July 4th Weekend, 2004, PA Area Trip!

Wildwood Piers
Knoebel's    Dorney Park    Dutch Wonderland    William's Grove
Hersheypark

Next up was the parks gem!  The 'holy grail' of all wooden coasters!
"The William's Grove Cyclone!"

There have been many stories and urban legends that describe the Cyclone..."Rough woodie, but fun", "Can't believe it's still standing",
"It's the 'funniest' coaster I've ever been on", "I heard a truck once plowed through the center of it...", etc, etc.
This sign, however, is the truth!  "Safe, but rough!"

Mark and Max look a little more than just 'concerned!"

As the train heads up the lift, you can tell that the track isn't quite aligned right, and the whole lift sways to one side!

Down the first drop!  It's actually quite enjoyable!  It sort of bounces along the track, and I think the track might even bounce with it!

At the bottom of the first drop, there isn't much room for the train to level out and you hear the entire ride creak and snap!

This part of the ride is kind of funky.  It's not really 'drops' as much as it is 'steps'.  The train pretty much bounces down the steps!

The ride has a 'cute little' train.  Just two cars, but that's all it needs to scare the hell out of you!

The track looks like it hasn't been painted in years!  You can see the steel part of it fade in and out of the wood.
The flat section at the bottom of this hill is really 'funny' because it goes on for a while!

Mark and Max are hanging on for dear life!!!

They finally smoothed out this 'abrupt hill'.  You can see in THIS PICTURE that it used it be a lot more severe!

"You!!!!  You!!!!  I'm gonna kill you for making me ride this damn thing!!!!"

Ahh, the fun house!  With those cure little German dudes on top, who can resist?  Nothing bad can happen in here, right?  RIGHT?

We're not even inside when the fun starts!

We found this "BLAST of air" that made Elissa do her "Vladimir from Blackpool" impression!

Then she wanted to do her "Michael Jackson" impression....

...then John was all "oooh!  oooh!  Move!  I wanna do my Michael Jackson impression too!!!!"

We went tumbling around in the barrel and nearly lost the Catholic!

On a side note, this park is really funky!  You HAVE to come visit this place!  We made fun of it, yeah, but you just HAVE to!  It's so odd
and quirky!  Unlike any other park I've been to!  It reminds me of wandering through an abandoned park that just happens to still be open!
