  1. I haven't been on the Log Ride over the last few months on visits to the park. We finally got on this past weekend only to be disappointed by the new log design. They were filled with water and not draining properly and the new seats made it feel like my knees were just under my chin. My thighs were hugging seat-back in front of me to the point that it was slightly painful. Most logs had seating for 4 but they did have a few logs with only 3 seats allowing for a 'big boy' seat in the back. Does anyone know when and why they were changed? Apologies for the out of focus pic, it was dark and the the log was in motion.
  2. I just registered my group. They were all bummed out last year when I informed them 2017 wasn't happening but we're all excited for our 9th year at WCB this year! We can't wait!
  3. Awesome! My group of friends were put on notice in the Spring when the "WCB is happening" email came out. They were literally asking if I had heard anything about 2 days ago. We're all excited and always grateful for all the work that goes into planning this. Thanks Robb & company!
  4. Anyone know how long the line has been for Life Force Crusher-X? Lol New article from The Onion set at Magic Mountain.
  5. I was wondering the same, I normally attend with a group of 6 who aren't on the boards but love the event and appreciate everything that's done for us. Holding tight for the full announcement!
  6. That's awesome! Congrats on the weight loss!! thanks! I've actually lost a little more since then here I am at a performance art show the other night (that's Rebecca Havermeyer, the opening act of the show, with me). . at -58lbs. Haven't had a chance to see Rebecca but have had the pleasure of seeing Christeene several times!
  7. Yes! I got to see them once in 2006 and hoping to catch them again this year! They're playing a venue about 10 minutes away from my house but I haven't got my tickets yet. Huge Interpol and Joy Division fan as well.
  8. I saw a response the park made to someone on Instagram that said, "No date [for re-open] has been announced yet." They've been spamming that response to every question on Facebook, Twitter, etc. The only thing they're confirming is that it's not being torn down since a lot of the GP are asking "So it's being closed forever?!" when they get the response of "No date to re-open yet." Any suggestions for good eats/drinks in walking distance from the park? I've looked at Yelp and seen a couple decent places for curry, tacos, and sushi - any favorites from locals? I'm willing to uber/train/bus a little bit but honestly I'll have been up since 3-4am so little effort goes a long way when I'm walking out of the park at 8pm. I'm staying at the KBF hotel. Thanks! Porto's Bakery & Cafe is unique to Southern California, really good and fairly cheap. If you go be sure to try one of their potato balls and a cheese roll pastry. It's about a 10 minute walk from the parks front gate.
  9. I visited the park yesterday with a friend and my nephews who are from out of state and in an effort to make the most of the day we arrived 45 minutes to park opening. While waiting in line at the front gates there were a couple of workers doing some quick in-person surveys. We were approached and asked where we were from and on a scale of 1-10 how excited we were to ride the larger roller coasters in the park. The follow up question was on a scale of 1-10 how we felt about riding Gold Rusher and Ninja. We answered and he said thanks and it concluded the survey. It left me feeling like they were putting out feelers on whether to keep them or not. I personally really enjoy both of those rides and would really be sad to see them go. Of course this is total speculation on my part, but it's what I took from that survey. On a side note the cup sizes have shrunk for a "regular drink" yet they are still just under $4.00. I took a picture of the cup next to a toothpick for size comparison. $4.00 'regular' size drink...now with smaller cups!
  10. All signed up! Just a heads up, I was at Knotts this past weekend and they now have new automated lockers the cheapest being $13. The price goes up as the lockers get larger.
  11. New article has been posted: http://www.latimes.com/travel/deals/themeparks/la-trb-six-flags-magic-mountain-lex-luthor-drop-of-doom-09201101,1,7120169.story
  12. $1,000,000,000 Mua-hahaha If I remember last year there were 2 prices. I think somewhere close to $100 for full day at the park with a Q&A and some other stuff, and then they did a half day thing and I believe it was in the $50 range. That got you dinner, raffle, shirt, cup, and VIP pass for the night. I'm anxiously waiting for the official announcement too. I just need to know that I will have enough $ to go.
  13. We went today and they were loading two cars at the same time, you'll be happy to know there were no stops at the block brake, you just slow down a bit but the cars no longer come to a complete stop up there. That made for a more thrilling ride since the brake makes your car rock right before you head into the next drop.
