Let's just leave it at this and talk about the park. I get why this came up today. It's newsworthy for sure but this is going to go off the rails. People try to find every single opportunity to inject their views into every post like we don’t all realize that’s what’s happening and it just becomes a pissing match. The virus has become politicized just like everything else which means nobody is going to change their minds on anything. If you want to go, go. If you don’t, don’t. Can we please focus on important Hersheypark related things like how you should go to Knoebels instead?5 points

Loch Ness Monster opened for the season yesterday.3 points

Knoebels is great but they don't have a Skyrush. Don't worry about credits and just go to the Skyrush.3 points

There will be no checking. You are on your own. If you've been vaccinated, why would you care. If you haven't, it's clearly a decision you made.3 points
-
Cool but uhhhh how are they going to enforce this? Beyond going around to everyone and asking to see their vax card I don’t see how... Non-vaccinated people are just going to lie about it which doesn’t do anyone any good.3 points

Yeah, because it's only an American thing. This place is a shithole and everywhere else is a utopia. Thanks for your caring words spoken from your pedestal. You can buy me some pierogi, now.2 points

Bill, get on the Six Flags train now while you can. Opening parks, running hypers year round, getting Zumj and Ka running together, Jersey Devil by Memorial day. This is a new company. Lol. Maybe.2 points

Oh okay, I'm sorry. I read it quickly and thought he said he was going in based on what was open knowing that he would miss those credits not going "for" the missing credits. The reason I thought that was because Storm Runner is closed and Flying Turns is also closed, I don't pay any attention to Impulse and for all I know it was closed too (turns out it's not but who cares?) and I thought he assumed Looper was still closed like it was all of last year. In that case, if you're going for missing credits I wouldn't go to either for awhile because Flying Turns and Storm Runner haven't opened for the season yet. Sorry for misreading that. My bad.2 points

So you’ve never ridden them but don’t think they’re thrilling because of the POVs? ... lol wow2 points

Probably just a function of how far I am from either of these parks but I'd never consider going to central PA without going to both. Skyrush and Phoenix are both too awesome to pass up.2 points

Looper is open but I’d still go to Knoebels. If you had said Phoenix or Twister maybe I would have cared. Storm Runner is a top ride at Hersheypark, some people would probably even consider it their best coaster, basically everyone would put it in the top 2 or 3 unless they’re weird and like Candymonium or something. (sorry, I’m not sure why I’m so hard on that ride. It’s a nice little ride and I’m sure they tried their hardest)2 points

Here is the footage of Ka and Zumanojaro running together! (Credit to InsideGADV on Instagram) 98744305_777929572917322_147575271769706757_n.mp41 point

If they open this ride in two weeks it will be an absolute shitshow and probably won't have all of it's trains running since only 2 of them are even on the track. I would be shocked if they do that, though they are Six Flags and probably don't care about any of those things.1 point

I wouldn't be shocked to see testing but I would be absolutely shocked if the ride opens memorial day weekend.1 point

JUST looking at those missing credits? Hershey, no question. StormRunner is my favorite coaster in the park, and SDL is quite fun if you were missing Twister, or Phoenix? I'd absolutely say Knoebel's - and it's always worth a visit anyways. . but if you're specifically going for these credits? Impulse is nothing really special, tho it's fun, and Flying Turns is unique, but not what I'd call an exciting ride. if it were simply a choice between Hershey & Knoebel's ? I'd say Knoebel's. . . but in this case? Hershey.1 point

But what about those kids under 12? Kids who will send their entire classroom into quarantine if they do end up contracting the virus. I think there’s valid reasons for those of us with young children to be concerned about the prospect of large massless crowds that aren’t verified to be vaccinated. I have a stay booked for a few weeks from now and may have to reconsider based on this news.1 point

I can say with a great deal of confidence that that was not full speed off the lift, nor will it stay that speed. That’s the first time it’s ever gone around the track.1 point

I've never done a membership or a dining plan. I'm holding out for the unlimited beer and Uber fun pass.1 point

The original raptors ran about this pace in their first test runs. Trust me... this thing will speed up and start hauling. But perhaps the 10-car trains and redesigned/reshaped elements will make a difference in the pacing. I'm happy for all of you Pacific Northwest people. This will be a great addition to the park that is long overdue!1 point

- Like any other big SF park, if you're going on a weekend or really nice day that would make it busy, allow enough time to enter the park. Fortunately the new touchless security process is a massive improvement over the previous lines. - If you see Kingda Ka operating and want to ride it, make it a priority and head straight there, as it can (and will) break down and may not reopen when it does. - The Golden Kingdom is tricky to find for first-time visitors: the entrance is to the right of Twister (the top spin) - Kingda Ka's queue entrance can also be tricky, it's to the right and behind of its locker area. - When planning out your day, your best/signature attractions are on opposite ends of the park (Kingda Ka/Zumanjaro/El Toro/Bizarro to the north, Nitro/Batman/WW/soon Jersey Devil to the south). While I don't mind the walk, some might find it exhausting; if open, the Skyway is your best friend to get from one side to the other as well as for photo ops. - Do be sure to stop by the lagoon near the log flume to take in that famous view of El Toro with Kingda Ka towering above it. It is truly one of the best photo vantage points one will find at any amusement park.1 point

My advice for everyone who balks at the price of a one day ticket (considering you basically have to park-hop) seems counter-intuitive but it's to get an annual pass (I know how stupid that sounds but hear me out). The Seasonal Pass has no benefits except for park admission but it's 349.99. A one-day ticket on most weekends is $187 or sometimes more so the pass pays for itself in less than 2 visits (aside from consecutive-day combo tickets or mid-week visits during the slowest time of the year). They also frequently run promotions where you can get additional months added on to your pass for free. We got ours last October and it's good until some time in January of 2022. Sure, this pass has blackout dates but only a few select Mardi Gras concert days that you can work around. The other blackout days are days where no intelligent person would want to be caught dead in Orlando anyway if they didn't live there (Christmas Week / Spring Break / July... the hottest month of the entire summer) That said, when we renew one of us will get the preferred pass for the free parking and in-park discounts and one will keep the seasonal pass. That's the move if you're going to travel with friends or a significant other.1 point

Cedar Point No Longer Requiring Face Masks -Face maks no longer required on rides, though it is still recommended -Temperature checks for guests have been discontinued. -Health-screen questionnaires will be conducted at entrance gates, not through the Cedar Point mobile app. Also Cedar Point said face coverings would still be required while guests are indoors, unless actively eating or drinking. “In addition to continued guidance from health professionals, none of our rides are long enough to meet the criteria that’s been established by the CDC as consistent exposure,” -Tony Clark1 point

Storm Runner has not opened yet. When I was there last week, the train had water dummies loaded on the train. As far as I can tell, no one has seen it test yet.0 points
