  1. Depending on where you live, it may be cheaper to fly into Richmond. The closest airport to Busch is actually Newport News, but it's a smaller airport. I know JetBlue flies to Richmond, and it's usually pretty cheap.

  3. Obviously depends on where your coming from but I've looked into flying to Newport News out of curiosity in the past cause of how close it was and the prices for tickets were always ridiculously high.

  4. I recommend Richmond as it's an easier drive to Williamsburg than from Norfolk (where you have to deal with either the Hampton Roads or Monitor-Merrimac bridge tunnels and heavier traffic). That being said, they are doing a lot of road construction in I-64 between Richmond and Williamsburg, but Rt. 60 is an option, too.

  5. It's not a bad idea at all to commute to Kings Dominion. It's only a little over an hour and it's all interstate. Historically, that weekend will be one of the busiest for the Williamsburg area all year but who knows how COVID will effect that. Personally, I would try to go through RIC. They're both technically about an hour away from Williamsburg but tunnel traffic can get miserable making RIC the much easier commute.

  7. If I can't drive my own car through a big, bright, orange plastic loop at 80 MPH then no sale.

  9. The fact they they continued to do it and are continuing to do it. Businesses don't continue unprofitable operations. Then again, it is SEAS, so I guess anything is possible LOL.

  10. Not to derail this thread any further, but a huge part of the problem is there not anything actually tough about them. They exist, and some businesses (like Knotts when they were open for all their food festivals) do great at enforcement, many others don’t. The Southern California region on its own has a population that is larger than all but the state of Texas. The odds of being able to contain a virus in the region are zero given that millions of those people work “essential” jobs and there are probably another million who still believe it’s a hoax. Masks help and we respect all park rules here. End of story. That being said, it is absolutely fair to criticize how our Governor has put all businesses at a huge disadvantage by rewriting the guidelines a few times with no prior input. Changing from tiers, to colors, and now to a regional system without notice makes it almost impossible for any park to invest in trying to create new experiences like Knotts had done with the “taste” events.

  11. I'm waiting for someone to say they don't have a hotel, because Cedar Fair doesn't want Kings Island to compete with Cedar Fair.

  12. Guests of the new campground should have a great view of the rotting carcass of The Beach right across the freeway. Wonder if anything's ever going to happen with the big plot of land where the KI Resort and Conference Center used to be?

  13. I dunno, Zach. Nothing screams luxury to me more than being located directly behind the McDonald's and next to an industrial park off of I-71. Ooh, totally dripping in luxury!
