  1. Bad news : after the 2018 fire that occurred at "Piraten in Batavia" (soft indoor boat ride), a new fire started today around 4:30 PM, close to the log ride "Tyroler Wildwasserbahn" and the e-powered coaster "Alpenexpress Enzian". These two attractions "intersect" in a cave where the fire could have started. Here are some videos: https://twitter.com/roudoudou90/status/1670816744103981057?s=20 https://twitter.com/InfosFrancaises/status/1670824623913533440?s=20 https://twitter.com/mimibondak/status/1670820599709552641/video/2 According to the last news, nobody seems to be hurt, which is the most important thing.
  2. On twitter, Roland Mack, co-creator of EP, leaves us a message of hope and thanks rescues services, fans communities, visitors...for their support. I don't know if there's also english subtitles but this message is enough important to be shared
  3. I think that the first thing they have to do, after having secured the area, is reopening the raft ride before the summer. Fjord rafting is a major familial ride that needs to be functional for the hot season, as soon as possible. One must also think about a possible "commercial gesture" (opening rides later, offering drinks to hotels ...). About the dutch zone, I would like to see an attraction that clearly misses in EP, according to me : a big dark ride OR a free fall/propulsion tower (flying dutchman theme ?) Mack has alaways used his park as a showcase so I think that they'll build a new dark ride, a submarine one based on their catalogue : https://mack-rides.com/products/dark-rides/submarine-dark-rides/ This submarine theme could lead you to explore the wrecl of pirates ships, which could be new and a very nice easter egg What's your opinion ?
  4. EP Twitter said fire started in a warehouse. Opening to the public tomorrow will be discussed this night. I'm wondering if the investigation will conclude that all attractions must be checked the same way, even if the park will do it without doubt. That's not the first fire in park history: can someone tell us the "procedure" and conclusions in other cases ?
  5. Fire could have started in the Flord restaurant kitchen and has spread in Piraten in Batavia, according to local newschannel (DNA aka Last Alsatian News). It could be a connexion between these 2 buildings.
  6. Wodan ? It's really far. Could you give us the link please ?
  7. Piraten in Batavia was part of the classic rides in EP. This was an "old school" dark boat ride but really cool (1987) This attraction is in the memories of all the people who started their "park career" in EP. There's lot of psscchhhii animatronics and it always give you nostalgia. Hope that no one is hurt.
  8. Don't you think it will be the first interactive drop tower ? You sit down a classic drop tower (level 0) with enough space between the seats or group of seats. You have to answer questions about animals, nature, whatever. If there's too many bad wrong answers, floor opens and you drop into rings of fire ! Haha The last team has the chance to be launched in the air. ++
  9. According to RCDB, it's classified in Extreme rides, like any hypercoaster. Does it really mean something ? Silver star for example is for families.. I'm expecting a combination of dark ride, drop tower, and giant slides
  10. Hi! Very exciting ! What about that kind of thrilling ? Dark ride section in a 2 cars train; then a soft horizontal acceleration. Indoor scene with fire, screens, smoke and everything (Train is separated in wagons; you can't feel it) The ceiling opens Big explosion The 2 wagons are launched through the 100m high tower. You exit in a closed area at the top of the tower. You seat in a classic theater. New scene with effects, fire... Then you have to choose between one of the 8 different giant slides, circling the tower. Not realistic ? Haha Or the first inclined drop tower 100m deep in the ground through rings of fire.
  11. Hi ! An other myth to explore is the anti rollback system. There's lot of people that think the train could roll back if the chain broke. An explanation with 3d views and maybe a real test/simulation could be funny and interesting. Head and armchopper are a good idea too: think of Eurosat at EP. Catwalks at the different middle brakes are really really close. But that wouldn't be a good advertising for parks. ++
  12. INCREDIBLE ! So realistic and the graphics are awesome ! Thanks for sharing that kind of work !
  13. I know for the copyright but I didn't have time to re-record videos from NL (fraps) and I didn't find it very embarassing. That's my first video - making project but you can notice the copyright doesn't appear anymore at about half the video It's pretty slow paced, I agree, that's why I asked one important question in the 1st post: is there any way to get a preview of the speed without finishing the ride ? How do you build your track? How do you bank your turns without knowing the speed at that point? You can estimate it but that's all. In fact I have to do like that (?): your work on the editor, complete the ride, go into simulator, then check every meter of track, write the information on a paper and then modify in the editor again. Is there any way to get a preview in the editor when, for example, creating the first drop? I've got lot of things to learn. Thanks for your feedback !
  14. Hello, I've got NL for about a year but never had time to start something interesting. I made a first "coaster" that just featured a drop, followed by a vertical loop and final breaks in order to get used to the software. It was really horrible so I decided to read advices and to take more time for it. So here's my first attempt on NL => Jungle Chase (wouahh! what an inspiration ) Some things to say about that Eurofighter: -- I know, the lift is pretty unrealistic, but I found it cool and esthetical and decided to keep it -- Some parts may be over or under supported and some supports may be also unrealistic but I try to make my best and didn't past a lot of time to study Gerstlauer structure -- I didn't use Terraformer or any calculator for the moment, that'll be for the next project -- There's no real theme, I just tried to insert pre-built scenery to see how it worked Even with the time I spent on shaping the track, I encountered a lot of problems with the banked elements and the result shows it. There's a lot of pumps I would like to erase. I tried the "locked handles" function to modify 1 part of the ride but it didn't really work or I just must have to use it properly... >> Nolimits Editor is well made but I didn't find 1 function that is very important for me. When I start creating a ride (from station to middle brakes for example), I would like to get a preview of the speed of the train to see if it goes at a correct speed in the hill, loop or whatever...I can get an idea of it, but I don't have the real value. So let me know your opinion and if you have any advice, tip or idea, don't hesitate. Thanks http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-KkncQjnUs8 Jungle Chase.nltrack
