  1. Hey everyone, Don’t say we didn’t squeeze it in.

  2. We got lazy with the back porch tho. . only one long string of lights.

  3. I don't know the answer to your question (I don't think it will), but had to call out the "new standard" comment. It's kinda hard to have a "new standard" when only two of a particular thing exist, and the one with the moving loading platform was actually the first one to open (by about a month). Just sayin'.

  4. ^ Who cares about the kids when they could get another Schwarzkopf? https://coasternation.com/indiana-beach-to-get-new-coaster-in-2022-potentially-adding-kennywoods-former-laser-loop/?fbclid=IwAR2GBagx4v_dI8YOQPobelrO9nTqbnj0Zq8nXwW4iNWl0Pc-lYUEjNVDiAY So people are drawing the conclusion that the possible new coaster in 2022 could be the old Kennywood Laser Loop (Cascabel). That would literally be the most incredible thing, but I'll believe it when I see it.

  5. I honestly wouldn't be surprised if Six Flags did that considering their relationship with S&S and I imagine this ride won't break the bank. Now that you mention it, this would be a perfect fit at Six Flags New England considering they don't have a launch coaster and are pressed for space.

  6. Very cool find, thanks for sharing! When the ride did open to riders in 2017, it had the articulating cars as seen in my photo.

  7. Update, I found a picture and was right, that was a modification. I'm not sure what I'm allowed to post video wise but if you look up testing videos on youtube from 2016 or so you'll find some videos of the original train, and that thing looks like a king size mattress or something without the last row articulating lol.

  8. No, it has nothing to do with Great Wolf. If you look at the map I posted above, they're clearing space out on the other side of Kings Mills Road back behind the McDonalds and industrial park. Great Wolf Lodge is not going anywhere.

  9. OzIris was my favorite invert when I rode it last year. I wasn't expecting to get the half dozen airtime moments I got in the back row and the inversions were a good mix of forceful and floaty ones. It seems like the ride has started running better when I look at recent reviews versus older ones. Monster looks fantastic, especially since it's crammed into such a tight space at Grona Lund.

  10. In regards to the Oziris thing, when we rode Oziris we were expecting it to be a really weak invert after the reviews on here but it was actually really good so maybe it’s running better in general or we just caught it on a good day. The first drop is excellent, nothing else was super forceful but it wasn’t weak either. The theming elements and tunnel bumped it up a bit for me. It’s not a top-tier invert but for me it’s easily better than something like Talon, Great Bear, Ice Dragon post-dueling or Silver Bullet. I’d call it average. I have no clue how this thing will ride but every single B&M invert is good so no matter what, it’s a win.

  11. Interesting how Cedar Point has so many on site hotels to encourage guests to extend their vacations, and yet Kings Island closed their own hotel years ago. Why won't they build another one? Knotts has a hotel, and even Carowinds built a new one a few years back. It just makes no sense why they would not want to capitalize on their guests. These cabins are a nice start, but they really need a full hotel with on site restaurants.

  12. Looking at news reports that come up from Google searches of "Six Flags Over Georgia Opening Day" and 2019 and 2018, it seems like they typically open in March. Next year is anyone's guess with COVID nonsense.

  13. Thank you for the update! After living in Utah for almost 4 years now, I told myself I would make the trek to Silverwood if they ever got an RMC. It looks like Summer 2021 is the year! I've ridden both other RMC Raptors, and they are amazing coasters. The fact that this one will have even longer trains is crazy to me, because the back row on RB/WW shouldn't even be legal.

  14. People didn't ever think Six Flags Saint Louis would be open in December.

  15. Hey Everybody! I have been following the permitting and construction process for Stunt Pilot pretty regularly since it was announced (First new thrill coaster in 12 years to home park + coaster nerd = you know what!). Anyway I noticed today that the park posted new site plans for the coaster, and I found two things to be interesting. First, they officially call the station a "building". In previous plans, they just have it as a metal structure with screen. With this new designation (thank heaven!) I am now really hopeful for a decent station. I think a Quonset hut style hanger thing would be cool, but that's just me. Secondly, they show another "Future Building" near where the rides entrance is going to be. Its difficult to tell what it is, and there's no permits out there for it from what I can tell, but it looks like a snack stand/gift shop. I find this interesting because there is another retail building around the corner, but I could see why they would want a more dedicated store for Stunt Pilot. Kind of curious now what it would look like though. Plans are at the bottom, sorry I'm still learning the ins and outs of Robb's fancy dancy new forums! (That's a complement Robb, really appreciate your hard work with this site!) The also posted some construction updates, and promised to do more over the winter so that should keep us all entertained! Here are the latest ones! (RMC put them on their socials as well) P.S. Sorry for the size! Is there a way to make them smaller? I inserted them from a URL.

  16. It's back!!! Great report, per usual, Andy. Lech Coaster truly is fantastic. It has everything I look for in a coaster. Of course I'd prefer no vests at all, but these are probably the best vest restraints on the market. Much thinner and more flexible than B&M's or even the one's Vekoma still seems to be using on their boomerang upgrades. Also, if you'd joined me for Särkänniemi, you'd know this isn't the first station fly-though inversion. Legendia was a highlight of the trip for me. I loved it's small, local, city-park vibe. While I was definitely sad to miss out on many of the unique flats I had been looking forward to, the ones they did have available (especially the HUSS Rainbow ) were really fun. I think they're definitely headed in right direction with their recent investments and with a couple more modern coasters, Legendia will feel like a complete park that's worth traveling for.

  17. ("only I didn't say fudge") Haven't been in this thread for a month.... and now I wish I had just let that continue and just skipped over the last few weeks. Can't wait to see the Darien Lake thread debate about THE Predator becoming a steel, hybrid, ibox, Titan, totally tubular, sensually seductive .... whatever you want to call it..... coaster. But that will be for another day. Just someone please private message me when that starts so I can stay far away. Anyways, anything to keep Lightning Rod more reliable, as others have said, is the most important. How it is classified... well, I'll just call it an RMC and call it a day. It doesn't matter.

  18. Seriously. It seems like every new apartment development the last 5-10 years are "luxury" apartments. I do think it is a good addition to the area though. I would be tempted to stay in one of those cabins with friends if they offered early entry like CP does.

  19. Take a look at the "beauty marks" on the parks maintiance vehicles and that will show you why a drive through event is a bad idea

  20. I don't think Cedar Point could pull this off even if they did it well but that event had no chance to succeed anyway because it was the worst thing ever.

  21. The fact that all of their lights trip when it rains also doesn't help the POVs from the first night. They should have honestly cancelled it (or... you know... maybe they should fix that). I still wouldn't go but the second night does look better since the Christmas lights were actually on. At least Green Lantern is closed so that's one plus over just going on the weekends.

  22. Just a heads up, to anybody local who was thinking about getting tix for the PNE's Winter Nights Drive-Thru... We got our ticket for Friday, Dec.11th (5:30-6pm entry), so I will post a TR that weekend. Ho ho ho. Big EDIT: We found out today (Wed/9th), our car "in the shop" may not be ready by Friday. So, we're accepting the fact that we might not be able to do the Drive-Thru then. Such is life with cars. Thankfully, it didn't cost a bundle for the ticket per car ($42.50 Cdn).
