Yeah, I can't think of a place I wouldn't really go back to. I mean, even some of the worst parks I've been to I would give a second chance for one reason or another.5 points

I don't think there is any park that I will refuse to visit again. Some parks are very far down my priority list to visit again until something major and significant comes along (such as Six Flags America), but that doesn't mean I would *refuse* a visit if presented the opportunity. Parks are constantly changing and evolving and always deserve another chance in my opinion.4 points

SeaWorld San Antonio has announced Tidal Surge, the largest installation of an S&S Screamin' Swing! SeaWorld San Antonio Welcomes World's Tallest and Fastest Screaming Swing https://www.prnewswire.com/news-releases/seaworld-san-antonio-welcomes-worlds-tallest-and-fastest-screaming-swing-301360640.html SeaWorld San Antonio is proud to announce the all-new, world record breaking, high-thrill attraction – Tidal Surge. Opening in Spring 2022, Tidal Surge will be the World's Tallest and Fastest Screaming Swing and will take riders on a journey above the clouds to feel the sensation of flying high above the park. Tidal Surge will seat 40 riders and feature two pendulum-like arms that will soar progressively higher to a staggering height of 135 feet at its peak. The dueling arms will alternate sides and sway back-and-forth at 68 mph, creating multiple airtime moments that levitate guests out of their seats with each heart stopping swing. Riders' legs will dangle and hang as they soar over the waterski lake and take in the beautiful views of the park, while reaching multiple negative G moments before plunging back towards the earth. The colossal Tidal Surge will mark a major addition to SeaWorld San Antonio's thrill ride portfolio, which currently includes four thrilling rollercoasters, a high swing, two animal rescue adventure experiences and a fun-filled family coaster perfect for families with younger children. With this new addition, SeaWorld San Antonio will feature even more adrenaline-pumping experiences, spanning a range of ages and thrills.3 points

The reason that nobody mentioned Elitch Gardens is because they all have to go back to ride the other 3-4 coasters that were closed when they went there the first time.2 points

Although I'm looking forward to VelociCoaster, Universal has no right to be snarky about anything after opening so many lame screen-based rides over the last few years. I'm glad the the SeaWorld parks are finally in a position to start opening their new stuff. Now if we could just get Pantheon open in Virginia . . .2 points

Lots of Anticipated 2021 signs to change! Seriously though, this is great news and I'm happy for them! Also, putting it out there, I tweeted about both rides this weekend and then 16 hours later we get an announcement so...2 points

Basically any park could theoretically add something cool enough that it would get me to go there but barring something amazing being a built, a few come to mind. The first park that comes to mind is probably not what you were expecting, it’s Holiday World. The fact that people voluntarily drive like 15 hours every year to go to Holiwood Nights actually blows my mind. If I had ERT on those wood coasters for hours I seriously don’t even know what I’d do all night. I wouldn’t get a beer because they don’t sell that. I wouldn’t buy a Christmas ornament because why would a park named Holiday World in a town named Santa Claus with an entire Christmas “themed” (lol) section sell those (maybe that’s changed lol). I guess I’d ride the okay log flume and Thunderbird for hours. I don’t know... The park is ugly, Voyage is fine, Legend sucks and Raven is actually one of the worst wood coasters that I’ve ridden (at least that’s how everything rode a few years ago). I hate that place. I used to be convinced that people just talked it up to justify the fact that they drove to the middle of a cornfield to ride a bunch of bad wood coasters in an ugly park but they go back every year so I guess I’m the crazy one. Also, before someone shows up and says that Raven is running way better now and that I really need to ride Voyage on the one night out of the entire year that it runs the way that you think it should be running when I ride it: ... no, I don’t care. I’m not driving 137 hours to the middle of nowhere to go to that place ever again. Also, if I’m in the area and finally get back to Kentucky Kingdom I’m still not going. I’ll stay at Kentucky Kingdom because I like that park or go to Kings Island or go cow tipping or whatever the hell they do near Holiday World that’s not Holiday World. Aside from that’s, let’s talk about the big one... La Ronde. Yes, La Ronde is the worst park I’ve ever been to but if they built basically anything noteworthy I’d probably go for two reasons: 1) It’s in Montreal. I love Montreal. La Ronde got us to Montreal but we’ve since been back many times. I’ve lost count of how many times I’ve driven straight over the Jacques Cartier Bridge literally within 100 feet of that dump and not gone but gone into the city for awesome food, drinks, sightseeing and whatever else. What a great place. I’ll take any excuse to go there. It’s also a lot closer than Holiday World. 2) It’s Six Flags and I get 4 line skips. I’m sure the process of picking them up will be maddening and overly complicated because it’s La Ronde but realistically I should be able to get in and out of that place in like 2 hours, ride the hypothetical new ride that’s going to get me there, ride the only other good coaster and then probably ride that Dragon thing like twice with my other line skips because it’s actually so stupid it’s fun. Then I could get the hell out of there. I hate that place but I pass it enough that I mean... whatever, fine. PS: Viper is not going to be that hypothetical ride. It’s the worst ride in the world so that ride and that park deserve eachother. Honorary mentions: Conneaut Lake but that won’t be a problem for long. I won’t quite say Lake Compounce because they’re only an hour from the house but if it’s even possible to put a park one hour from the house on this list, they’re trying.2 points

One of the weird things about this hobby is how very difficult it is to get the same experience as someone else. If we were all super-into movies, for example, even if maybe I saw it in a better theater than you did, we still basically saw the same movie. Of course we might have different reactions to it, but we wouldn't have to figure out which day the other person saw it on, what year, where they started, where they ate, what row they sat in, which employees they encountered, how the projector was running that day, their weight, height, and age, and a million other variables. We could just say, "Oh, you like different movies than I do." (And then we could have a knife fight about it.) But I've had vastly different enjoyment levels myself at the same park on different visits, and I'm sure most of you all have too. So how do you know the next one won't be better? Of course, I'm not advocating repeated visits to a park you hate. But I've personally never been to a park that was so bad that it couldn't possibly improve.2 points

Yes, everything is open in Gotham City except Mindbender. As I mentioned in the post above, there's a decent chance Mindbender may reopen this week. Fingers crossed!1 point

The idea that parks just add those to make more money sure is annoying but the truth is that parks that don't may be quite frustrating. If I had a park near home which I could go to anytime, I probably wouldn't buy those passes often. But when you invest a lot of money (and time/effort) to go to a park which you might not visit anytime soon, it does feel good to have a way of getting on rides more quickly (even if you have to pay more) I can tell you that I have made trips to parks which didn't have any pass and in many cases I'd spend the entire day running around and stressing. And sometimes I really was not able to get on everything that I wanted (even just once) and that is very frustrating when you travelled a lot for that single place.1 point

Screaming Swings are among my favorite flat rides, so I think this is a great addition to the park, especially since they got a bigger model with higher capacity!1 point

Can you tweet about how great it would be to have some previews during Halloscreams since this is RIGHT there in the middle of the section of the park that will be open and since Mako and the Rapids are the only rides operating lol.1 point

This is a bit of a long winded post for me compared to my normal posts so apologies in advance for my wall of text lol... I definitely come from a different viewpoint on all of this as being a local who has lived here my whole life because I have season tickets for multiple sports teams and while my seats are really good they are reasonably priced and I have the benefit of being able to sell games I can't go to or get a credit for a certain amount of games I can't make as a perk of being a season ticket holder. A newer trend that more and more stadiums and arenas have been adopting is fan friendly concession stand prices. Atlanta started it and have found that more people are coming inside earlier, spending more because they aren't feeling like they are being ripped off. Atlanta actually made more revenue on concessions than ever before because of lowered prices and found that merchandise sales were more than ever before because people were spending more on merch because they spent less on food and drinks. It's one of the biggest complaints I have that more places don't adopt this strategy, including theme parks. Some of them charging 5 bucks for a bottle of water is absolutely disgusting. https://sports.yahoo.com/cheap-beer-good-press-falcons-fan-friendly-pricing-win-win-191626117.html?guccounter=1&guce_referrer=aHR0cHM6Ly93d3cuZ29vZ2xlLmNvbS8&guce_referrer_sig=AQAAALjD1fkuCtSJUjt6FuY1OpLsAPtAn3MmGD3BZrQldVQ0g8SZ8ecojzMmAuIms1gy-yIW4e6kjgWZGTe_a66kmtdv7egnH3fFSdP8TwcT5b_RU7ntiNHYSxZUIsJWkIMLYENBXOUAioCu3ibEG-oAal1hT9QGv72LZNEzEbMQZ_jW I compare this to everyone here knowing the tricks of theme parks and the best ways to go about them but I never pay to park in this area because I drive everywhere and avoid public transportation like the plague and when we go to Broadway shows there are multiple cheaper options if you don't mind where you are sitting. $150 is on the expensive side for Broadway tickets. That being said I know we have some benefits that people visiting don't always have, like doing the online lotteries for the more popular shows and if we actually win then we would go but if you are seeing a show that isn't a super hot ticket like the new Hugh Jackman show or Hamilton etc a lot of shows do have cheaper options that can range from $25 to $70 bucks if you don't mind sitting at the top of a theatre or in the mezzanine somewhere but a lot of these places are so small that the last row seats and sitting somewhere upstairs are actually a really great view. Personally aisle seats are a bigger deal to me than anything else because the leg room in so many of these theatres is absolutely awful. There's also the TKTS booth that a lot of people do take advantage of that is a great way to get expensive seats for less. Plays are also normally way cheaper than musicals because more people would rather see a musical than a play. The blowback on this new Genie service is definitely way more than normal, the two YouTube videos about the Genie service has 1.4k likes to 14k dislikes and 856 likes to 9k dislikes. I've never seen anything Disney get ratioed that badly. I'm waiting for Disney to come out with the full prices for everything before I really make a decision on this but I can emphasize with the average family of 4 who is in the middle class or lower that is upset about this. People who already had trips booked and had been saving up and budgeting for this are now dealing with the unknown of this system, their possible once in a lifetime visit for a 7 or 10 day visit would be $420 or $600 more if they bought this for every day for their stay plus we don't know the prices of the tier 1 rides that would be purchased separately and apparently there will be surge pricing as well. Obviously a lot of rides can be done via standby and saving the money instead but I can definitely understand people's frustration about all these unknowns. I get the frustration of people who don't want to be on their phones all day using the app or waking up at 7am while on vacation to book rides on the app. I feel like comparing all of this to what other parks are doing is a tough situation because Universal express is included with the deluxe hotels and while it doesn't include the brand new rides the rest are almost always walk ons from my experience. With the unlimited express you can just keep riding the rides over and over and not have to worry about selecting fast passes on your phone so your day is less structured and planned out. For six flags all of us here are the in the minority since the vast majority of people don't travel to different six flags and just visit their local ones. Our season passes are like $60 for the year so missed rides are a wash because you can always just come back. Cedar Fair is in a similar boat minus Cedar Point. We love the Disney parks, if we were closer in driving distance we would definitely go way more often. We want to come down for the 50th anniversary celebration but definitely are going to wait and see how this all plays out and read some trip reports first before making our plans. My opinion on all this is still to be determined but I can definitely see both sides of the likes and dislikes about this new setup. It's certainly going to be interesting to see how it all plays out.1 point

But 90 minutes for Corkscrew means less people in other line. So I gracefully thank such people. When we were in Heide Park, their corkscrew and their SLC had each 30 minutes. I laughed very hard after my 20 minute wait for the Colossus front row.1 point

90 minutes for Corkscrew is a crime against humanity. The rest of that seems rather reasonable. Hope all the first timers got that Fast Lane+!1 point

La Ronde but I blame @coasterbill because his trip reports and all his talk about the place made me curious lol I thought there's no way it could really be thatttt bad and we already had six flags season passes so it wasn't costing us anything so we figured why not go see for ourselves. I have no problems admitting when I'm wrong. Bill was 100% correct lol1 point

Nick U/Mall of America in Jersey. Valleyfair (I love you Renegade) doesn't have much to offer. Holiday World is another one that could fit. There's the coasters, a meh log flume, and a teeny S&S tower. If they coasters aren't in great shape you're going to have a very quick visit.1 point

officially - since the "NU52" relaunch 10 years ago (2011) - they changed the character's name to "Shazam" so while it's true for Decades, "Captain Marvel" appeared in the DC comics under the comic titled "Shazam" (due to Marvel Comics trademarking "Captain Marvel" back in the 1960's, while the Fawcett character - whom DC acquired to publish - was dormant) - every appearance since 2011 he's been "Shazam"1 point

Captain Marvel is also a DC character, he's just usually called Shazam.1 point

Made a last minute decision to stop at fair yesterday after having not been to any park in over a month. Things are a little finnicky with getting to either the fair or the park, but you can tell they're trying hard to make getting to Kentucky Kingdom more streamlined without having to deal with fair crowds and parking. To get to Kentucky Kingdom, you HAVE to use Gate 2 off of Crittenden Drive (road along Storm Chaser). It's about the only time you'll really deal with cars trying to get to the fair. Once inside, the 4-lane road is split with two right lanes leading to specific parking lots for KY Kingdom, and the left 2-lanes leading to the rest of the Expo Center with parking for the fair. There was a bit of confusion on my part, because I (trying to park for the fair) managed to park in what I believe was 100% dedicated as KK employee lot (lot L). I got all the way into the park before looking at a map on my phone and realized it wasn't listed as parking for either the park OR the fair. I left and relocated out of fear I'd get towed... Getting to KY Kingdom: there's a path leading from KK's dedicated parking lots, and there's a fence erected keeping fair attendees and park visitors physically separated, unless you can show proof of fair admission to a fair personnel at an opening between the park entrance and the Expo center. When I left KK less than an hour prior to park closing, this gap between the Fair and the park had closed. It took groups of people split off from one-another to signal to fair security to reopen the gap and let them and myself thru, again with proof of Fair admission. If you hope to do both attractions, I DO NOT recommend parking in Kentucky Kingdom's lot since you might have difficulty accessing their parking lots afterwards. I parked in lot C (Fair parking) and walked thru Thrillville and arrived at KK at 4pm. The park was very easy-going compared to the last few times I've gone. Very light crowd making for decently short waits for almost anything and really easy distancing between folks. There were a few notable rides that weren't operating when I arrived, but I don't know if it was because they closed early, required shifting around staff, or had been closed all day. T3, Eye of the Storm, 5D Cinema, and Big Wheel were the ones I saw closed. And a side note, I got a hold of a cinnamon bread loaf, but the breads I saw didn't quite look like the soft cinnamon bread I first saw a month ago. It also mostly tasted like regular bread with a small hint of cinnamon sugar flavor. Could've been an odd batch, or could be a different recipe used. Wasn't quite sure, but wasn't quite on par with what I was expecting. Still, if anyone was looking for quick ways to get their credits, I'd certainly recommend coming to the park during the fair as it's pretty easy to get around the park plus water park at this time. I left the park roughly 30 minutes prior to closing and managed to get back to the fair side. This year, the fair followed thru with getting Kissel Entertainment for their ride supplier instead of North American Midway Entertainment, which they were hoping to do last year before the fair had to be closed to the public. I got to see these folks earlier this year in June (as well as the past few years) at the Bluegrass fair in Lexington, and the lineup they had at the state fair was just about the same. It's a much better lineup than recent years with NAME, and I'm sooo happy they managed to get them to showcase at the state fair! A pinfari coaster, wacky worm, and dragon wagon for credits. Plus a KMG speed, KMG Inversion, small ARM drop tower, Larson Fireball, classic rock-o-plane, a Chance swinging ship, a Matterhorn, and more thrill rides. If you're looking to maybe go but avoid big and tight crowds, I'd recommend going much earlier in the day and leaving before 5 or 6pm when there's far less people on the midway and significantly shorter waits. I've had no hassle wearing a mask everywhere I went, but keep in mind you might be elbow-to-elbow on occasion. Regardless, all in all was a fun night, and it was nice to get back to a park after a while without much personal trips! I shot a bunch of clips on my camera to hopefully finish the usual KY State Fair and KK video I try to do each year (when I can).1 point

OMG! YES!!! We're paying sooooo much money for our return to broadway NYC trip this fall. And should we mention sporting events? And parking fees for those?!?! What happened to all of us supporting paying all of these workers more money too? WDW is raising their pay rates and you didn't think that wouldn't be passed on to us right?1 point

I work a ton so my time as I've gotten older is limited with my companies, so I normally buy them unless the park is dead. I'd rather have a good day and enjoy myself than missing out on the rides I went to ride. Even if I'm not re riding a bunch, the extra time saved gives us time to explore areas we otherwise wouldn't of appreciated or known about. Even though I control my own schedule, weekends are naturally more open so we're at parks on the busier days, fast lane, fast passes, VIP tours, etc give us the ability to use our time wisely at parks.1 point

Imagine being there for 7 hours with a skip the line pass. How would you fill 7 hours? You would have to ride Mako like 25 times.1 point

Heavens yes. What is funny is that so many guys wear the the boxers that Amazon lists as the "best seller". It's like, I have those!"1 point

I guess I will take the opposite opinion. While the design is cool, it would also better fit in with the budget resorts like Art of Animation or Pop Century. Re-doing the rooms in the Deluxe resorts just cheapens them. If I wanna see Pixar or Disney characters in my hotel room, I would expect that in the lower resorts, not the ones where rooms start at $500 per night.1 point
