Hey everybody so I have this idea for so many years but I have never showed it to the public. So basically I made 3D models of giant roller coasters portrayed as robots like Transformers,Voltron and Mecha franchises. So these two roller coaster robots our based off of their real life counterparts as you notice the images. And I know this idea seems very weird but I'm just using my imagination. So I decided to to use the hills from the roller coasters and use them as heads instead. So for example if I see a roller coaster that has a loop inversion I would use that as a head as well!! The pink and yellow roller coaster It's called X or now known as X2 at six flags magic mountain in Valencia California It's considered the world's first 4th dimension roller coaster made by Arrow Dynamics. The red blue and yellow roller coaster is called Superman:Escape from Krypton located in the same park as well manufactured by intamin of Switzerland. It would be faster and a better use of your time to leave the park, drive to the airport, fly to Orlando, Uber to Seaworld and ride Mako than to wait 4 hours for Candymonium... (Or you could just ride Skyrush)

So we finally got to Kings Island. Everytime we planned on going in the past something would come up that would prevent us from going. We went Saturday the 24th. Thank goddess for fast lane! It was also our first experience with funpix. We have avoided parks this summer that required masks but with how chilly it was the mask was actually nice to keep the cold air off my face. We started the day off with Banshee. I have never met a B&M invert that I did not love..... Until this ride. The vest got tighter and tighter throughout the ride. I have been on all 5 coasters in America with the vest and they are not for me. It also had a vibration that I am not used to on inverts. I could see how the layout would be very good otherwise sadly. Next was the Bat. This was a very fun coaster. Good swinging. Way better then Iron Dragon which is my only other suspended coaster. Invertigo and Adventure express opened late so headed over to the Racer. We did the blue and red side. I found it to be a pretty smooth ride given its age. Decent pops of air! Orion was next. My first ride was underwhelming. My later ride which was a fastlane walk on was better. It had warmed up and felt fast. Smoothest coaster in the park. Someone else said it best that it is a gentle giant. First drop is steeper than I anticipated. First drop and speed hill were best parts of the ride Backlot stunt coaster was the surprise hit of the day. That death delix out of the launch was great. This would be a perfect coaster for spinning cars Flight of fear was fun. Launch was good. First cobra roll and ending corkscrew were great. Everything in the middle didn't do much. Rougher than other premier coasters that I have rode. But Banshee and Diamondback were also rougher than their counterparts so theme of the park lol Beast is a legend among gp and enthusiasts. A ride so big in lore, The world's longest wooden coaster. Broke every record out when it opened............Was not for me. Grouperut me on a rear wheel seat and I felt every bump and pothole. Between the trims, and rough ride and lack of any airtime this was a one and done for me. I can see how it could be fun with some drinks and a night ride but a midday sunny ride did not live up to the hype Mystic TImbers was my most anticipated ride in the park and it did not disappoint. Had a bunch of quick transitions and quick pops of airtime. I am torn between this and Orion as the best ride in the park. I am leaning towards Mystic though! Diamondback was fun. Grouper actually gave us back seat. Had a noticeable rattle but did not take away from the ride. Had that nice classic floater air these are known for. Third best ride in the park after Mystic and Orion. The hammerhead turn around felt more forceful then others I have ridden Adventure Express was a neat mind train. Liked the theming on the final chain lift Invertigo was fun. I used my SLC trick, I hold my head all the way forward out of the restraint to avoid any head banging. I am sure I look stupid but makes them good rides. I would say most forceful ride in the park Skyline chilli lived up to the hype. We had a 3 sample tasting card in our group. We tried pizza and cupcakes with the pizza being the better selection We walked away with way too much merch. Great Merchandise in this park. Sorry I had my phone in a locker most of the day so not a lot of pictures Very very very nice park. Easily in my top 3 Cedar Fair parks. I hope to return soon -- GRSUPERCITY

On one hand, it'd be great to see this park use their infinite amount of land. On the other hand, that would make me want to go back there.

Most importantly, we'd have Moose on the Loose in December!

Wow, a trip report about Great Adventure in October and the main takeaways are long lines, pot smoke, and Toro running slow in the cold. I, for one, am completely shocked.

Was down in MD visiting friends this weekend and after making a quick stop at American Dream on Friday on the ride down (threw a couple pictures on FB), I started the ride back with a stop at American Nightmare...err...SFA! After a gorgeous day yesterday, today was dreadful with temps in the 40s and showers. I expected to see SFA post that they would be closed for the day but around 6 I decided to head over, parked nice and close, and headed in with a heavy mist falling. This park gets sh*t on a lot, and for good reason, but on a gloomy night with a small crowd and walk on rides everywhere, it was a good time. Grabbed dinner on the meal pass on the way in and then made my way back to Mind Eraser...LOL just kidding, screw that. Started with a nice front row ride on Roar. This is like the Hershey Wildcat to me...everyone on here bitches about how rough it is but it's a fun and decently forceful woodie and not that rough at all. Sure, an RMC makeover would be awesome for the park, but Roar is a nice ride as it is. Firebird is one of the two new to me coasters in the park and was my next stop, but was down temporarily so I made my way to the drop tower. Not a very tall one, but a nice forceful drop. Can't just walk by a walk on drop tower and not hop on. Next up was the biggest gem at SFA, Wild One. How Six Flags manages to keep a 103 year old wooden coaster so smooth is one of the world's great mysteries. Lots of good airtime all over the layout and great laterals in the helix of death, all while maintaining a mainly perfectly smooth ride. The other new to me credit, Rajun Cajun, was closed so kept heading back to Jokers Jynx. Another great ride, very whippy but smooth in the transitions. Headed back further (lol this park has the worst layout in the world) to Superman which was an absolute blast. For some reason they were loading every row which felt weird after not seeing that at all this year. Rode in back and it was absolutely flying through the darkness behind the park. Not the most inspiring layout ever made but still good Intamin fun and cool to see the old trains (coming from an SFNE homer). The world's most ridiculously placed coaster was next, Batwing! The good thing is the dark foggy night masked the fact that the ride is plopped way out in a field. I want to love the ride, it has a much better layout than the Supermans and is very intense. But good lord those trains suck. They shuffle like typical Vekoma trains and the vests don't really hold you in so the buckle point pretty much does the Heimlich on you through the flying sections. A Batwing layout with B&M trains would be an awesome ride. Started making my way back to the front, intending on getting my Firebird credit and heading out. Couldn't resist a 2nd ride on Wild One, but then made my way over. After making my way through the queue that is about 4000 feet too long, I walked right up to the front. Backstory: I don't like Rougarou. I'm one of the rare people that actually preferred Mantis. But most people seem to approve of that makeover. On the other hand, I've seen people who like Rougarou not like this one at all. Anyway, yeah...this thing is a pile of sh*t. Just bashes your head around from beginning to end. I came off with the worst headache a roller coaster I've ever gotten from a coaster. Hopefully the asteroid coming for the earth around Election Day lands directly on this thing. If I didn't have a horrible headache I would've ridden Mind Eraser to remind myself what a coaster that only bashes your head into nice soft padded restraints feels like. But with a long ride home I decided I was hurting enough and called it a night. A sour ending, but overall I actually had a really great time at SFA. I know people drive right past this place all the time to head for much better places, but honestly it's a great place to break up a ride to BGW for a couple hours and really has a few decent coasters in its lineup.

It's a weird thing to break down because Disney is so wildly inconsistent with their theme park show quality. Some are incredible, some are good, and some downright suck, and what's funnier is that budget doesn't seem to come into effect for any of it. I honestly think they just throw everything at a wall and rather than seeing what sticks they just blindly grab at whatever is leftover and implement that. Now, I worked as Production Manager and Tech Director for a 500-seat professional theatre outside Philly a few years ago and we operated on very tight budgets as we were non-profit. We still put on Beauty & The Beast, Newsies, and other large-scale shows to rave reviews. Most of the time my set budget was $5K, sometimes it was only $2K, but I never had more than $5,500 to play with for the set. Costumes, lighting, and audio all had less budgeted per show, so you can imagine the kind of money we were working with. I designed a three-story set for Newsies, a 40-foot by 20-foot rolling house (with a second floor!) for A Christmas Story, a multi-level MC Escher-inspired set for Next To Normal, etc, all on less than $5,000. The $5,500 came when we said screw it and rented the castle set for Beauty & The Beast, haha. My point is people can make excellent, fun, compelling entertainment for very little money. Disney, on the other hand, has money to burn and they still manage to be all over the place in terms of quality. The Lion King show at Animal Kingdom was fun because it was trying to be fun. The Little Mermaid I can't give an honest take on because I've not seen it since I was maybe 12 years old back in the mid-90s. Beauty & The Beast's show next to Tower of Terror was middle of the road but still definitely on par for a theme park revue. Frozen failed, IMO, because it tried to tell the exact story from the movie in 2/3's of the time (60 vs 90 minutes) rather than truncate it to a manageable narrative. Aladdin did it wonderfully. They still had all of the hits, all of the humor, but it was 45 minutes and the audience was satisfied. Frozen is 60 minutes long and sucks because it's too confused for its own good.

We decided to take a quick drive (6 hours) from Vegas up to Lagoon, just north of Salt Lake City this past weekend. We had to get a haunt in this year. Even though the park was busy and mask rules are only enforced in queue and in mazes, I never felt uncomfortable as people pretty much kept their distance. Overall we had a really enjoyable visit to Lagoon. This park is very well ran, operations are smooth and queues keep moving constantly. They were loading all rows on all rides, hand sanitizer before and after each ride and before and after all haunted mazes. We have arrived for Frightmares! Happy to experience a theme park haunt this weird year! Employees carrying “Please Social Distance” signs were all over the park and enforcing mask wearing and distancing in the queues I like the skyline of this park! Roller Coaster celebrates 99 years this year! New hotness being built on the northeast corner of the park! I forgot how good Cannibal is! Super fun and smooth! I don’t normally like Ferris wheels, but this one is fun, you can spin your gondola like a tea cup! Cannibal’s station and a cameo of a couple Big Ass Fans! I’m really looking forward to this new coaster! Samurai was running, it runs a pretty weak cycle but it’s still fun! I approve of any park with a sky ride! Nice way to get across the park and get off your feet for a few minutes You can see social distance markers for the shows later in the evening The Wave Swinger is missing it’s top from the storm damage a few weeks ago Colossus, what a great ride!! The rides here are operated well and efficiently. All lines kept moving. Love the Flyers here Cannibal’s first drop is fantastic! All rows were being loaded on all rides Two trains, one photo This was the only part of the park that felt congested to me This ride was missing it’s roof from the storm damage too The Biergarten was amazing, if you visit you must have a meal here! Joey highly recommended getting a Beaver Tail and he was right! They were delicious! Oreo Cheesecake Hey! This Shake Shack still has Peanut Butter! Roller Coaster’s new trains and retracking made this such a smooth and fun ride!!! Denied a ride on Jet Star 2 For $20 you can skip the line for 7 of the mazes, completely worth it as they have to socially distance groups in the mazes Super busy for the mazes, general lines were over an hour, but with Time Warp, we didn’t wait over 15 minutes I felt that they did a great job with their haunt, the scare actors wearing masks made it harder to see them, so some of the scares were really really good We ended the night with a couple of walk on rides on Colossus Thanks Lagoon for a great visit!
