  1. Everyone seems to be assuming losing Wicked Twister means another roller-coaster to replace it. I agree with this statement. The park has been lacking a Larson Loop for a while.

  2. They can just park an RMC engineer there full time like Action Park used to park an ambulance.

  3. So...just got in from SFGAm. Will be putting a full trip report together this week. Short version though, despite all the challenges this year...one of the best weeks I've ever had. Can't wait to write more about it.

  4. OK, time for the beachfront RMC Raptor and GCI twister and Boardwalk Project with an underwater tunnel . I think Wicked Twister's back spike & launch are fun, but the pullouts give me a headache. I'm sure the park notices the low ridership, and with Volcano being removed at KD, I'm not surprised. I'll miss the beachy vibe, fun sunburst colors, and the sand blowing around the queue. The coaster visually framed the Ferris wheel so well that I can't think of a standalone ride that'd be a better fit in that space. I remember an interview with a park exec who talked about wanting to open up views to the beach from inside the park. I think that trees, rides, buildings, etc. actually add character in addition to the beach. I really like that corner of the park, so fingers crossed for good future plans beyond an empty plaza where you can watch fireworks.

  5. Work being done on Aquaman PowerWave for the first time since the pandemic shutdown. We see track sections have been removed to make way for the turntable apparatus.

  6. Where, pray tell, on the flat peninsula would be a good place?

  7. Going to BGW only for the coasters is really something only an Enthusiast would do. I could easily spend 3 whole days in BGW, doing the shows, looking at the animals, enjoying the grounds, shopping in the artisan shops over by Le Scoot/Invadr. And that's not including the handful of flats or the things like the riverboat excursion which is a lovely way to spend 20 minutes and can be done over and over. there's a TON to do in that park that's not just the coasters. (not to mention that Colonial Williamsburg is literally 10 minutes away from it and if interested in History, one can spend a full day + there as well). And Water Country is close by too, if you got a ticket that includes it).

  8. Sorry I wasn't sure, was surprised how many people didn't wait for a post credits because it isn't Marvel.

  9. As others have said, this isn't really anything new. This is Oblivion's entire layout. This is Krake This is an Oblivion clone for some reason Oblivion: The Black Hole Valkyria Baron This is a pretty average-length dive coaster, it might even be above average.

  10. Not to stray too far off topic, but this is 1000% true. Everyone gives RMC (and even Mack, Premier Rides, etc.) a pass but always craps on Intamin for being unreliable. Meanwhile Velocicoaster has been running absolutely flawlessly and had one of the smoothest and most reliable openings ever for such a hyped coaster. And that coaster has cycled a TON already and recently hit a million riders after just a couple months of operation. I would argue that most modern Intamin coasters built in the last 10-ish years are equally as reliable as any other new coaster, expect for maybe B&M rides. Hopefully the issues with these new generation single rails gets worked out. I guess it's a good thing RMC is just down the road from Silverwood.

  11. Visited the park last Thursday. $20 admission plus $10 to park, so not too bad. A few observations. 1. Dragon Coaster is just quite boring. Nothing horribly offensive about it. Just not super existing and trains are clunky / restraints are not ideal. Also, dispatches are horrible. Lots of scenarios where people can't fit into the seat properly, etc. 2. Ye Old Mill is... long. And really just not super interesting. I had to ride with a mom and two kids because no single riders and they were all bored to death. It's a shame and I recognize the long straight corridors make things very challenging (maybe these long sections were intentional, ie- Tunnel of Love). Could use some more stuff going on. 3. Other two dark rides were honestly pretty solid. Lots of good gags, though sound system is crap and super loud. 4. Kiddie Coaster was a no go. 5. Park overall has a lot of great things on offer. But also a weird mixture of some temporary rides, too. 6. Entrance gardens are nice, but the rest of the park could generally use some TLC. Significant refresh of the buildings and otherwise would do us some good. 7. They literally had no water at the food stands or otherwise. Having to buy a drink and not offering cups of water is borderline a hostage situation. 8. Volares are definitely awful, no doubt about that. 9. The Whip desperately needs TLC. Runs a really aggressive ride for no good reason. Overall, I am happy I made the trip. The park has a lot going for it, but obviously needs some work. Hopefully they do well this year and can do some of that TLC.
