The Ultimate TPR Tokyo DisneySea Update!        The Ultimate TPR Tokyo Disneyland Update!

Welcome to TPR's Ultimate Tokyo DisneySea Update! During our visit to the Tokyo Disney Resort in 2011, between Hanno and myself, we took literally thousands of photos! It's taken me a while to sort through them all, and now I present to you a collection of about 500 different pictures and around 25 attraction videos taken during our visit. Grab some Black Pepper or Curry Popcorn, and get ready to browse through tons of photos and watch loads of video from one of the worlds most amazing theme park resorts!

Well, in case you haven't figured it out by now, we've totally arrived at the Tokyo Disney Resort! During our 2011 trip we spend a total of 7 days during three different visits to the resort, and we'll cover the different hotels we stayed at, and lots of attractions from both parks. But first, let's start with Tokyo DisneySea!

I'm just going to get it out of the way now...this is FREAKIN' AWESOME!!! It's like the best setting you can ever have walking into a theme park. I don't care how many times I've seen this, it never gets old, and I always have that OMG WOW feeling walking into this park. Simply amazing!

Ok, sure, perhaps this is *actually* the first thing you see, and other than thinking "Wait, did I just walk into a Universal park?" this is kind of a 'teaser' for what you're about to see next. In a way, it's kind of like you walk in, go "oh..." and then you walk further and go.. "OOOOOHHHHHHhhhhh!"

The buildings you see here around the lagoon is Hotel Mira Costa. We'll get to that later (we stayed there during our final visit to Tokyo DisneySea.)

Mount Prometheus is the centerpiece icon of the park, and I don't think there is any other icon I can think of that is as impressive. The Epcot ball comes close, but still, this is freakin' amazing!

Mysterious Island kind of acts as a "hub" in a way, in that when you walk into the park, you're sort of immediately drawn to this area. Maybe it's some sort of gravitational pull from the awesomeness that is Journey, I dunno, but unless you're running to get a Tower FastPass first thing in the morning, you really have to go here first and just take it all in.

And yes, it's an active volcano, so it will randomly erupt throughout the day. Get your cameras ready, you don't want to miss it!

Hanno shot this. You can tell. Because it looks good! My iPhone ain't got a chance of capturing this awesomeness! =)

So we'll just dive right into this...Journey is full of awesome. In fact, I would even say before you look at the rest of the pictures, watch the video below. We shot it in 1080p HD, and I think it came out pretty damn good! Even Jules Verne would be proud!

We're going to show you lots of pictures of the queue area, because that's the sort of geeky thing we like to do. It probably won't make a lot of sense, and honestly, I'm not going to explain it (I'd have to learn Japanese first), but just note all the amazing detail. It just looks cool!

Ooooh! Random TIP! If you ever go with a child, use the "baby switch pass" on Journey. For whatever reason, they walk you THROUGH THE THEMING, through a normally closed door, to get to the baby switch area! Why do they do this? It doesn't matter! It's awesome!

These are the boarding areas to the elevators. They actually do bring you to the loading area, but for some odd reason I'm reminded of the old "Hydrolators" from The Living Seas every time I ride these. Actually, I take that back, because these are really cool, and the hydrolators were anything but...

Here is a look inside the "Steam-o-lator."

Here's a bit of the theming to help explain the story. Ok, look the story of the ride is, it's a "Journey to the Center of the Earth." That's really all you need to know!

More of the theming...as you can see we're pretty far beneath the earth at this point.

More queue area...hopefully by now you've watched the video!

The details in the queue is just amazing. I remember when I went to ride Indy at Disneyland in California for the first time and thought "Wow, this is an elaborate queue." I'm afraid to even go back there now because I'm sure compared to this it will look like a poor mans haunted house set up in someone's garage!

Lightning plays such an important role in this attraction....wait...what am I talking about lighting? This is ACTUALLY WHAT IT LOOKS LIKE DEEP INTO THE EARTH'S SURFACE!!!

Here's the ride vehicles that will take you on your Journey.

If you think this ride is just "test track with a lava monster", you got a huge surprise ahead of you!
