  1. They do use a little bit of pyro just before the car is launched. As a passenger you don't see it, just hear it. A smoke stack on the launch house puffs a big flame signaling launch sequence. It is more for decoration for the people in the waiting area watching those ride. You can actually hear the "blast" from quite a distance from this ride. I'm guessing they are doing that to draw people into the ride. If you make it to Branson, check this one out. pics coming soon...........
  2. Oops! Sorry, I was under the impression from some of the people I visited with at SDC that BOTH were new. I stand corrected. It's been about 7-8 years since we have been down there. It's still a good ride..............................
  3. Road it 4/8/ 2005, worth the ride, 53 mph launch into a negative G hill and down about 11 stories....................... I'm back at work today need to go back and pick up my stomach. It's somewhere between Powder keg and Wildfire........................uuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuugh. later, millertime

  5. Hi All, Just got back from taking my Family to SDC this weekend. Yes, we rode BOTH the new coasters at SDC this weekend. After an hour wait till they finally allowed people into the ride,we were about the fourth group out. The ride doesn't look all that intimmidating because it doesn't look that tall. However, looks are decieving. Powder Keg is built into the side of a hill and it is taller than it looks. All I can say is wow! The launch was phenominial! Right into a negative G hill. The coaster itself is very smooth and was very exciting to ride. My 17 year old son spent most the day riding between this and the other new one Wildfire. Wildfire is like a ride with the Blue Angels and you have no control. Lot's of loops, near verticle drops and other fun stuff I don't know the technical jargon for. If you are in Branson, Mo this summer they are worth the ride. If you are coming in special just for these two coasters I'd probably stay closer to home and save the money. SDC isn't your typical theme park. it has lots of shows, crafts and tons of food. It does not boast a lot of addreline pumping rides.... later, millertime ps will try and submit some photos later
