  1. Gay Cleveland, Ohio here. Always looking to make roller coaster friends in the area.
  2. Good point. The names on the trains were a surprise, I think. We did not know about them until testing began and Tony posted a picture on the blog, it's been over ten years though I could be wrong. They seem to have invested a lot into these characters and I see them doing more than just adding the names to the trains. But I could be wrong. We'll hopefully know in a few days!
  3. Love this park and was happy to hear they had a successful year. Good for them indeed. Look forward to many successful seasons for them in the future.
  4. Have to love Twitter. Especially being an enthusiast, you can really tailor your Twitter experience to get the best out of news and updates with your favorite parks and the industry.
  5. I agree with you and would like to eventually see more added on the dry side but don't feel it would be best right now. When I visited Darien Lake for the first time in July my disappointment didn't come in the quantity of rides but instead their operations. Poor maintenance and one-train operation on all the coasters brought the experience way down. I understand with management changing hands so much there's probably a lot to do but would like to see them continue on improving the current rides before adding more.
  6. Just received a 2017 promotion in the mail showing off the new water park with a certain wooden structure looking unchanged in the background. I know we yet to know the fate and that it could mean nothing but thought it was interesting. If you actually look closely you can see tiny RMC construction crews working on it
  7. Did you ride it in the front seat? If not, you missed out big time. We rode once in the front and once towards the back and the differences were amazing. Front seat all the way while riding the pine, baby! Yes, was fortunate to ride front. I don't think it's a horrible coaster by any means, more so I went into it with too many expectations. Only rode it the once, so maybe my judgement isn't fair haha. Maybe on a future trip I'll think differently.
  8. Ravine Flyer II is surprisingly smooth given it's layout and elements. I rode it this summer and didn't think it was rough at all other than the part before the steep over banked turn near the end.
  9. Seems like a great turn out for that size water park, would love to know how much it was costing Cedar Fair to keep that thing running. I worked the ride side one of it's last seasons and kept in contact with some of the supervisors who stayed, I'm pretty sure 2009 was their first year of profit.
  10. Very true. They know what they're doing with capital, but being me I would rather see more coasters. Nevertheless, Mystic Timbers looks awesome and am exciting to ride. 2018 2019 and beyond..
  11. Realize answers are suggestive but my vote is for Shivering Timbers (*sorry*) at Michigan's Adventure. Beautiful coaster to look at but riding it was so meh.
