 10am reservation means when the park says it's opening at 11? Does the park allow you to get access passes during that hour time slot, does the rides open, or is everyone held at a point before 11? I do have a 10am reservation already so that's not an issue.
  5. I'm a Platinum Passholder every year and whenever I go to Cedar Point, I always arrive about an hour before Early Entry opens and drive around to park in the waterpark lot. Even when it's the middle of summer when the waterpark is open, park officials don't give a crap about passholders parking back there. I've been able to park back there every single time and it's never closed. If you remember, CP opens the park in stages. At 8:15, the gates open and everyone goes to the first holding point. At 8:30, you go to the second hold point and wait there until 9:00, when the park opens. From there, I suggest doing the Running of the Bulls so the line for SV is short. I also suggest keeping your phone in your car for Early Entry, as you would have to get a locker otherwise, allowing the line to build up. Hope this tip helps!
  6. Thank you for all these great points, and I've pretty much decided I'll go to X2 first (will be my 100th roller coaster). This last question may be stupid, but at rope drop, do people run/sprint or walk? I'm used to doing the Running of the Bulls to Steel Vengeance everytime Cedar Point opens for early entry. I always get the first train of the day. I'm just wondering if I'll have to run to X2 or not.
  7. I need some help here. I will be going to SFMM (first Six Flags park for me) for the first time in June, and I need help with touring plans. My home park is Cedar Point (yeah be jealous), and I've been to many big coaster parks such as Kings Island, Hersheypark, Kings Dominion, Carowinds, Busch Gardens Williamsburg, and Busch Gardens Tampa, so I know how to navigate most parks. The problem I'm having with is how many days to go (2 max) and what ride to ride first. My coaster count is currently sitting at 99, so the first ride I do at Magic Mountain will be my 100th roller coaster. I'm having a hard time deciding between X2 and Twisted Colossus and also what plan I should follow. I'm leaning toward Twisted Colossus because my favorite coaster is Steel Vengeance (my only RMC) and from what I've heard it's the best ride in the park. Any opinions on what I should do?
