Cowabunga Bay waterpark

^ lol. The power of marketing is certainly an awesome thing. Just curious though, was the shade issue something you noticed and wanted to address, was it something that guests mentioned to you, or was it just in the plans from the beginning and now coming to fruition?

Either way, it's still fun watching your park evolve!

Just looked at this thread from page 1!

What a GREAT concept! You know, the area I live in DESPERATELY needs something like this... Our area isn't big enough for a full blown water park but I think we are the perfect size for a neighborhood water park!

Have you thought about new locations?! Great job, it looks like Disney worked on this project!

There is a lot going on this season at the park and just like the big parks...there is 13 days before opening yet there still is a lot to do. Weather, permits and the unforeseen always seem to push everything to the last hour. Here is a quick construction update on things happening at the park. We WILL make our opening date (even if I have to stay until midnight every night).

we are adding one more acre of room to the park. Each new patio area will include pop jets to create more water fun.

Lots more room for lounging, shading and group events. (this picture was a week ago before all the sod went down)

The new “Guppy Racer” slide. I know it is small (please no “that’s what she said jokes) but it is for a kiddie area.

Shane your park looks amazing, and I really like the website. It loads fast, has tons of interactiveness, informative, and the videos are a very nice touch, especially like the one for Giant Splash, the music makes it pop. The love bug at the bottom that drives you to the next page, full of win!

Crap, now I have to figure out how to get out there this summer (and I don't mean as in how to get there, I mean $$ wise)

You all know what a fan I am of Theme Park history, and if you don’t you should check out my “Shane’s Amusement Attic” thread here on TPR. As part of our new expansion to the park I thought it would be fun to pay homage to an old logo of a theme park. Anyone know which park logo???

  • 2 weeks later...

We’ve added a bunch of cool things to the park this year; a new Kid’s play area, additional acre for seating, lounging and shading, “Beach Parties” group and events area but best of all...I am please to announce...coming to Cowabunga Bay in 2012...drum roll please!

All parks must offer Dole Whip. This needs to be a federal law.

WTF Is Dole Whip?! I keep hearing about it and about how great it is but I have no idea what it is.

This park really is looking incredible, Shane. I just need someone to clear up what Dole Whip is.

Raises hand

Yes Mark, do you have an answer?

Shane, correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe the answer is the old Busch Gardens Tampa logo. If I'm right, do I get a lifetime supply of pineapple Dole Whip?! Looks very tasty.
