  1. Sorry, but no public transit currently to SFSL. Current financial woes have really reduced Bi State Service throughout the city, however after August 3 they are restoring the Eureka express service: http://www.metrostlouis.org/MetroBus/Maps/RouteMaps/Map410X080309.pdf http://www.metrostlouis.org/MetroBus/TimeTables/410X080309.pdf Problem is, that it's based on rush hour ridership so you can get there in the evening, but not in the morning, or return in the evening, but not go out there at night. Plus it's quite a hike from the park and ride lot to the park.
  2. Coaster will be down for a while - http://www.smokymountainnews.com/issues/07_09/07_08_09/fr_ghosttown_coaster.html
  3. Cliffhanger closed after one day while they fine tune the ride.
  4. Don't get a Q-Bot until you know you need it. Normally opening day is in March, and usually the 3rd weekend. And even then it normally isn't very crowded. Plus, right now advertising really hasn't started other than for Season Pass sales. Usually opening day is like an all-day ERT session. Sometimes the weather cooperates, other times it's been very ugly (rain or cold). But all the time it's a fun day.
  5. ACE Southeast's Spring Fling is March 28; http://www.themeparkreview.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=48234
  6. While we're still waiting for Cliffhanger to open, perhaps there are bigger things on the horizon.
  7. But they are 4+ hours apart, so if you start at SFOG at opening (10:30 AM last year) and it takes 6 hours in the park and 4 hours to drive you'll arrive in Valdosta around 8:30 PM - not sure if WA will be open at that time of year that late.
  8. I guess no one here believes the official story that "Midnight Rider" was a code name while the Eagles deal was finalized (Greg Allman was on record saying he knew nothing of the ride when the Eagles deal was announced), and that the Eagles, specifically Joe Walsh, picked the song to be used and reviewed the ride elements. Oh, but that's right, management of the park was the only one who was clueless about amusement parks....
  9. FYI; the Chief Creative Officer comes from Busch Sea World (multiple locations) along with other venues, the Operations Director is last from IOA, Construction and Technical Directors have extensive Florida theme park experience, the General Manager is just from a stint at Canada's Wonderland. The higher level managers have all had some form of amusement park or attractions experience and many of the "regular" operating staff are from theme parks on the Eastern seaboard from NJ to FL. Anyone notice the similarity of the rat shadow effect during the Eagles-Life in the Fast Lane coaster and a projection during the beginning of a certain dark ride at IOA?
