Hi everyone. Wanted to introduce myself as I am new to the forums but love TPR on youtube. I also wanted to let everyone know that I am working on a book about rides and attractions from a ride ops perspective. I have been working on the book for a week or so and was hopefully wondering if anyone would like to preview the book. The working title is The Viel of Secrecy. A look from the ride ops side. The book is going to cover basic ride operations that I have noticed are in common in a lot of theme parks. No specifics will be given as being a ride op formerly, there are some things i cant discuss. Thanks for your time and I hope to upload an early version soon.

Mod Edit: Moved this post to our welcome thread. Welcome to TPR and good luck with your book!

Welcome to the boards but what is a viel? Spell Check is your friend!

vail i think is a curtain and you are correct but at this time, working title only. Will probably change it. Um Question to the mods. can I upload a pdf, pages, or doc file?

Hey TPR.

Total noob here, but not new to coasters.

I have been an enthusiast since 1999, or when I was 11.

Uh...I live in NJ and really don't like my home park of SF:GA and think Kingda Ka isn't worth much of a wait... though it has some killer rides at the park.

My favorite park is Cedar Point, my favorite coaster is Millennium Force (though I've yet to do I305, Bizarro or Maverick), I've been on 74 coasters and will be looking to increase that number when I go to Cedar Point this August and finally add Maverick.

I drove to Hershey, PA to ride Skyrush opening day, and it was awesome.

...I also enjoy writing, reading, nature walks and music.

I am currently looking for a real life job (college had to end sometime) but really...I hope to make it as a writer. Until then, gotta pay the bills and park trips.

Hello TPR!!

My name is Kim. I have been following some posts here on TPR for the past year and have finally decided to make an account and join! I only started riding coasters a few years ago and have been hooked on them ever since! My favorite coaster has to be El Toro at Six Flags which, was my first ever roller coaster!

Besides my interest in roller coasters I can be found running on the Varsity squad of my school's Cross Country and Track team! I also may be found rooting for the New Jersey Devils at the Pru Center, as I am a GIANT NHL fan!

Hai, i'm Hero of Lime, i've been here for about 5 months now and finally decided to make an account, my home park is SFOG and i'm thankful for having one of the "better" six flags parks in the chain near, I love eurofighters( epic hangtime on first drop) and, same as everyone, crave airtime , I hope to be on this site for a long time and not just have a random inactive account! So now I command you to greet me!

Hello TPR my name is Brandon and I live near Saratoga New York. I've always loved coasters for as long as I can remember (My favorites being Bizzaro at Six Flags New England and the Voyage). I'm also a outdoors guy and love to go on camping trips with my family.

Hi!!!! <- because "Hi." isn't enough

My name is Kevin Boerma and I reside in Jakarta, Indonesia, so of course I've been to other SEA theme parks, specifically the ones closer to my island spot. I've been on about 11 coasters so far, because there is no coaster dedicated park in the country (perhaps it's expensive to build one, pout), but the rest of them are done in other countries.

I visit Europe every year (normally I do it every summer but now the times have changed and visiting times vary, in fact I might not go to Europe any longer that many times) It's the many trips to The Netherlands where I got to get myself further introduced to coasters, thanks Six Flags for leaving a wonderful legacy to all the Walibi parks!

The local theme park here was once supposed to be Asia's first Disneyland but that deal somehow didn't come, so they decided to make a local version of Disneyland instead to make the crowd happy, called Dunia Fantasi (translation: Dream World), best known by the short term "Dufan". It houses only 2 coasters, one being probably the shortest Vekoma coaster in the world (Halilintar), which includes a B&M style chain lift drop, one left hand loop, and 2 sets of corkscrews. The rest of the park is more focused on anti-coaster attractions, which are interestingly a hit with the locals. Perhaps they don't like them in this country, that's why there are only 2 types that have you going at different angles..

Other than a love with roller coasters, I am a huge gaming, automotive, and gadget freak. I am certain RCT2 & 3 was the reason for the upbringing of my coaster junkie.

Hi, I am Sara and I live in Western NY. I have been a park fan for a while but just registered today. My home parks are Darien Lake and Martins Fantasy Island. I don't get out to parks much but I do visit the Erie County Fair every year. I am hopefully going to Darien Lake in late august this year.

Hey there, I'm narkitty. The first theme park that I ever went to was Fiesta Texas in 1992, when I was about 18 mos. old. I've been going to SFOT and SFFT every year since then. I got really into roller coasters when I was about 7 years old. I was really, really tall for my age so I got to ride all of the "big kid" rides while my classmates were still stuck on mine trains and the like. Now, I live in San Antonio and visit SFFT a few times a week. I'm hoping to visit a lot more parks in the future, but for now I'm happy with my home park(s).

Hello, my name is Shaun. So far I've only ridden eight roller coasters in my lifetime with my favorites being Comet (Hersheypark), Thunderhawk and Hydra (that JoJo Roll is sick!). I am a fairly active user of Roller Coaster Tycoon, and will probably be posting parks from RCT2 and RCT3 in the games forum. I do use custom items in RCT2 but I am strictly NCSO in RCT3. By the time I found out about RCT3 custom stuff, most of the community websites were long gone and I've always been satisfied by the default scenery options and rides in the game. I also enjoy photography, model railroading, and PC gaming.

Hey all my names Dylan, I'm from Miami,Fl born and raised. I'm currently a full time student, majoring in Psychology. I (obviously) love coasters, I also love cars, tech, music and just having a good time. Ive been on the forum for awhile, but have not been very active. I attended the Busch Gardens Tampa Bash a couple months ago and had a great time. I'm going to be at the Deep South Bash at SFoG, so I was hoping to introduce myself before hand, which I made the mistake of not doing for Busch.

That is me in a couple sentences. I look forward to bashing it up at SFoG on the 11th! Hope to see you all there!

Hey everyone!

I'm Chad, and I live in Los Angeles, CA. I'm only 14, but I'm a HUGE coaster fanatic and love rollercoasters! I know most other people haven't really posted this (and I haven't really kept count), but I'd say I've probably been on 50 different coasters. One of the most thrilling attractions I've done is the SkyJump ride at the Stratosphere Hotel/Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA.

Hope to be posting very soon. See you later fellow TPRers!

I kind of said hello on the SDC thread, but I'll formally introduce myself here.

I'm Andy, and I live in Springfield, Missouri. We have three kids, the oldest of whom is almost 5. We brought her to Silver Dollar City for the first time last year, and she absolutely loved it. We go on average every other week now, and she's ridden almost all the rides she's tall enough for, including the American Plunge (a log flume with a 50' drop). I myself have been to a handful of parks in the Midwest, all during high school and college. My daughter's discovery of SDC has re-kindled the love I had as a kid for these rides, and I'm excited for her that the Grand Exposition has added so much to the experience.

We love traveling, especially by train. I'm enjoying reading about all the fun places there are and the great rides out there. One of these days, (we'll have to wait for the kids to be a bit older, so they can enjoy the big coasters), we'll do an Amtrak trip to Sandusky. I had a friend in high school who went to work at Cedar Point each summer, but I never was able to go myself. He had such great things to say about the park that it's been on my bucket list ever since.

Hi everyone,

I'm kind of new. I have floated around for the past 7-9 years but never really posted or introduced myself. So since I haven't been active in quite some time I have made a new profile and here I am

My name is Kat, I'm 26 years old and I live in England.

I have been to a variety of theme parks, nowhere near as many as I want to so I need to change that. I am looking for people with similar interests as myself.

I am also a girl gamer and If I'm not geeking out over theme parks you will find me playing battlefield 3 or halo.

Feel free to add me or IM me as the details are in the profile, I look forward to getting to know you guys

Hola everyone!

My name is lance. I've lurked on this site for a couple of years but never really posted. My home park is kings island which is only about a half hour north of me. I live in northern Kentucky. My wife and I like to get platinum passes to make regular visits to both kings island and Cedar point but have yet to use them to go to any other parks. One of these days we will finally make it to kings dominion.

Things about me not theme park related. I'm a metalhead and frequent concerts I have been to over 200 in a little over 10 years and I have a fairly large collection of memorabilia I have caught at the shows (drum sticks, setlists, picks. Ect..) also though I may be a scary zombie, I like turtles!

I may be new to this forum but on other music forums I have over 20k posts. So if I take a liking to this place you can expect me to post a lot. I've noticed on this site versus others there is a lot of activity so that should keep me interested.

Hi! My name is Griffin. I am from La Quinta, California. I just graduated from Palm Desert High School as part of the class of 2012. I am now working on a nursing degree at UC Irvine. I've been on at least every coaster in SoCal...at least at SFMM, DCA, and Knotts. I've been lurking around the website for a couple years, mainly the Magic Mountain thread. I hope to attend a TPR event one day

I am very big on basketball and cars. My favorite teams are the Lakers and Warriors. Both teams are going to sweep through the East and West I am currently working on a Nissan 240sx s14 build for drift.

My music will tell you a lot about me lol. R&B, Acoustic, and Hip-Hop is my kind of stuff. Oh, and I dance. Choreography and break dance :3

Maybe you guys have seen me before? I was one of those crazy Key Clubbers at Six Flags Magic Mountain for Fall Rally South every year in November.

Hi there, I'm Max. I live near the Bay Area in California. I've been visiting this site for a long time. I wanted to join a while back, but I sorta procrastinated on that. But now I'm here, so I'll just hope for the best!

Of course I'm a big theme park nerd. The nearest park to my hometown is California's Great America (which I usually visit a lot). Usually every summer I head down to the SoCal parks (this year I went to Universal). When it comes to coasters, I'll ride any (except for the painful ones, I'll pass). It's really hard to figure out which is my favorite, so I'll just put in my top 5.

5. The Demon (California's Great America)

4. The Giant Dipper (Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk)

3. Revenge of the Mummy (Universal Studios Hollywood)

2. Flight Deck (CGA)

1. Space Mountain (Disneyland)

Other than theme parks, I also like movies and video games (in fact, I'm wanting to do a video game fanfilm). My most favorite movie genre is animation and I also like Spielberg's works (in fact, he's the reason why I want to make movies). And for video games, I usually like the classics (I own both a Sega Genesis and a Super Nintendo). But I also like the modern games too. Though not really a big fan on FPS or RPGs, I'm more of a platformer kind of guy (like the Mario games).

Anyway, I'm kind of still new to fourms. So I'll try my best to fit in. And I hope I have a good time here.

who knew TPR had forums other than the roller-coaster and donkey's one?

heh

been around for a few months now, after what seems like years of lurking.

I'm bert

I'm in Cedar Park (just outside of Austin)

I tend not to capitalize at the beginning of sentences (and I've been told that makes some folks around here nuts, but haven't had any problems since I *do* use proper grammar).

45, Partnered for 8+ years. love pop-culture, theme parks, Las Vegas, comics, music (all kinds other than Pop & Country).

and, um. . . guess I'll explore a bit more.

Hello everyone. My name is Tim and I just decided to sign up after watching this site for some time. My home park is Valleyfair. Up until this July, I had not been on a coaster in about 3-4 years. I thought I had grown out of it, probably because I have few friends that like coasters and I end up going on rides by myself. In July, my niece asked me to take her to VF. We had a lot of fun going on pretty much everything, she was finally old enough to go on everything. In August I went to SFGam with one of my friends that will ride some coasters, but not all. The fire has been lit again. Heck, I'm thinking about jumping in the car and head to WoF this weekend, never been there.

I probably won't post a lot on here. I will be keeping my eyes open for upcoming trips and events though.

You can never grow out of it! You'll be like 90 and thinking, "I know of a cool way to die."

As for my intro, I live up in Boston and just started working in the industry. I've been to ~10 parks this year on business. I will probably match that visiting IAAPA. As for parks on vacation, I prefer to go to ones that are easy to travel to. One time, I flew down to Orlando, went on almost all the rides at Universal, and flew back the same day. Take that, hotel prices!
