  1. Today was a great day for my friends and I at the park. We went up to renew our season passes and once we got there realized it was Scotiabank Day at the park. We didn't buy the seperate tickets for the event so we knew we weren't going to get in. But, there was a problem with the park's computers and we all got jr/sr passes instead of the regular renewals. The lady at the ticket counter told us to go to the front gate to make sure she did the passes right. When we got up there we told the supervisor what was going on and she scanned our passes to check them and then let us into the park on a private event day! I didn't get any pictures today because I was not expecting to get in but, it was pretty windy today and Backlot Stunt Coaster valleyed twice, once before the second launch and then again later in the day before the final turn into the brake run. Also around 2:30, Leviathan valleyed after the second airtime hill while they were doing some test runs after some sort of delay. I didn't notice too many changes throughout the park apart from Slingshot, and the waterpark construction. There was a new food stand at the front that was selling chicken wings (the name slipped my mind). I did notice today though, that The Bat really needs a new paint job. The supports were very faded. The track work on Wild Beast helps the ride greatly. The bottom of the first drop is tollerable now. They were working on Swing of the Century today. There was about 10 maintainence people there at one point. Windseeker was down all day because of the wind (kind of ironic, eh???) and WMG was down for the time I was there today. Also if anyone is wondering about the pricing of the new slingshot, it is $25 a person, which I personally think is kind of expensive.
  2. I thought they re-tracked most of the coaster like 2 years ago. Honestly there is no helping Wild Beast. It will always beat the s**t out of you. It's why I love it so much!
  3. Canada's Wonderland: Vaughan is one of my favourite cities around Toronto for good food. It's one of the few cities where you can find Asian, European and American food in the same plaza. It's a short drive (if you don't hit traffic) to Vaughan Mills on Rutherford and there is some epic restaurants there. My favourites are Lucky Bamboo, which is a Vietnamese restaurant that has amazing pho noodle soups. Vinnie Zucchinis is also amazing. It's an Italian buffet that is to die for. It's a little pricey ($15-25 bucks depending on the day and time), but you get to stuff your face with amazing food till your stomach explodes. La Taquizza is also pretty good for authentic Mexican food, considering it's Canada. Again all of these restaurants are literally like a 2 minute walk away from each other, and the best thing about them is you can see Behemoth and Leviathan peeking above the buildings out of the windows
  4. I like Leviathan better than Millennium and I305. The first drop is the best of all the gigas (maybe the best on any coaster) and the ride felt faster than I305 to me, mostly because of the surroundings of Leviathan. Plus, if you get a ride on Leviathan when the trim brakes are off, it is so much better because the last turn is taken at a much faster speed and there is more airtime on the second airtime hill.
  5. That track look like wingrider track. The spine of the track seems to be more rectangular. That is, unless the photo is distorted a little and the track has the normal square spine.
  6. ^I totally agree with that. I've visited the park almost everyday it has been open this year, and Fast Lane would of only been needed maybe five of them from what I saw. It would be best to wait until you get to the park to see how busy it is and then buy them then. But, during the week, if you show up to the park anywhere between 10 to noon, the park will look busy, but it isn't. For some reason, everyone will crowd at the front gate during the weekday mornings (I think it's cause they come on school trips), but once you get past it, the park is normally empty. The best way to see if it is busy and if you will need Fast Lane is to walk towards Leviathan, see the lines on some rides, and then (if needed) buy Fast Lane from the little shop beside the entrance to Leviathan. Plus, that little stretch of the park is the busiest section now, so if it doesn't look too bad from the front gate to Leviathan, you most likely will not need Fast Lane.
  7. ^^Also considering Knotts is open all year would help. Plus, property tax and taxes in general in Ontario are unbelievably high compared to anywhere in the states. So the expenses at CW would be alot higher. ^I don't know how many people show up to Haunt at Knotts, but I've been to Haunt at CW multiple times and the park is packed. I've waited up to an hour for some mazes. Idk what it's like at Knotts, but CW probably racks in a hefty profit from Haunt too.
  8. I don't think CW would remove Flight Deck. When I was at the park last week I rode it and it hurt like hell. One of the employees came up to me with a smile on his face. I told him this thing's gotta go and he said something on the lines of, the ride hurts but people love it and it's not going anywhere. It seems that regardless of how crappy a coaster is, CW will not remove it until it falls apart. They haven't got rid of a single coaster since they opened back in 81. I would consider this a blessing, if the coasters were good, but it's Wonderland! Almost every coaster is a clone, or it sucks (or both). I know the GP loves all the rides, but for an enthusiast it's a pain to have your home park have 16 coasters, but only have 3 of them actually be good. As for the next coaster, I have been dreaming of Minebuster being re-done by RMC forever! I would die if it actually happened! It would be the perfect way to bring Minebuster back to its glory days. But, I have a gut feeling it will be a Wingrider or some sort of B&M.
  9. Canada's Wonderland is now officially Cedar Fair's top park! Hopefully that will translate into some more big new additions to the park!
  10. ^Behemoth has a turn into the station as well. Plus, Behemoth is a longer ride. Also, the crew on DB always seem to do a better job at getting guests out of the station after they get off the ride. I have seen people at CW actually argue with the staff because they were being "rushed" out of the station. As for 2014, I have my money on a B&M wingrider or giga. CF has built one of each in the past two years, and CF does sometimes mass-produce rides for their parks. Leviathan or GateKeeper could very well be the start to another string of similar coasters being built at CF parks.
  11. Canada's Wonderland: Vinnie Zucchini's is an italian buffet located by Vaughan Mills on Rutherford rd. Their pricing is about the same as Marketplace Buffet in CW, but the food is 100 times better. I'm italian and this food is almost as good as my family's cooking It's the best restaurant within walking distance from the front entrance of CW
  12. Leviathan was great last year and I don't think I even mentioned it in my previous post, but it was a pleasant surprise to me when it opened, and then I rode it on opening day this year and the ride was an even better pleasant surprise than last year. All the trims were off and that made the ride clear the last two elements so much faster than last year and it blew me away because I had no idea how much those trims killed the last part of the ride. To whoever commented about Leviathan only having two airtime hills, ummmmmm, doesn't MF only have two airtime hills too. And I305 only has 3, so I don't know what you are complaining about. Also, the first drop and speed hill on Leviathan give insane amounts of airtime, so your argument is very poor.
  13. Was there on opening day and all the updates really make the park look nice and fresh, although I do not like the black paint in the fountains at all. There was also some specials going on during opening day. I got a foot long hot dog for $4 and a funnel cake for $7! I don't know about pricing of food at other parks, but that is an amazing deal at CW. Also walking around the park, I did not see any signs of possible construction for 2014, but it's still early so there is always hope something will pop up.
  14. It's going to be at Canada's Wonderland, but I still can't decide between Behemoth or Leviathan. This is going to be the hardest decision of my life
